Jeb Bush Stars in McCain-Palin Florida TV Ad

November 01, 2008 3:17 PM

ABC News' Tahman Bradley Reports A Bush appears in an unannounced ad for the McCain-Palin ticket this weekend in a key swing state. No, not that Bush, of course.

Popular former Florida Governor Jeb Bush vouches for Sen. John McCain in a 30-second Spanish-language spot about taxes and spending, as first reported on ThePage.Time.com.

Watch the ad HERE.

The release of the ad means that Jeb Bush has now done more for McCain this campaign than his brother, the forty-third president of the United States.

George W. Bush, who currently holds the worst approval rating of his career, has popped up in plenty of campaign ads this year. All of them, however, are spots by McCain's rival Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.

The Bush Spanish ad comes as McCain tries to energize supporters across Florida to overcome an early voting deficit. According to numbers obtained by ABC News, 1,747,189 Democrats had cast ballots in Florida, compared to 1,461,746 Republicans and 635,806 independents, as of this morning.

The Arizona senator's path to the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency becomes extremely difficult should he lose the Sunshine State's 27 electoral votes.

WHY I AM VOTING FOR SEN. OBAMA SO AS TO FURTHER THE AGENDA OF DR. RON PAUL
October 30, 2008

SUMMARY

I love and respect Dr. Ron Paul and Ms. Carol Paul. They are wise, loving and courageous.

I am voting for Senator Obama because if I vote for my candidate of choice, Dr. Ron Paul, we might see a repeat of the last election and end up with a warmongering, inarticulate, Republican warmongering President who never really had to live in my shoes as a member of the struggling middle-class.

I believe that the American People are slowly becoming wise enough to see through the blatant manipulation of election results by the mainstream media that is owned and controlled by big business and by the two reigning political parties.

I am confident that by the next Presidential election in 2012 that the majority of American Citizens will know about:

1) the beliefs and record of Dr. Ron Paul;

2) the weakness of our present two party system; and

3) the existence and party platforms of other alternatives such as Green, Constitution and Libertarian parties. I am confident that the REVOLUTION Dr. Ron Paul started against the big business controlled media and two reigning political parties will continue to benefit our nation for the greater good.

MY RATIONALE

Socialist Universal Health Insurance

I say - BRING IT ON! Our present health care system benefits big business and illegal aliens, not the American citizen or the American health care providers. I have lived without health insurance and I know from personal experience that the present system degrades the health of American Citizens on a daily basis. Once all Americans have health care - without the huge glut of illegal aliens - we can consider other options as Dr. Paul suggests. I see it as a possible evolution from where we are now to where we and Dr. Paul wants us to be.

Charlie Crist now Jeb? Oh yeah someone really wants McCain to lose that state.

How about a quick spot with some clips of Richard Nixon in it.

thank you Judy Janice is all wet, she must like being ignored with a president with tunnel vision, one that can't multi task, had to pay back his backers that is the real reason we are in a war that can not be won. Face it people as long as there is hate there is terror can't win a war like that. Remember Cain and Able

Jeb, we missed you. moving in on another election, eh? well it's only decent to do for Senator McCain what you did for your brother. did you get to any of the klan rallies Sarah was having? did you stand up and say "if you are a racist you have no place here?" of course you didn't. you just smiled like the good governor of Florida did as he nodded with a big smile to the chants of "McCain, not Hussein", "get out of this country", "terrorist", "traitor".
but hey, keep the endorsements coming, they can't get any worse. i know there are war criminals who will endorse in exchange for immunity from prosecution.

just keep your hate out of my state!

Jeb Bush...not a big fan here, even though I'm a Republican. Don't like Crist, either. Now, Bobby Jindal, there's a heck of a governor.

Posted by: Grand Old Party | Nov 2, 2008 12:01:54 AM

Best governor we had was Graham back in the 80's.. although Chiles did a heck of a job as well. Bush really didn't do too much other than help his brother rig the election in 2000. I don't think Crist has been in office long enough to have made any difference.. time will tell.

