Still Waiting for Those Records…
October 24, 2008 11:32 AM
ABC News’ Kate Snow Reports: Sources inside Governor Palin's campaign say it's just taking a little while to pull together years of medical records for the Governor. Aides suggest that the Governor is not trying to hide anything and they repeat her words to NBC’s Brian Williams the other night-- that she is "healthy” and “happy”.
Asked this morning if they plan to release any medical records today, Governor Palin’s spokeswoman Maria Comella said no.
“The statement I gave you yesterday still applies,” she told ABC News.
That statement was: "At the point where we have info to release regarding her records we'll let everyone know."
On Wednesday, Governor Palin said she would be “fine” with releasing her records.
She is the only one of the presidential or vice presidential candidates who has not released any health information about herself.
Palin did suggest that releasing her records could be fodder for political attacks of some kind.
“So be it, if that will allow some curiosity seekers, perhaps, to have one more thing that they can either check the box off that they can find something to criticize, perhaps, or find something to rest them assured over. Fine. I'm healthy, I'm happy, had five kids. That is going to be in the medical records. Never been seriously ill or hurt. You will see that in the medical records if they're released,” Palin told Williams.

Obama did not release his medical records. he released a one page summary from a doctor. Get real. Where is the post demanding Obama's medical records?!

"Aides suggest that the Governor is not trying to hide anything"
To paraphrase good ol' Shakespeare; they doth protest too much, methinks.

The world is still waiting for Obama to produce his birth certifiate as well. I'd say verification that you are actually eligible to run for president is worth producing.

We are still waiting for Obamas medical records and school transcripts, any word on this Katie?

What is she hiding? An abortion? The fake pregnancy? There are a lot of questions. Obama.. what does he have t hide? He is in perfect health.

Evan;
Well can we at least get something released? She hasn't provided anything at all. Why would she say that a report would be inviting political attacks? What on there would invite an attack...Just sounds odd.

Forget troopergate and expensive clothes. At this point I'll settle for someone who can speak in coherent sentences.
I mean, this is like Harriett Miers stuff.
Republicans need to understand - the country is more than ready for women in prominent positions. We're just not ready to elevate the dumber representatives of the gender.

A 276 word one page summary from your doctor saying you are in good health IS NOT medical records! Again with the free pass.

McCain was born in Panama. Technically he's ineligible to run for President.

Typical late Friday afternoon medical news coming from McCain/Palin.

Yes, we are still waiting for Bill Clinton's medical records.
And in lieu of records--Obama released a one page note from Doctor Nick Riviera saying that Obama is okey-dokey.
The media is salivating at the thought of more slanderous gutter stories they can start running, based on insignificant details of Palin's medical history. Alan Colmes already charged her with poor pre-natal care in the birth of her Down's syndrome baby.

why worry about a 44 year old, 5 kids mom, sports loving, never a drug user or smoker woman's health? Use common sense!
The following records are far more important, we MUST have those:
1. Obama's state senate record. This was pressed by Hillary during primary. It's been so long time, why he doesn't show? If he doesn't have, how can he claim he is change agent? What did he change?
2. Obama's small donors.
3. Obama's involvement in the legislatives, state legal cases. What cases did he settle? How did he settle? What's he involved in Tony Rezko's case?
4. Obama's health record. He was drug users, smoker. That will hugely affect his health.
The media is so biased.

And on to real issues:
The Obama website has this cool tax calculator up now. Plus in your particulars - simplified for campaign purposes, of course, we're not talking TurboTax here - and you'll see your additional tax cut under both Obama's and McCain's plans.
Can someone explain to McCain that there's more to the economy than taxes?

Apparently, on Obama’s released tax records, he discloses income from speaking fees. The problem? Accepting payment for speaking fees when you’re a legislator is against Illinois state law
Apparently, as an Illinois state legislator through 2004, Barack was prohibited from taking honoraria for speaking under the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act
But what about Barack Obama’s 2000 and 2002 tax returns?
2000: On his 2000 Schedule C-EZ, Barack reported that he received $16,500 as a “Foundation director/Educational speaker.”
2001: On his 2001 Schedule C-EZ, Barack reported $98,158 from a Chicago law firm, Miner, Barnhill, for “Legal services/attorney” (and nothing for speaking)
2002: On his 2002 Schedule C, Barack reported $34,491 for “LEGAL SERVCES / SPEAKING FEES.”
These “speaking fees” are in addition to the amounts that Barack was paid as an employee, a lecturer at the University of Chicago, reported on the first page of his 1040s.
That’s not change we can believe in.
Just to sum up, the media can find Joe the Plumber’s tax woes within 24 hours of his having dared to question The One’s narrative, but they can’t find a clear ethical violation in the released records of a man who has been campaigning for President for two years now.
Another truth-telling moment brought to you by our fair and objective news media.

"Alan Colmes already charged her with poor pre-natal care in the birth of her Down's syndrome baby."
I didn't hear that, but you know there is at least a shred of truth about it. Getting on a plane for a long flight when you're already in labor is pretty dumb. I guess she wanted the kid to be a naturalized Alaskan citizen, in case they do pull off the secession thing.
Oh, and the way they drag that kid out late at night, in crowded and loud settings, just to use for a political prop...
Sorry, I have a hard time believing a governor and candidate for vice president can't find a sitter, so the infant doesn't have to be out past 11 p.m.

The discovered today that Biden, who had an aneuryism, didn't follow up on his mri. This should be a headline story, but instead it's something you would have to do searching to find.
ABC news is absolutely outrageous with bias. Anything and everything to smear and attack this woman. Unbelievable.

I think its safe to say in the history of our nation, never has anyone run for the vice presidency before who didn't understand the job was different than Senate majority leader.
In that sense, she's already made history.

Evan: Obama has never had any major issues that required a large medical folder. He did his regular check up and has been fine. There are several of people out there who have small records.
Now, if you are McCain who has cancer, or Palin who has had 5 babies their files would be larger. Much larger.
