McCain Campaign Seeking More 'Joes'

Share

October 20, 2008 12:23 PM

ABC News' Ron Claiborne Reports: Still riding the wave of Joe the Plumber, the McCain campaign is asking supporters to make their own "Why I'm Joe the Plumber" video with the promise that the winner's could end up running as a campaign TV ad.

"How are you "Joe the Plumber"?  Tell us in 30 seconds," the McCain campaign solictation says. "We want you to tell us how you are 'Joe the Plumber' and why you're supporting John McCain and Sarah Palin in thirty seconds. You could even see your video as an official McCain TV ad."

The only guideline for submissions is to "share your story of living the American Dream, working hard, or owning a small business to tell America why you're standing with John McCain and Sarah Palin."

Joe the Plumber -- aka Joe Wurzelbacher of Ohio - has become an integral part of Sen. John McCain's stump speech recently. McCain invokes him as the human face representing how Sen. Barack Obama (according to McCain) will raise taxes on middle-income Americans and small businesses.

How about Joe the Sixpack?
Or Joe (Lieberman) the Senator?

I'll take Joe The Plumber over Obama The Socialist any day.

I would not dream of stepping forward and subjecting myself throught the kind of Hell dished out to Joe the plumber by the Obama Stormtroopers.

I supported Hillary, went to the convention as her delegate, and the obamites have convinced me John McCain is the only man for the job.

At least Samuel didn't have a weird name like Malcolm or Track or Willow.

I guess I should a read the other readers comments first.

I see Obama's Stormtroopers have already found this place.

Zeig Obama!

You people are idiots. Yes it's true that anyone could plant a McCain supporter anywhere to ask a question, howeverf, no one can force Obama to talk about the redistribution of wealth. Obama did that all on his own. You people need to read about Socialism, Communism, and Marxism and see if that is really what you want this country to become.

When the McCain campaign finds their "new Joe" will they do the same fine job of vetting him as they have done with Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin? Just wondering.

The difference between John McCain and Barrack Obama.

John McCain’s positions are life sustaining for America.

Barrack Obama is too reduce the strength of America and the self-sufficiency of the America life.

DO
First off Obama did not go in his Lawn, the Interaction between the so called Plumber happened in the street, Second I belive it was Mccain who brought him up in the debates and Kept on Harping and Harping about him as well as Fox news showing the Tape of the Interaction over and over again.

Posted by: Angie | Oct 20, 2008 1:22:21 PM

Hey NV-Sparkle...........Obama went to Joe's door.

Why would McCain need to vet someone your messiah selected?

My sister-in-law and brother... tight republicans... 3 weeks ago she loved Sarah, she could not stop talking about her... Yesterday she told me that for the first time in their lives they are voting Democrat, that they are so sick of the lies everyday and the flip flopping on McCains policies, she said that they now can't trust him or his policies. I am so proud of them!

To the McCain supporter here:

Can one of you please explain to me why you support McCain, without saying ANYTHING about Obama? Please tell me what McCain plans to do for America over the next 4 years. I am still trying to decide and could use some solid facts.

wow, you all are afraid of socialism, but yet you want to vote for MCShame. He wants to give our tax dollars to corporations, thats socialism. He wants to put more money into the military, thats socialism. He wants to give subsidies to farmers, thats socialism. He has voted in favor of increasing the size of the government (its grown 3x the size since republicans have been in charge) thats socialism. He voted in favor of the $700 billion wall street bale out, thats socialism. The republican president is taking over banks, thats socialism.

You are already there thanks to McShame and the republican party!

President Obama! Get used to it!

for those who think that Joe the Plumber was a plant, you must be confused with ACORN or the Obama supporters who registered and voted in Ohio, by renting a group house and are now back studying at Oxford. Or the Obama campaign volunteer, who registered and voted on Oct 1 (after having arrived in Ohio on Sept 29) and used his host family's address, without their permission, to register. http://palestra.net/blogs/read/17368

With the round-the-clock investigative reporting that has descended on Joe-the-Plumber, no one has yet claimed that he wasn't living in that same neighborhood when Obama decided to go to his neighborhood.

I wish the same sleuths would descend on the Columbia University neighborhood and tell us something about Obama's days in NYC, when he was using MJ and doing some "blow." Or perhaps camp outside Bill Ayers' house to find out when he first met Obama and whether they've ever discussed politics.

Like Obama's tax plan or not...this Joe the Plumber is just getting out of hand. I am in the middle class and I work hard, so yes...give me and my family a break. I wonder if I blew up my budget and retirement like the banking industry did, if the goverment would give me something out of the $700 billion dollar bailout package? I guess, I will have to wait for it to trickle down and see...

Neither Joe nor the GOP "planted" the Marxist "spread the wealth around" response in Obama's mouth.

Saul Alinsky did.

Posted by: Joe Hair-Plugger | Oct 20, 2008 1:26:27 PM

Obama wants to take from the hard working class and give to the irresponsibiles. Every Joe the Plumber needs to say FLUSH to Obama. He is a socialist with terrorist's ties and support. He will stand up for the Muslims, the same people who attacked us on 9/11.

Ten R E A S O N S to vote for McCain / Palin - 10) Lindsay Lohan just got out of drug rehab and hates Sarah Palin. 9) Madonna hates Sarah Palin. 8) Jesse Jackson says cheerfully an Obama victory will diminish Israel's influence on American foreign policy. 7) Louis Farrakhan loves Obama and calls him the messiah. 6) Rev. Wright married the Obamas 5) Terrorist Bill Ayers loves his friend Obama. 4) Hugo Chavez loves Obama 3) Tina Fey isn't as pretty as Sarah Palin. 2) The UN, Iran, Bin Laden, KGB Russia are all praying for an Obama victory.1) Birds of a feather flock together.
