Obama Supporters Swarm White House

ABC News Jon Garcia reports: Hundreds of cheering, screaming students from George Washington University in Washington DC streamed into the streets and down Pennsylvania Ave to chant and gloat out in front of the White House.

The students, who'd gathered the University's Marvin Center to watch election returns, said they decided to take their celebration to the White House after the networks called the race for Sen. Barack Obama at 11pm.

Though they were loud, its hard to know if the current President, who was busy calling both President-elect Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain, could hear them.

But they chanted nonetheless -- "Yes We Can!" and "Yes We Did!" The US Secret Service moved to threat level yellow because of the size of the crowd gathered outside the White House.

Despite the heightened threat level, agents along the fence line were overheard saying they weren't worried. "C'mon, these guys are peaceful and celebrating," one agent said.  Some students yelled "Goodbye!" toward the North Portico of the residence.

But many started to filter away around midnight right before Obama took the stage in Chicago.  Because after all, the only thing they wanted to do more than jeer at President Bush was to hear President-Elect Obama's acceptance speech.

Ahh, the smell of the rabid right as they wither and die on the vine. Another toast of bubbly to you as you sink into the depths of history.

Remember, a mind is a terrible thing to waste.. particularly since they make great fertilizer for backyard gardens, no matter how 'lil' they are.

All GOP losers must now return to their jobs as village idiots. The party is over! Take the head imbecile from the White House with you. And those who can't stand the idea of Obama as president should commit suicide. We'll provide the Zyklon B.

Hussein's supporters swarm the whitey house because they think there is free burgers and chitlinks on the front lawn.
The only thing that was proven tonite is that the ghetto in the USA is now so big that it can elect a president. The ghettolardasses with their stupid food-stamp raised criminals-to-be multi-children litter. The useless freeloader out-of-jail on probation in-hiding babydaddy that can't do anything but recycle aluminum cans for a living. So used to the ghetto life that expects the government support forever. You all think that Hussein will give away lots of money for burgers and chitlinks. I wouldn't be surprised if Hussein celebrated victory sacrificing a goat with his Kenya corn feeders and muslim insurgent friends on the front lawn of the white house. Hey, why stop there, install some spinner rims on the presidential limo. Piss_on the koran.

Love how people from both sides actually waste their time to direct comments at each other on an internet posting like a bunch of 5 year olds. Way to stay classy everyone. Both sides aren't perfect and never will be....

I supported McCain, but I hope Obama will be a good president, and accept that the best man won. I certainly know that he would not approve of gloating...good luck to everybody and I hope the US really does move to a better place...

Not an Obama supporter, but it seems we have way more juvenile name-calling than gloating going on here. To some folks posting above: your racism is showing!

I predict 4 years from now Hussein's popularity will be as bad as our REAL president Mr. George W. Bush. Faced with all the lemons the world has thrown at Bush, Obama would have turned the other cheek in favor of his islamist terrorist friends. You idiotic ignorant people incapable of understanding global pressures with inherent economic consecuences, you sold your country to islam. Piss_on the koran.

Whether you voted for one party or another, for one candidate or against the other, one of the largest voter turnouts in years past has spoken. So let's stop bickering about the could have, would have, didn't happen, might happen and would have been nice if it had happened and instead focus all that energy starting tomorrow morning on getting us out of the mess we are in...

Most colored voters interviewed on TV said this election was not about race, just before mentioning that they voted for Hussein because it honored Martin Luther King. Now, these are the pea brains that elected what will inevitably become the one that destroyed the United States of America.
The complasency displayed by the muslim tolerant democrats will lead this country to a civil war. Your inability to understand that these ignorant prophet muhamad good-for-nothing followers will kill anything not islamic is astaunding. Piss_on the koran.

I would think that the political thought and speech found in posts on a news website such as abcnews.com would hold a higher level of intelligence and respect than what I'm seeing here. President George Bush is still President George Bush. President-Elect Barack Obama is President-Elect and will be our next President. Senator John McCain is still a Senator from Arizona. There wives are both beautiful, intelligent women and deserve more respect (especially because they are both mothers of wonderful children) than what is being left on this website tonight. It is this kind of party-toting rhetoric that has put America in the horrible place that it is in today. Our founding fathers and the people that elected them had more respect for themselves, their political opponents, even their enemies than you have demonstrated tonight. Tonight, President Bush told President-Elect Obama that he would help make the transition of power a smooth transition. President-Elect Obama said that he would still be my president, even though I didn't vote for him today. I hope that they both keep those promises. I hope that the leaders who we have elected today (and those whose seats were not challenged today) will heighten the political respect and debate in our country. I hope they can lead us to see that the kind of garbage that is being posted here runs exactly against the fabric of what America used to be and should be today. I pray that America has not seen its best day. I pray that that day is in front of us all.

I'm really happy for Obama for winning presidency even though I was rooting for McCain. I figure if you cant beat 'em, join 'em.

Find a rock, crawl under it & die! Your ignorance is sickening and this great country can certainly do without!

History was made tonight whether you like it or not!

You can have the blogs...

...we own the White House and the Nation. We'll settle for that.:-)

GW TOOK OVER THE WHITE HOUSE!!! that was amazing...I am so happy to be a part of this day and this moment in history... The Marvin Center celebration was amazing and then just sprinting over to the White House with so much adrenaline and happiness in our bodies. Couldn't have asked for a better life experience. Obama is going to change this country for the better. He is a wonderful man with such a big heart and I am so proud of the choice this country has made. Everything about this day screams hope and change.
Thank you future President Obama for making it possible.

One of the greatest things about this night is the fact that those who are still spouting racial epitaphs on this forum will stand out like sore thumbs all across America and make it much more easier for us to see the true enemies of this country.Their ugliness will make it much easier for us to show our younger generations what happens to people when you don't have God in your life.

Dear Obama,

Please submit the final payment to my courier in the morning. Don't forget, all $20 non-sequential bills, no markers. I will never say a word about our agreement, scout's honor.

Word up,

Joe
