You Pay Taxes So They Don't Have To
March 20, 2007 9:19 AM
next time you write a check to the IRS, think about this:
over 21,000 physicians and related service providers who receive billions of taxpayer dollars under MEDICARE PART B owe at least $1 BILLION in back taxes themselves. that according to a new GAO report that covered only the first 9 months of 2005 and the GAO adds the amount actually owed is almost certainly HIGHER.
some of those doctors withheld payroll taxes from the checks they paid their workers, BUT they DIDN'T TURN THAT MONEY OVER TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT as they were supposed to. instead they used it to buy "MILLION-DOLLAR HOUSES, EXPENSIVE BOATS, LUXURY CARS AND LAVISH ENTERTAINMENT."
according to staffers for senator norm coleman, r-minn., who will hold a tuesday hearing on the abuse, one physician who got MORE THAN $1 MILLION FROM MEDICARE IN 2005 OWES AT LEAST $1 MILLION IN UNPAID FEDERAL TAXES, PRIMARILY PAYROLL TAXES.
and now for the part that will make your blood boil!
in just the FIRST NINE MONTHS OF 2005, HHS and the IRS COULD HAVE COLLECTED BETWEEN $50 MILLION and $140 MILLION of THAT TAX DEBT--BUT THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY!

Tax evasion, hmm, easy enough, audits, jail time, recover every penny even by seizing property, lose the license, done...
For the IRS and HHS, where does the buck stop? Fired, investigated for possible corruption, appropriate sanctions should any be found, done...
For the poor suckers that had the taxes deducted but not paid, any difficulties caused will be charged to whomever docked them, plus consequent expenses incurred from dealing with IRS, plus treble damages, done...
Total and unrelenting war on corruption!!!!
Peace
