Stephanopoulos: McCain Needs a Plan
October 10, 2008 8:54 AM
ABC News George Stephanopoulos Reports: With just a few weeks left in the cycle, Republican presidential candidate John McCain's biggest problem has almost nothing to do with him and everything to do with the economy. The campaign dialogue can't break through the tremendous noise and pain brought on by financial woes that so many Americans have been feeling.
McCain has to figure out a way to tie into anger over the economy and convince voters he's got the better plan to solve the financial crisis -- it's his only real hope for victory.
McCain's latest ad goes about as far as you can go in an ad -- it's the second in two days that hits Democratic candidate Barack Obama for lying about his connection to 1960s radical Bill Ayers, though it wasn't a line of attack McCain chose to use against Obama during this week's debate.
Obama will spend the next five days in Ohio at a critical point in his presidential campaign: if he locks in the lead in Ohio, he's that much closer to locking up the race.
No single state is more important to Obama's prospects than Ohio is and no Republican has ever won the White House without winning Ohio. Right now, Obama has a small but solid lead of a few points in the state and while he's outspent Republican candidate John McCain there by about $500,000 a week, he hasn't spent much time on the ground.
By going there, hitting the ground and saturating the state with campaign efforts for the next five days, Obama's looking to lock in the lead.
Later today, the McCain campaign will also be dealing the release of a potentially damaging report by the legislative panel investigating whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused power by trying to get the state commission fired -- the investigation shows that Palin and her husband were far more involved in the incident that they have previously said.
McCain's camp tried to get ahead of the report last night by releasing their own report saying Palin broke no law.

I just think this headline on CNNs political ticker is HILLARIOUS:
"AP: Palin pre-empts state report, clears self in probe"

FROM THE BELLY OF THE BEAST:
A few Republican operatives, who declined to be named, offered blunt criticism regarding the McCain campaign.
The McCain campaign is “a joke,” one said. “There’s not a campaign in Nevada. A couple of guys, running around, being incompetent. Or even worse, arrogantly incompetent.”
The consultant said there was no discernible McCain ground game, which is political jargon for the massive effort needed to find likely supporters and get them to the polls.
He did hedge a bit, saying that if some earth-shattering event were to occur, McCain could still win in Nevada. Otherwise: “There’s not one single positive note for Republicans. I couldn’t be more pessimistic.”
The gloom is not surprising, given national polls showing Obama opening a lead and McCain playing defense in traditionally Republican states, which had included Nevada until Democratic registration drives have given the party an advantage of 80,000 voters.
THIS IS GOING TO BE A LANDSLIDE

*McCain's chance to have won the election passed when he voted for the Bailout. He could've been a maverick and voted against it until all the pork was taken out.
*Then he double downed on his lost by introducing a horrible plan tuesday night. By all the mortages. With what money?
It's over. I'm not voting. It's pointless.

The ads by McCain are really over the top. Obama was 8 years old when this happened. I am so tired of this slam.. There's enough garbage on both sides to make all of America not vote for either of them.
I was going to vote for McCain until he started blasting Obama. He has enough in his own past..Adultery...very important issue for me...When Cindy McCain said she got a good one, my thoughts were: Why didn't you choose one who was single?
I want a president that I can respect. Please stop these horrible ads.

Deep Release: McCain Needs a Clue

PLAN the American people need more then a plan. They need answers and leadership these two can not give it.

30 states have early voting. It's too little too late for a "plan". America needs a President with vision and a steady hand. McCain has proven time and time again during this campaign, he is as unsteady, inconsistent and ill-equipped for the White House.

MCain needs to connect his reformer record and leadership to the ability to understand and correct this crisis.Of course media will overplay the gloom and doom news so it will dominate coverage till the election day. Also he needs to connect Obama's tissue paper thin resume of accomplishments and his lack of candor on a whole host of issues to a pattern that will be on display as president and someone in charge of solving the economic crisis.
In any event both of them have a very tough task come January.Obama supporters need to tealize this is not a popularity contest with a ticker tape finale on Nov 4,the tough work actually just begins in January.

Guaranteed LANDSLIDE:
McCain is losing in ALL of the battleground states at a time when he needs to run the table on 8 of 10 of them to keep it close.
To top it off, he's losing Red states like Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana and now Georgia.
My Fellow Enemies: "THAT ONE" is going to put a classic example of a Chicago Whoop A** on me and the GOP that I will never forget.
ELECTORAL VOTES:
Obama - 363
McCain - 184
BLOWOUT

What is John McCain's Middle name? Why dont people just spat out his middle name whenever we speak of him? Why does it matter that Barracks middle name is Hussein? It doesn't. do you realize that the only time we ever here of someones middle name is when they are suspected or convicted of some crime. (Lee Harvey Oswald, John wilkes booth, etc) It is an attempt to Paint Obama a terrorist, a criminal, an outsider, That one, the other guy, a muslim, Period. Call it what it is. His middle name has no boundaries for his enemies. Tragically the far right needs to paint him that way to disguise there real intention (Steal the election AGAIN) and to destroy the positive feeling the majority of Americans have about an Obama Presidency.

same team
same tactics
9th year
and mccain needs to come up with a plan and be honest about his VP nominee...
Vogler a murdered domestic terrorist who wants to secede from the US...founds AIP in the 70's
to fight for secession...
in 1993 he is killed trying to buy plastic explosives for domestic terrorism for said party's beliefs
in the wake of his being murdered...
1994 - AIP draws up the constitution to secede from the US
Todd and Sarah Palin attend.
1995 - Todd Palin officially joins AIP to become a 7-9 year active member...
2000 - Palin attends again.
2006 - Palin is still so "inspired" and supportive of this secessionist group, she gives the keynote speech.
2008 - Palin video tapes her support for this party.
this party was founded on the beliefs of secession and the same values that Vogler was willing to kill people over.
unrepentantly.
values and beliefs that in the year they were mourning his death adn drawing up a constitution Todd Palin was inspired to join... and Sarah Palin obviously found their values compelling enough to support and attend their conventions.
ugh

It seems to me that McCains plan changes every week. I don't think his campaign has a clue. They are running around like chickems with their heads cut off. Kind of reminds me of Hillary.

we got here through lies cover ups and distractions over the issues and manipulation of policies...
what is the mcCain/Palin campaign doing...
continuing that tradition.
throw these bums out.

John McCain,
OUR RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS ARE EVAPORATING. And all you can talk about is how Barack Obama sat on some education reform panels with another University of Chicago Professor?
Are you out of your mind?

Dove - Real simple. Sydney is not as scary as Hussain. Since the Republicans are using scare tactics to garner votes it is more effective. Just another reason why you should keep your childs name simple and easy to spell like Paul and Chris.
