Obama's Anniversary Gift to Michelle
October 03, 2008 2:52 PM
John Berman, Sunlen Miller, Ursula Fahy and David Chalian report: Barack Obama didn't exactly move heaven and earth to impress his wife, but he did stop traffic.
In the town of Glenside, PA Obama's motorcade made an unannounced stop at Penny's Flowers so the Senator could buy Michelle Obama flowers for their 16th wedding anniversary.
"I wish I could just slip in and get some flowers for my wife," he said.
He wondered for just a moment for about what he should buy: "I'm thinking not red...maybe yellow?"
He settled on a bouqet of a dozen white roses surrounded in babies breath. Total price, $47.70.
The scene was somewhat reminiscent of a scene from, "The American President," a film directed by Democratic activist (though Hillary Clinton supporter) Rob Reiner. In it, the American president Andrew Shepherd (played by Michael Douglass) tries to buy flowers for his new girlfriend, Sidney Allen Wade (Annette Benning). Remember? "The dogwood is both a tree and a flower. I'd like a dozen, please. Really? No dogwoods?" He says.

Hey Obama+Biden
It's Sh**heads like you who make me cringe. You are the perfect example of the pig farmers and rubes that make up the base of McCains party. Ignorant to the core with little brains to boot. Why dont you reach down between your legs, grab your neck real tight and pull your head out of you ass. Please take the gun you love so much, put in your big mouth and pull the trigger.

what a cheapskate. $47 bucks. he makes millions from writing crappy book. plus, isn't Michelle in Chicago? why buy flowers in a swing state when you'll just have to fly them home? haha. he is a phony.

Hillary did not lose. NoBama was selected by Pelosi, Dean, and Reid......they pressured the StupidDelegates to endorse the idiot because they were afraid of Hillary. If Michigan and Florida had been counted during the primaries, Hillary would be the nominee right now, and NoBama would be the gardner at Rev. Wrights church!

That's one thing you will not get to do in this earth before you go rot in hell. I can promise you - you will not have slavery as you'd wish. Go to hell, devil. Leave this good ol' earth for decent people to live. I could care less whether Obama & Biden win or not. But I assure you that your soul will never find piece until you get to where it will have rotten for eternity.

This is the only site where I see comments that make me embarrassed to call myself an American and at times totally disgusted with racism comments.

Hey nobama instead of buying flowers rather send that money to your brother in Kenya - the poor bugger lives on $1 per month.

You guys are a piece of work!! YOU cannot step away from the poitics a minute to wish people happiness? What a wolrd we have now...and it scares me to think of future with agree, desperate people like the ones who are on this blog...MEN, go home and kiss you wife or partner. WOMEN, go home and be thankful you have one, plus kiss your partner/spouse.
Posted by: newvoter | Oct 3, 2008 3:51:07 PM
Is this suppose to be something special?
I have no respect for this man especially since he was the ONLY senator who voted against a bill portecting babies born alive from botched abortions from being left to die! It doesn't get any colder than that.
