Joe the Plumber to Campaign for John McCain
October 27, 2008 11:10 PM
ABC News' Bret Hovell reports: Joe Wurzelbacher, aka “Joe the Plumber,” will campaign tomorrow in Ohio for Senator John McCain.
Wurzelbacher, the Toledo-area native, will go on a bus tour with former Rep. Rob Portman, a close McCain supporter, and a number of small business people.
It will be the first time Wurzelbacher has been out to campaign for the McCain ticket since he approached Barack Obama some weeks back to ask about Obama’s tax policy, and became a part of McCain’s stump speech.
McCain, and his running mate Sarah Palin, have made “Joe the Plumber” a central part of their campaign, mentioning him at nearly every stop as a way of illustrating how, they argue, Barack Obama’s tax plans will affect average Americans.

You mean the Joe the Plumber who's not really a plumber?
You must mean Joe the Plumber who has a lien on his house because he doesn't believe in paying property taxes?
Or do you mean Joe the Plumber who is a republican Plant?

Great, now McCain has an income tax evader campaigning for him, alongside his rogue Veep.

And yet people are complaining about the big bad liberal media attacking this guy? McCain has thrown Joe the Plumber's name out there whenever he has the chance, and now apparently Joe is going to campaign for him too. Seems to me he's fair game.

The Republican party has become an absolute joke. They are basically saying dummies here is our head dummy.

Actually, the guy is a plumber. He works for his boss under his ticket like THOUSANDS of others in Ohio. He is also getting his own ticket and has almost finished.
Fact is, he was talking about buying his bosses plumbing business. And Obama gave a dumb answer so lets rip the guys life apart to find any dirt they can right?
There is no doubt that Joe the Plumber is a republican. There is no doubt Mc Cain has used him. There is no doubt Joe the Plumber is going to campaign for the guy he wants to win.
However, the VETTED the guy long before all this. They VETTED him when he was just a guy asking Obama a question in his own driveway.
Like good little FASCISTS, the Obama camp ripped the guy apart. Now we know the ugly truth.
NEVER disagree with Obama. He will send his SS after you.
Heil Obama !!!!

I can't think of a better way to really put the nail in McCain's presidential campaign coffin. Joe "the loser" Plumber. Two fools and a bimbo.

Thats why Obama campaign team is so great. Is this what mccain got left?

I do believe that it was McCain who drug ole Joe into this mess of a republican campaign. If you actually listened and watch the video, Obama was great, didn't say what ole Joe wanted him to say. Obama kept to what his campaign is all about and that is honesty. Ole Joe was the one who was telling fibs and now McCain has tarnished him and he will always be know as a "plumbers helper."

infoseeking is invoking Godwin's law a bit early in the discussion. this must be the surest sign that this topic has been beaten to death.

Oh Clifton, do you mean Joe The Plumber who doesn't pay his taxes, like Fat Lardass Head Of The House Charlie Rangel who hasn't paid thousands in taxes from rentals in the Dominical Republic (Shady Deals)
Or the tax break and ilicit deal that he got having his office in a rent controlled building hahahaha Get reall idiot.
You dems used and abused government powers in a frightening way to go after Joe the Plumber and I hope he sues someone's ass.

I cant believe how cruel Obama supporters are. Joe struggles working to take care of his son. Its time the Working class gets a break...I work 7 days a week and can prove it. I am sick of people who get everything free from our government...It is not fair... Obama wants to help the freeloaders... McCain wants to help the working class..

Maybe after Joe the Plumber gets paid by the RNC to stump for a candidate he does not really politically agree with, he can use the proceeds to pay off the property taxes he has been evading. The fact that this one trick pony is still being used by the McCain campaign is representative of how desperate and absurd his campaign has become.

infoseeking, I don't recall seeing anywhere that Obama "ripped" Joe the Plumber. And since he has chosen to put himself out there, after McCain made him famous, he is as fair game as anyone campaigning for Obama, and we all know the republicans never "rip" Democrats.
As far as Obama giving a dumb answer, I have to ask, did you see and hear that video? Obama told him he would have to know more about this particular business, but that he could actually save on taxes under his plan. Or, if he was actually going to earn over $250,000, he might have to pay a little extra. I thought Obama gave an honest answer, especially for being caught off guard as he was.
People like you who call people that disagree with you all these stupid names really gets my dander up. You do all you can to cut someone you don't know anything about down, based on what you hear on right wing talk (lie) shows, but yet you support anything the GOP tells you to. Get real. We all think McCain is a decent guy, we just don't agree with his policies. I can make my case for not voting for him without teling lies about him. I guess the lies and names are all you people got, huh?

Wow! Didn't expect to stumble upon such a large group of very prolific writers.
Too bad most of you write fiction.

Joe the Plumber is better at communicating a point than Sarah Palin. Perhaps, McCain can change the ticket?
