Palin Punk'd By Prank Call

ABC News David Wright, Alyssa Litoff, and Bret Hovell report: Foreign relations never were her strong suit, so perhaps it's understandable that Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin actually appeared to believe that French President Nicholas Sarkozy would call her out of the blue to talk about "unting" and "Joe le plumber."

Perhaps her first hint that it was actually a crank call should have been "Sarkozy's" admission that "from my 'ouse, I can see Belgium."

A French Canadian DJ from station CKY engaged Palin in a friendly 7 minute phone conversation before he finally revealed to her that she had been pranked. Listen to the audio HERE.

"You know, I can see you as President one day," the caller cooed, in an accent like Pepe Le Pew.

Palin giggled.  "Maybe in 8 years!" she said.

Pepe said he'd love to go hunting with her.  She readily agreed.

"I think we could have a lot of fun together as we're getting work done," Palin told him.  "We could kill two birds with one stone that way.

"I just love killing animals, take away life, that is so fun," the phony Sarkozy said.

Palin giggled.

"I'd really like to go," he said, "as long as we don't bring vice president Cheney!"

"No," Palin reassured him, "I'll be a careful shot."

The fake French president told Palin his wife, Carla Bruni, was jealous he was calling her.

"Give her a big hug from me," Palin said.

The dubious Frenchman then sang the praises of a "documentary" about Palin: "Ustler's Nailin Palin."

Palin thanked him, but seemed to not know what he was talking about.

After the caller finally revealed to Palin she had been pranked, Palin asked to know the call letters of the radio station.  She then passed the phone to her aide, who quickly hung up.  The real President Sarkozy does not speak fluent English.

The Palin campaign confirms that it was the Governor on the line. "Governor Palin was mildly amused to learn that she had joined the ranks of heads of state, including President Sarkozy, and other celebrities in being targeted by these pranksters. C'est la vie,"  Palin spokesman Tracey Schmitt said in a written statement.

Needless to say, the McCain campaign was not amused.

I used to support Sen. Obama, but the Obama campaign continues to waste our time on non-issues and fake-controversies generated by their campaign with the cooperation of their pet mainstream-media. They said Gov. Palin was stoking hate in the crowds as if it was fact when in fact, after SS investigation, the "kill him" allegation was a fabrication, generated by the mainstream-media and the Obama campaign. They said in a single voice Gov. Palin was stupid and corrupt, and they "validated" that by citing reputable conservatives making that argument, except they take their quotes out of context, when one said "the mainstream media makes her out to be stupid and corrupt." They said, in a single voice, that Sarah Palin's wardrobe is too expensive, when it is revealed, all politicians do that so they have something expensive and high-profile to auction off for top dollar to charities. They know that, they just rather generate false controversies and run out the clock nursing their lead than to talk about the real issues: i.e. Sen. Obama criticizing our Constitution because it is restrictive in nauture and didn't mandate distribution of weath (quote). Sen. Obama saying the Warren court wasn't radical enough for him. Him toasting Rashid Khalidi, yes, the Palestinian terrorist. His accepting tens of millions of dollars in campaign contributions from the likes of Hamas, posing as small donors under $200, of course. What deal have you struck with Hamas already, Sen. Obama? they rather make stuff up about Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin than to address the real issues of our day.

Obmacrat for McCain. All that you disapprove of in Obama is also magnified by McCain:
1. Khalidi: also supported by MCcant
2. Ayers? What about G Gordon Liddy
3. Stupid issues" Lipstick on a pig and Britney Spears? All while Rome is burning. Palin and McCant are playing the fiddle.
Obama never said a word about Palin's wardrobe. Palin has a great job of hanging herself.

Palin is lying. Like saying she sold the jet on e-bay for a profit, said no thanks to federal earmark money for the bridge to nowhere, the RNC forced the 150K in designer clothing on her, she fired the public safety chief for administrative issues?

We all know Palin is an idiot. She just proves it once again.

What a shame!!!

In this interview we also learned that Palin does not know who the Prime Minister of Canada is or Premier of Quebec. She also does not seem to be able to pronounce the word "pundit".

She can be forgiven for not knowing "Nailin' Pailin".

You know...she seemed sweet and sincere enough...I actually felt kind of sorry for her...at first..she sounded like me or someone else I would know answering such a phone call-honored-to get it...but as the conversation went on...it became more and more evident how well..."not smart" she is... and the fact that they got access to her so easily is just plain scary. So naive and unready it's breathtaking.

Well it is so refreshing to know that if this would have been Biden we could expect: "Oh That Joe - Number 734 in a series"

Posted by: kim | Nov 1, 2008 6:49:15 PM

This is the October surprise. SHE IS NOT REAQDY.. SHE TALKS TOO MUCH. TOO MUCH INFO..

Posted by: james | Nov 1, 2008 6:49:29 PM

Palin is not ready for prime-time and she never will be. Sadly John McCain is past his prime.

Posted by: Matty | Nov 1, 2008 6:49:34 PM

The mainstream media didn't make Palin out to be stupid and corrupt. Palin did this all to herself. The RNC is not even to blame because, as a grown woman who is a maverick, Palin could have told them "no".

Obama/Biden 08!

Posted by: Common Sense | Nov 1, 2008 6:49:40 PM

Palin actually bought it! LOL. I mean, really, with statements like, "I can see Belgium from my house," and "my wife wrote a song for you." Too funny.

Dear David Wright, Alyssa Litoff, and Bret Hovell,

Can you kindly update your post with the gem of a fact that Governor Sarah Palin, aspiring vice-president of the United States of America, doesn't know who the Prime Minister of Canada is. You seemed to have missed that point in your summary of the call.

Thank you

Posted by: Question | Nov 1, 2008 6:52:02 PM

Obamacrat, you are the biggest liar on earth. You never supported Obama in the first place, you just like starting your post that way to look like you are middle of the road.

Saying Obama is talking about "nonissues" is like the pot calling the kettle black. Obama has refrained from pointing fingers and name calling to a fault. It is pretty obvious which side has been using stupid ad-hominem attacks using words like "terrorist" , "arab", "muslim", "communist", "socialist".

What i find amazingly stupid is that McCain, who wants to raise most peoples taxes, calls Obama the socialist. Yes, for the highest income bracket, Obama's plan taxes at 39% where McCain's taxes as 36%. So what is McCain saying... if you tax 36% you are a capitalist. 37% is socialist. And 39% is downright communist. How absurd.

They just need to give this woman a show on Comedy Central. She is a natural!

Posted by: DMR | Nov 1, 2008 6:52:43 PM

It amazes me how anyone can post FOR Palin (not Mccain because now he's just a figurehead for her) and criticize Obama below an article so blatantly pointing out how Palin is completely stupid.
And posting how "they rather make stuff up about Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin than to address the real issues of our day." is not only a pot meet kettle moment, but shows YOUR stupidity. How on EARTH did "they" make a radio station from CANADA prank Palin and then create a media blitz on it? Please explain

Posted by: Repubfobama | Nov 1, 2008 6:52:51 PM

Painful. The prime minister of Canada is Stephen Harper, not Stef Carse. That the woman who might be "a heartbeat away from the presidency" doesn't know who the leader of Canada is ... it's just embarrassing.

Way too funny.. Another SNL skit where the writers don't have to do anything but copy the transcript..
