Biden Shows Cub Scouts Around His Plane

Before boarding his plane in Tallahassee, Fla., Sunday afternoon, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., spotted a group of Tiger Cub Scouts visiting the airport firehouse on a field trip.

"You guys are so nice, now what are you guys doing today?" Biden asked them.

"We looked at a fire station and…and now we’re going to go look at the plane," replied one of the boys.

"Oh man, you’re gonna look at a plane?" said Biden. "Well, I don’t know, maybe you can come over and look at our plane. You guys wanna come and see my plane?"

"Yeah!" the boys shouted in unison.

So after getting permission from their parents, the veep nominee then walked the blue-and-orange clad group over to his charter jet.

As they walked along the tarmac, one boy told Biden, "I heard of you on TV."

"No kidding?" replied the veep nominee.

"You’re Barack Obama’s running mate."

"Yeah, I’m Barack Obama’s running mate," Biden replied. "Come on, we’re gonna go over here. We’ll take you inside and show you, OK? I’m gonna get in trouble, but come on."

Biden and the boys then bounded up the steps on the large blue plane, where the senator gave the scouts a tour of the cockpit.

"Are all those people taking video cameras of you?" one boy asked Biden, noting the reporters following the lawmaker’s every move.

"Well they take video cameras of me, they follow me because they think I might be vice president some day," responded Biden.

Just a few days after Halloween, one kid noticed a vat of candy.

"Is that your snacks?" he asked Biden.

"That’s our snacks," Biden said, before whispering, "You can sneak one if you want."

After a few minutes –- and a few Tootsie Rolls -– they all descended the stairs, then giving Biden a quick Cub Scout cheer and salute.

His impromptu Cub Scout tour concluded, Biden then jetted off to Gainesville, continuing his daylong tour of the Sunshine State....

Aengil, personally, I give money to my church every week. In fact, I write a check, drop it in the collection plate and take a tax deduction. Now, are you telling me that my Biden makes all of his donations to his church in the collection plate in the form of cash. If so, he is too stupid to be VP!

What a great story about Biden! It's very Americana.

But nothing is more fun then reading these right wingers commenting on articles. Whatever Fox News/McCain/Palin tells them to care about that day, is what they attack with.

Attack, attack, attack. Never really why anyone should vote for McCain-Palin, just why not to vote for Obama-Biden.

Posted by: TooDarkMark | Nov 2, 2008 7:33:03 PM

Just to answer two right wing threads here.

Stop pretending to be Democrats and then attack the Democratic candidate, and "worry" about Democrats running the Senate and House. It's such a Right Wing thing to do. You all live in a make believe world, and then go online and role play as "decenters" from your party. It's very sad. In reality tons of conservative newspapers, and prominent conservatives have switched to Obama. Reagen's Chief of Staff trumps some pretend comments you make on a website. Obama is polling better with Democrats than McCain is polling with Republicans. And yet that 9% of Democrats not into Obama seem to ALWAYS be commenting on articles on the web.

Also Heretic, you DO NOT, no matter how much you think you may, KNOW how much money Biden gives to charity. I give to charity all the time, and have NEVER reported it on my taxes. Maybe we're not all as obsessed with getting tax breaks for our charitable work as you may be.

Posted by: TooDarkMark | Nov 2, 2008 7:41:55 PM

AmericanHeretic: Oh, of course you do. But are you seriously arguing that everyone does, and if they don't, they're stupid? Are you really completely unaware of any of the reasonable justifications for not doing so? Really?

And note that the argument that he's greedy because he gives so little money to charity and you know he doesn't give more because he'd declare everything he gives because he's greedy is circular.

I suggest you spend some time researching everything Biden and his wife do before reaching conclusions based on tax returns which necessarily do not tell the whole story.

TooDarkMark, it is irrelevant what you do. The fact is the Biden has been called on his paltry giving and the only retort is that he sometimes puts money in the collection plate. That is no answer. How often Joe? How much Joe? Gee, Joe, are you just lying for political expediency?

Hey Obamacrat for McCain,

No one with a brain believes you ever supported Senator Obama and did you seriously call Warren Buffett a communist?

That's a oxymoron if I ever heard one. He's the epitome of a capitalist. How many rich communist do you know?

LOL

You are right TooDarkMark,

McCain's whole campaign has been attack and distract and his Fox News followers seem to do the same while Senator Obama keeps calmly talking about the issues.

The Associated Press watched it, and surprisingly, the 30-minute infomercial also failed to impress them:

“Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was LESS THAN UPFRONT in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office.

