Palin Goes After Obama-Ayers Connection
October 04, 2008 7:22 PM
ABC News' Imtiyaz Delawala reports: Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin unleashed a new attack on Sen. Barack Obama, accusing him of "palling around with terrorists" for his association with former 1960s radical William Ayers. The Obama campaign immediately denounced the attack as "shameless" and "offensive."
At a private fundraiser in Englewood, Colo., this morning, and later at a rally in Carson, Calif., this afternoon, Palin for the first time raised Obama’s connection to Ayers, one of the founding members of the Weather Underground, a '60s radical group that took credit for bombing attacks around the country, including explosions set off at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol.
"Our opponent, though, is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country," Palin told supporters at a $1,000-a-plate fundraiser in Englewood. "Americans need to know this."
Palin cited a front-page article in today’s New York Times that explored the ties between Obama and Ayers. Obama had served on a charity board with Ayers in Chicago during the mid-90s, and Ayers was present at an organizing meeting in 1995 to kick off Obama's first election campaign for the Illinois State Senate.
"There has been a lot of interest in what I read, and what I read lately well, was reading my copy of today’s New York Times and I was really interested to read about Barack's friends from Chicago," Palin said. "OK, now I get to bring this up not to pick a fight, but it was there in the New York Times, so we're gonna talk about it.
"And it turns out one of Barack’s earliest supporters is a man who according to the New York Times, and are they ever wrong, according to the New York Times was a domestic terrorist and part of a group of that, quote, pushed a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol," Palin continued. "Wow. These are the same guys who think patriotism is paying higher taxes. This is not a man who sees America as I see America, OK?"
The Obama campaign denounced the comments by Palin, calling them "shameless" and "offensive" in a statement released this afternoon.
"In fact, the very newspaper story Governor Palin cited in hurling her shameless attack made clear that Senator Obama is not close to Bill Ayers, much less 'pals,' and that he has strongly condemned the despicable acts Ayers committed 40 years ago, when Obama was eight. What’s clear is that John McCain and Sarah Palin would rather spend their time tearing down Barack Obama than laying out a plan to build up our economy," Obama-Biden campaign spokesman Hari Sevugan said.
Palin said at the top of her remarks that one of her staffers had encouraged her to be more aggressive, saying, "The gloves are off, the heels are on. Go to work."
"Talk about taking the gloves off, I, too, being that outsider and only being a part of this for five weeks now, I think OK we gotta get the word out," Palin said of Obama’s connection to Ayers. “This is in fairness to the electorate; we gotta start telling people what the other side represents.”
This morning’s stop in Colorado was Palin’s third visit to the Rocky Mountain state since becoming the Republican vice presidential nominee. Palin and McCain held a joint rally in Colorado Springs on Sept. 6, and Palin returned for a solo rally in Golden on Sept. 15. The McCain-Palin campaign currently trails the Obama-Biden ticket by 4 points in the latest state-wide poll in the western battleground state.

Obama would not have been able to become a US Senator if he was in collusion with Ayers. DAH----!!!!
Just look at it this way-- HE HAS TRULY BEEN VETTED IN HIS ENTIRE POLITICAL LIFE. MOVE ON PALIN, GO HOME THE MOOSE MISS YOU! Just Heard Todd henpecked Palin has agreed to meet with the Troopergate investigator. FLIP FLOP due to the tick tock of McCain/Palin's credibility slipping through the campaign hourglass like the sands of time! It's over when Mac pulls out of Michigan. Let's take bets and say, PA is next! YES WE CAN!!

This is tiring. We're still waiting for an honorable campaign from the GOP. Instead we've had eight years of Bush and failing economy. Seems like there is more to talk about Ms. Palin.

Alaskan independence anyone? Keating five anyone? Spare us the sleazy tactics.

The economy is failing and this is what you have to offer. Sad.

When the chips are down the Mavericks look to spread as much dirt as they can.
It doesn't matter if the facts don't support the claims, but Palin & McCain have no problem in spreading as much manure as possible. It would be a terrible shame and a very scary situation if The Palin/McCain ticket wins.

GO SARAH ! The most important quality in a President is character, not the "promises" that every politician makes. Jeremish Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Tony Rezko, and other unsavory characters have been B.O.s closest friends for decades. If those names don't show a lack of both character and judgement, I don't know what does.

My state, the state of California, is in ruin. I was born here 49 years ago, and in that time it went from the "Golden State" to a state of ruin.
As a Californian and an American citizen, it is hard for me and my fellow citizens of California to admit we are no longer what we once were.
For anyone contemplating a move to California as a result of what the federal government has done to us, don't. It's worse here and about to get even worse. My adivice is stay away.
I was born in 1959, and since I can remember this state has been under democratic rule and continues to be so. Yes we have had a few republican governors come through, but still the state ha been under a democratic stranglehold for at least the 49 years I have been alive and +.
So here is my point: The democrats that have molded this state, the key word is "molded", have ruined it as a result of socialistic give aways and liberal ideology. I have lived it for 49 yaers, so be forewarned, if the US as a whole goes the ddirection of Obama and the socialist party, there will be 49 other states in the same boat as the 1 state California.
I KNOW I LIVE HERE UNDER SOCIALISTIC RULE.
I do not propose that the republican party is clean and without corruption. I do not propose that our government is clean without corruption.
What I do know is that the democratic party has ruined California, my home, my state. Just lok at the record and the legislative body that has ALWAYS been in charge.
Last point, Pelosi is a California senator who has helped to ruin my home state. I have e-mailed my senators and sate congress and they JUST DON"T GET IT.

and they bite.
sad but true, this is the stuff that motivates them to read.
sometimes I really feel alienated, but now that Palin and McCain's campaign repudiates anyone else if more than a GED or High School diploma, I wonder if it's even worth trying.

Sarah Palin represents the worst of America. McCain is hiding behind her skirts, letting her do all the trash talk. They should be ashamed that their campaign has sunk so low. Well, can't expect anything better from sleazy and crafty Rove & company. Sarah's folksy winking style is getting on everyone's nerves.

The last time this topic came up was on Fox's Bill O'Reilly show. Bill grilled Obama on his past associations with Wright,Ayers, Rezco and that a "dangerous pattern" was emerging. Why didn't Barack counter this argument by saying Bill works with someone everyday whose USA born high treason activities were second only to Tim McVey: the infamous Oliver North. As for Palin, she's resorting to dirt digging and I suppose the Dems can play that game even in the midst of this crises. The last time this country was in a banking crises, McCain was in the center of the Keating 5 scandal. While he was exonerated, and was scorned for bad judgment, it WAS in his backyard. Arizona was the epicenter of that mess.

If you sell anything that is considered income whether it is a car or a home so it is taxed where have you been. Just like what your employer pays for your health insurance right now it is not taxable income but Mc bush wants it taxed and this can put you in a different tax bracket.

Governor Palin is correct, that is a fact. Obama is friends with terrorist bomber William Ayers. The American people have a right to know this and the pro-Obama media should quit keeping this info from the public, and quit trying to intimidate the McCain camp from letting the public know. Also, let's not forget Rev. Wright and convicted felon Tony Rezko. As Joe Biden and Hillary said, Obama is not ready to be President.

Has everyone forgotten the 'dirt' throwing over the last weeks by the dims? It will take a year to catch up. Now is the time for hidden agendas and truths the dems have to come forward. The dems have continually attacked Gov Palin's looks, her family, her children. It is time to quit the holier than thou act.