As for Jeb staring in a McCain ad.. don't think it's a good move. It is funny that this election cycle, everybody from democrats to republicans are scared to death of being branded anything even remotely resembling Bush. Between McCains pick of the Moose Hunter and his mirror image of Bush policies, he has killed his chance of crossing off one of his 'bucket list' items. Even Bushs brother is just another reminder of the similarities between the two.

But, Jeb aside, republicans are flocking to Obama in massive numbers this year.. and for good reason. Latest to cross the line would be former Reagan chief of staff Ken Duberstein I guess. And while some doubted a Powell endorsement would do any good, Ken did mention it as one of the reasons he has decided to cross the party line, saying:

"Well let's put it this way - I think Colin Powell's decision is in fact the good housekeeping seal of approval on Barack Obama."

Powell served as national security advisor to Reagan during Duberstein's tenure as chief of staff.

John McCain's policies are very similar to Presidant Hoover. Take this from an old man who was born in 1933 and as a child watched as many familys came past our home and asked for a meal which my mother would give to them. They were good people and would say a prayer of thanks to God and my parents. Then they would continue on their way. I did not know where they were going and worried if they would have a roof over their heads at night. We had very little our selves and may never have asked. I wonder if we are headed under this capitalstic system with the wealth in the hands of the very few. The very rich seem to be in great terror that they may have to pay a fair tax on their mostly ill-gotten wealth which they claim to have worked so hard. They should try digging their existence out of a rocky hillside for a garden as we did as familys and children during Hoovers republican administration. Back then we had what they called old age pention, which if you were lucky enough to be qualified after the age of sixty five, would get a check which may be in the range of ten to twenty dollars a month. If it wasn't for the Democratic Party the American people would not have social security, medicare, pensions, Unions, and unemployment benefits that we do today because the Republican Party have always called it Socialism and has fought it, tooth and nail, and will to stop any entitlement benefits for the old, the disabled, the widows, the poor and the sick.
But they are very happy to have the sons and daughters of these same people to fight and protect their fortunes when they are threatened. An old indian once said a man who sends his women to do his fighting for him is a disgrace I and a cowered.
I'm afraid that the great sacrifices of our people from the American Revolution through till Irac may have been forgotten by our legislators and our leaders in Washington.
The Patriotism and loality of our sons and daughters are to be commended and I pray for their victory and safe return every day. I pray for their familys who
seem to be alone in their greatest of all sacrifices and stress that they endure for all of us. The blood and the wounds of our solders should shame any wealthy or poor man whining about paying too much taxes to support their efforts and sacrifices for us.

The Great Depression lasted as long as it did because it benefited FDR and the Social Democrats-kept them in power for five straight terms.

I'll agree with the union part-when unions were strongest Americans were more prosperous. Labor is a negotiable commodity just like any raw material or machinery.

I want all of you deluded, moronic liberals to remember this particular comment three years from now...and also think back really hard what it was really like during those horrible years of Bush before your socialist friends took power in 2006 and 2008. Your in for a very shocking next 4 years if your messiah gets elected. You think this is all just right wing fear and the usual politics of propaganda. I take your messiah, believe it or not, at his word...you are about to change history all right, but not quite as I think all of you are dreamingly expecting. This is what you are going to get: serious weakness in US military capability and very compromised security, government expansion and huge tax burden on all those in mid and upper income brackets, a huge welfare state never seen before, another attack on US soil that will make 9-11 look rather ridiculous and small, runaway inflation and a continued depressed stock market, and very high unemployment rates. When this all happens as it will, another prediction, you will all be ranting and raving and blaming it all On Bush W many years after he has left office. This is what you do best...

Look-I live in FLA and that Fat b%%tard Jeb may be the worst bush of all. What a criminal. McCain should distance himself-whatever language.

But I guess it really doesn't matter-with a running mate like that idiot, Palin.

Forget aout 2008, McCain-thanks to GWB.

Simon, I agree with your comments 100%. Haiti will look good in comparsion after these clowns are done. In fact I'm going to buy a new air mattress before the prices go up along with the sales tax.

I live in Florida and Jeb Bush was an EXCELLENT Governor. He would have been elected to a 3rd term here if it had been possible.

Jeb Bush was like the Ronald Reagan of Florida. That is why Charlie Crist got elected.
