NRA Takes Aim At Congress

THE NRA AIMS ITS GUNS SQUARELY BETWEEN THE EYES OF CONGRESS
the most powerful force in the most powerful nation in the world is NOT the president. it is NOT the mighty military. it is certainly NOT the congress. it is the NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION and the other day the NRA took out one of its own, jim zumbo.
blaine harden of the WASHINGTON POST describes zumbo as a "mustachioed, barrel-chested outdoors entrepreneur who lives in a log cabin near yellowstone national park, writes for prominent outdoors magazines, delivers lectures and stars in cable shows about big game hunting in the west." but according to harden, that all came crashing down when zumbo on his blog went after hunters who use MILITARY ASSAULT WEAPONS, especially those who use them to hunt PRAIRIE DOGS. "as hunters we don't need to be lumped into the group of people who terrorize the world with them...i'll go so far as to call them terrorist rifles."
assault weapon lovers, makers, sponsors of his magazine and cable shows, and the NRA went after him with a vengeance and even though zumbo apologized and said he was exhausted and tired when he wrote his blog, there was no forgiveness. and reporter harden says the message from the NRA went far beyond zumbo and straight to the halls of the new congress. " it warned that the grassroots passion that brought down zumbo shows that millions of people would resist with an immense singular political will any attempts to create a ban on semi-automatic firearms."
last week PIERRE THOMAS in his gang series, "MEAN STREETS", talked to the palm beach police who said the majority of shootings are now done with assault rifles, AK-47s, and in many of them the police are seeing anywhere from 30 to 100 rounds fired."
so i have a question for hillary clinton and barack obama and all the rest who are running for president. Would you have the guts to take on the NRA and ban some of those weapons used to kill that 8 month old baby strapped in her car seat last new year's day in palm beach?

Wow, wouldn't a much better question be to the Republicans to see if they'll repudiate the extremists in their own party? After all the Republicans, have been vilifying Democrats as "anti-sportsmen" for years when Democrats have tried to take the very sensible anti-crime measures of limiting assault rifles on our city streets.
But being ABC News, you can't help but blame the Democrats for any problem that comes along. We wouldn't expect anything better from the Disney News Network.

I think the better question is when you will stop the fear and hate mongering with sob stories, anecdotes might make a point but overall focusing on the tragedies obscures the facts and leads to restrictions on liberty that help no one but those who disregard the restrictions.

Hmmm, if I use a hammer to kill someone, are they gonna ban the terrorist hammer I used or lock me up in jail and throw away the key? Its time to punish the criminals and make them pay including executions for misuse of hammers, assault rifles, vehicles, etc in the commission of crimes.
Cain slew Abel with the jawbone of an ass, do we ban jawbones of asses or do we tell the asses to quit workin their jawbones. I say we make people work for welfare benefits also and quit giving away money to people that wont work. U work, u recieve welfare benefits, like picking up trash down the highway, maybe then they'll get off their behinds and get a job to improve themselves. Also, if the mexicans want to work in this country, lets get them paying taxes in the coffers. Workin people are tired of paying for deadbeats.