Obama’s assertion that “I’ve offered spending cuts above and beyond” the expense of his promises is accepted ONLY by his partisans. His vow to save money by “eliminating programs that don’t work” masks his FAILURE throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are - beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.”

Calvin Woodward reports that Obama misled viewers on at least five key points in his 30-minute final argument:

--Health care costs - Obama claimed his plan would lower costs by $2500 per year per family, but it DOES NOT. In fact, Obama can’t point to any particular cost reductions. He plans to spend $50 billion over five years on modernization and chronic-disease prevention and presumes that this will lower costs in the future, but in the meantime it RAISES COSTS at least in the short run on everyone (the $50 billion doesn’t come out of thin air).

--The Pay-Go of his plans - NO, he hasn’t demonstrated that he’s found the revenue for his spending, despite his claims last night. Non-partisan analysts believe that his spending programs will ADD at least $428 billion to the DEFICIT in his first term, and that’s if you accept his non-specific pledge to cut spending in other areas.

--Tax cuts for working class families - Before the commercial aired, he had already begun BACKING AWAY from that idea because of the financial crisis, although Obama didn’t acknowledge it in the ad.

--The “right” to affordable health care - Obama DOES NOT guarantee coverage in any of his plans, at least not for adults.

--Getting out of Iraq - Obama noted that the US spends $10 billion a month in Iraq and talked again about “bringing that war to a close” — but he’s BACKED AWAY from his previous pledges to get out on a strict 16-month timetable, which is as fast as the remaining units can be properly withdrawn.

Update America Break:
If Obama wanted to tax only the rich, Obama would have suggested a flat rate tax to remove all the tax loopholes used by the rich, and that includes Warren Buffet’s hidden billion dollar funds setup just for his family. Obama is a phony and he fools only the fools.

Obama continues to deceive America voters. Obama supporters talk about Governor Sarah Palin, but Obama keeps lying to be the president. No one can believe a person that continues to lie about his program and continuously deceives the voting public. Obama supporters cannot substantiate their rhetoric.

Update America does not respond to any Obama supporters without credentials.

Update America,

Obama is not talking about taxing the rich only. He is talking about the rich paying their fair share. Warren Buffett supports the rich including himself paying more taxes. He has talked about the inequities for a long time. The Bush tax cuts were a disaster and need to be recalled.

Why don't you spend some time telling us what McCain will do differently than Bush? It should be a short list.

Posted by: Sarah | Nov 2, 2008 8:20:03 PM

Update America's credentials are that he voted for George Bush twice. That pretty much says it all.

Biden betrayed the gay vote.

He should have run them off the taxpayer funded airport.

After all, that is their strategy for the Boy Scouts. Anywhere that's supporting the Scouts needs to be attacked, taake awy things from the children, like funding for "at rish" (i.e., minority kids in the ghetto) to pressure the adult leadership.

Give the Nazis some credit over the gay mafia. While they burned the village, salted the fields and killed the adults, their reprisal at least spared the children.

That reprisal was the village of Lidice.

Why is Biden wasting any time with a Fascist organization like the Cub Scouts???

Obama, Jan 2008:
"If somebody wants to build a coal power plant they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted," Barack Obama said to the San Francisco Chronicle in January.

A profile in political courage this is not. Given his recent gaffe on redistributionism, though, it’s probably smart. ABC’s Jake Tapper tried to get Obama to talk about his plans for the economic rescue plan, but Obama refused:

JT: What would you tell your Treasury Secretary to do differently with the $700 billion?

Obama: We’re on a tarmac.

JT: Why don’t you have a press conference?

Obama: I will. On Wednesday.

Remember when the media screeched over Sarah Palin’s lack of press availability after the convention? Neither Obama nor Joe Biden have taken questions from the press in weeks. If Palin’s fortnight of preparation somehow revealed her unreadiness for higher office, what does this say about Barack Obama?

Obama, Jan 2008, SF Chronicle.

"The problem is not technical, uh, and the problem is not mastery of the legislative intricacies of Washington. The problem is, uh, can you get the American people to say, “This is really important,” and force their representatives to do the right thing? That requires mobilizing a citizenry. That requires them understanding what is at stake. Uh, and climate change is a great example.

You know, when I was asked earlier about the issue of coal, uh, you know — Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers."

At least those little cubbys saw what an extravagant life style a rich socialist commisarr leads and if they don't get sued by the Obamatrons because of their belief in God, will one day aspire to top commisarr. I thought I saw O'Biden's hand in one Cubs back pocket. Some one check that out. Welcome to the U.S.S.A. United States of Socialist America.
