McCain to Appear on Letterman Thursday
December 09, 2008 4:28 PM
ABC News' Bret Hovell reports: Sen. John McCain is scheduled to be a guest on Late Night with David Letterman on Thursday night, a McCain aide tells ABC News.
The Arizona senator just returned from an overseas trip that took him to Iraq, Afghanistan, India and Bangladesh, among other countries.
The interview on Letterman will be his second late-night appearance since the election -- his first post-election interview after Nov 4th was with the Tonight Show's Jay Leno.
During the campaign, McCain got into a verbal scrape with Letterman when he canceled an appearance on the show to suspend his campaign and work on what became the TARP legislation.
Letterman ridiculed him for canceling, but the two made up a few weeks later when McCain returned to the show.
McCain will also appear exclusively on This Week with George Stephanopoulos Sunday for his first Sunday morning interview since the election.

Why? He lost and nobody cares about him. He ran a horrible campaign and insulted us all by his VP pick.
Go away -

A public servant with his record of reform, accomplishment, yes reaching across the aisle to craft solutions, and sacrifice is much more than a "fringe celebrity.
He will continue to be a voice for integrity, principle and progress in the Senate.

I came here and I thought I'd see a blog about Obama's buddy Rod Blagojevich getting lead away by the FBI in handcuffs. Oh, just another conspiracy theory by right wingnuts I guess.
Does this mean that the media outlets WON'T be showing anymore pics of a smiling Dear Leader with the Illinois governor? Just wondering.

Why, oh why must we hear from him again??? Unless he's going to "come clean" about 'what, when, who made him, and how' he picked THE BEAST for VP, why bother? Unless he's going to "come clean" about why he took the low road to pursue the highest office in the land, why bother? Over the past 20-something years he's had his feet plopped up on more late night couches than any elected official EVER!!! This will be just another "Sarah Palin energized our party...blah blah blah. She needed clothes...blah blah blah. I sleep like a baby (2 hours, wake up and cry---lame joke)...blah blah blah.

So, which is news part?
Why even report this? Shouldn't letterman have to take out an ad?

Can't wait to see him on Letterman. Palin is great, should have been VP.

The really interesting thing is that Blagojevich, in all likelihood, has bumped Palin from the top spot for The Stupidest American Governor, which can't hurt her chances for '12.
If you think she's fab, you're a cretin. Sorry.

Well, there's also Jim Guy Tucker (D) former Arkansas governor convicted of fraud, there's Eliot Spitzer (D) former governor of New York who resigned over the prostitute scandal, Jim McGreevey (D) former governor of New Jersey resigned when facing a sexual harassment lawsuit, Don Siegelman (D) governor of Alabama spent time in Federal prison, George Ryan (R) governor of Illinois convicted of corruption, Symington (R) governor of Arizona indicted and resigned (later pardoned by Clinton...hey, Symington did save WJC's life in college after all)...and there's many more.
So, I guess all the 'smart' governors get in trouble, are indicted, arrested, have to resign, whatever, but Sarah Palin was cleared of any wrongdoing and she's stupid. Interesting logic there. Not.

Letterman's been on CBS for how many years and people are still calling his show "Late Night"? Get a fact checker, ABC.

Grand Old Party: Sarah Palin is an intellectual lightweight who has no business in national politics. She makes Reagan and Quayle look only moderately stupid by comparison.
Your party has an aversion to anyone with an intellect ā which would explain why you hate Bill and Hillary Clinton so much.
BTW ā aversion is another word for dislike. Iām assuming anyone who supports the GOP and/or Palin would not be familiar with this (or many other) terms!

Who cares? Another reason to watch Leno

John McCain is definitely one of my heroes! I'm glad he's appearing prominently in the media again. We need courageous, visionary leaders like him, who think beyond partisanship and who truly care about people. I know I'll be watching!

Lemme see...thinks beyond partisanship?!?! My opponent won't do a "townhall" with me, so therefore my running mate gets the green light to call him a pal of a terrorist, socialist, bordering on communist, sexist, muslim. Yep, he sure cared about the people, alright. When's his next rally? I guess he stopped caring about "Joe the Plumber, six-pack Americans" on Nov. 5th. What??? He lost, so he's not gonna "Fight for YOU"??? All the bullcrap he talked about doing, could be done without him becoming President...but, in good ole J-Mac fashion, he'll stick his name on a bill...it'll take 10 years to get passed...and he'll be against it once it does.

Is that show still on? Who cares...
Posted by: Larry Melman | Dec 11, 2008 12:50:50 PM
agree, Palin is no longer the one and only without brains. Which means that both parties have now shown how dysfunctional they really are. Time for a multiparty system? Time to recognize that a world power cannot advocate democracy in the world if it's population can only think either one way or another.....
