Obama Supporters Swarm White House

ABC News Jon Garcia reports: Hundreds of cheering, screaming students from George Washington University in Washington DC streamed into the streets and down Pennsylvania Ave to chant and gloat out in front of the White House.

The students, who'd gathered the University's Marvin Center to watch election returns, said they decided to take their celebration to the White House after the networks called the race for Sen. Barack Obama at 11pm.

Though they were loud, its hard to know if the current President, who was busy calling both President-elect Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain, could hear them.

But they chanted nonetheless -- "Yes We Can!" and "Yes We Did!" The US Secret Service moved to threat level yellow because of the size of the crowd gathered outside the White House.

Despite the heightened threat level, agents along the fence line were overheard saying they weren't worried. "C'mon, these guys are peaceful and celebrating," one agent said.  Some students yelled "Goodbye!" toward the North Portico of the residence.

But many started to filter away around midnight right before Obama took the stage in Chicago.  Because after all, the only thing they wanted to do more than jeer at President Bush was to hear President-Elect Obama's acceptance speech.

Can we make the swap next week? I'm not sure we can handle Bush in office another couple of months.

It's a landslide. W called his squeaker in 2004 "a mandate." This is a *real* mandate.

'DAMN IT, WILL YOU TELL THEM TO WAIT A MINUTE? I NEED TO FINISH MY SMOKE IN THIS HEAR BATHROOM IN THE WHITEYHOUSE, I'LL BE RIGHT UP THERE FOR THAT MEETING IN A MINUTE! OH TELL MY KIDS TO QUIT SWINGING FROM THE CHANDELIERS TOO! AND DON'T LET ANYONE IN THE LINCOLN BEDROOM, WE ARE HAVING A CRACK PARTY AND GAY SEX!

yep, and then we've got his kids swinging on the chandeliers in the White House, while he's doing coke and sneaking cigs in the bathroom before a meeting. And the revival of affirmitive action, slave reparations and all kinds of horrors.

This is acceptable behavior to a President?

And how would these people expect others to be towards Obama when he's President?

Not a mandate when most of your voters have no clue as to why they supported Obama.

Google Howard Stern in Harlem and watch the video. I dare you.

willy, what kind of name is that, anyway?

It sounds really gay.

But I can tell from your postings, you're in love with my husband and you better get out from under his desk and wipe off your sticky lips.

If you want to move to Kenya with me!

Maybe now the news networks will realize that gen y is after all interested in real news world affairs politics, and changing the world.
That gen y and even gen X are not just lightweights feeding on abercrombie , starbucks and everyday texting.
My dream.
we see a return to more politics and documentary programming, as well as 1/2 hour news broadcast without commercials on all 4 major networks.

Obama as president will probably work out, but it doesn't change the cold fact that many of his supporters are total idiots.

I firmly believe that Palin lost the election for McCain. He should have picked Lieberman (his personal choice). It was the republican party that pushed him into choosing Palin. He is much more moderate than how he presented himself in the campaign.

So the worst you can say about Michelle is that you don't like how she looks. Is that the only think that is important to you? Personally, I think she is beautiful.
