Ratings Report: ABC News Programming For the Week of August 2-8, 2010


“GMA” Increases the Most Versus the Competition in Total Viewers Year-to-Year;

“GMA” Cuts Total Viewing Gap with NBC Year-to-Year,

“GMA” Extends Both Demo and Total Viewing Advantages Over CBS

Year-to-Year and Week-to-Week

For the week of August 2, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 3.940 million Total Viewers and a 1.3/11 among Adults 25-54. “GMA” posted its best demo delivery in a month and best total viewer number since the week of 6/14/10.

Versus last year, “GMA” increased the most (+8%) in total viewers among the three morning shows.

“GMA” reduced “Today’s” total viewing lead by 17% year-to-year.

In addition, both “GMA’s” Adult 25-54 demo lead (640,000) and total viewing lead (1,710,000) over the “Early Show” widened week-to-week (A25-54: +12%, P2+: +10%) and year-to-year (A25-54: +16%, P2+: +35%)

The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m. ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
