Hillary Goes 'Awesome' but Won't Sing for Cameras
February 18, 2009 11:31 PM
ABC News' Martha Raddatz reports from Jakarta, Indonesia:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had a very fun appearance on a local youth-oriented variety show here in Jakarta, the title of which translates to "Awesome."
"I heard I was going to be on an awesome show," she told the audience in an appearance that showed her lighter side.
Clinton talked about her favorite music. "I'm old. The Beatles and Rolling Stones," America's top diplomat insisted.
Clinton also revealed how her husband, former President Bill Clinton, can work and concentrate while listening to hard rock and jazz, but said she has to have classical music on when she concentrates.
The young hosts swooned when Clinton said she had just talked to President Obama, who lived in Indonesia for four years during his childhood and remains popular here, and said the president sent greetings to his homeland.
Clinton also referenced the school children she saw on her arrival yesterday, who greeted her at the airport waving American and Indonesian flags. She talked about reaching out to Indonesians, a key objective of her travel here to the world's most populous Muslim nation.
At the end of the program Clinton politely sidestepped the chance to make international headlines when she was asked to sing for the cameras. She laughed and said, "See all these people, they will leave if I sing."
Now we're off to South Korea and the third leg of Clinton's four country Asian tour.

She should have been President, and not Obama.

Did she come under heavy AA fire on her arrival?

After seeing the "transparency" and "bipartisanship" of Obama for the last few weeks, I beginning to agree. I have to admit, seeing clips of Bill pushing welfare reform and NAFTA on TV yesterday, he looked sharp compared to the socialist we have now. If Obama abolishes term limits as the Democrats are proposing now, maybe we can get Bill back.

Poor losers--isn't it time to give it a rest? Do you like to be around people who are whiners? Stop already.

That clinches it. The Beatles and Stones are officially no longer cool.

hillary would have made the better president.
However, obama has a good team around him and all he has to be in the 'front man' . The manchurian candidate who is a cardboard cutout for the masses to love.
The real power in the states now is Pelosi, Ried, Axelrod and Rahm.

Hillary is doing a superb job representing America in a respectful and relationship-building manner during her Asian tour. She is well-suited to this job and she seems to really be enjoying it.

Mihan, Can you give us a reference to a news report saying that Democrats are proposing a Constitutional Amendment to abolish term limits for the president? Do you remember what it takes to amend the Constitution from your civics class?

I'm really proud of Hillary Clinton. She has the star power to take our message loudly and clearly to the entire world:
America is back!
Thank you for your service, Sec. Clinton.
Yes, we can.
Together, we can do anything.

There is no whining here- Hillary would have made a better President- bottom line. I hope she truly enjoys the SOS job and that she can help this country.

this shows Obama as one of the greatest leaders of our time putting Hillery in her current post and not looking backwards, and dealing with all other crisis on his desk when entering the oval office.

Hillary would have been amazing as President. Well, there's always next time.

I agree
Hillary would have made the BEST president!
Obama is good - certaintly much better than the McCain / Palin dumb and dumber ticket and I wish him success.
But NOBODY tops Hillary!

Geeez,
- that is sooooo funny. I had completely forgotten about her confused memories regarding coming under fire!!!! - LOL
Another Obama appointment!!! Pitchlessness, and a muddled memory - the face of America to the world!!!

Yes Hillary would have been a great president she has one of the best teachers. That's why she is going to be a great secretary of state. Obama inherited a big fat mess the least we can do is support him in his efforts to get things righted. It took 8 years to make the mess so it will take more tan a month to fix it.

Hey there Publius the stones and the beatles may not be cool but have you heard what is left lately they can still belt out the music. The singers and muscians of the 60's still got it
