Ratings Report for ABC News’ “This Week with Christiane Amanpour” For Sunday, June 12, 2011


On June 12, 2011, ABC News’ “This Week with Christiane Amanpour” attracted 2.197 million Total Viewers and 738,000 Adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research. For the 2nd week in a row, the ABC public affairs program improved on the previous week’s performance in both Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+2%).

“This Week” improved over the same Sunday last year (6/13/10) in Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 25-54 (+2%).

On Sunday, “This Week with Christiane Amanpour” featured three panel discussions. A panel on politics included Democratic strategist Donna Brazile, Peggy Noonan of The Wall Street Journal, ABC News’ Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper, and ABC News’ George Will. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), Public Policy Professor and former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich, and ABC News’ Senior Political Correspondent Jonathan Karl participated in a discussion about the current state of the economy. Senior Adviser of Communications and Government Relations for the Comcast Corporation Torie Clarke, founder and president of the Cécilia Attias Foundation for Women and ex-wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Cécilia Attias, and co-author of “Womenomics” Claire Shipman of ABC News joined Amanpour to talk sex and politics. ABC News’ Senior Foreign Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz also joined Amanpour to discuss the issue of troop withdrawals in Afghanistan.
