'CSI' Star Busted for Drugs
April 29, 2008 5:25 PM
It's like a storyline from his show, but it won't be over in 60 minutes.
"CSI" star Gary Dourdan (born Gary Robert Durdin) was arrested in Palm Springs, Calif. early Monday on suspicion of possessing heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs, according to a statement from the Palm Springs Police Department. Dourdan was sleeping in a car parked on the wrong side of the street when police found him. After booking, he was released on $5,000 bail.
Dourdan's publicist was not immediately available for comment.
Dourdan has played investigator Warrick Brown on the CBS crime drama since it began in 2000. In July 2007, TMZ.com reported that he attacked a photographer outside a Los Angeles club, slamming him into the pavement several times before chasing him from the scene.

Star Jones, Al Reynolds Split
April 23, 2008 12:34 PM
The show's over for Star Jones and Al Reynolds.
The attorney and former "View" co-host filed for divorce from her husband of 3-and-a-half-years March 26, according to "Entertainment Tonight."
"Several years ago, I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life," Jones said in a statement to "ET." "A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone's life that requires privacy with one's thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace, and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman."
Jones, 46, married Reynolds, 39, in November 2004. Their over-the-top wedding at New York City's Saint Bartholomew's Church boasted 500 guests, 12 bridesmaids, three matrons of honor and dozens of corporate "sponsors" who donated clothes and goods for the event in exchange for mentions on Jones' Web site and "The View."
Jones left the ABC talk show in June 2006 after announcing that her contract wasn't renewed. In August 2007, she launched her own talk show on truTV (formerly Court TV). It was canceled six months later.

Tom's Son Cruises Into Family Biz
April 22, 2008 9:55 AM
Looks like a love for risky business runs in the family.
Tom Cruise's son, Connor, is jumping into the acting world, according to People magazine. The 13-year-old will make his big screen debut in the drama "Seven Pounds" playing a young version of the film's star (and Cruise family friend) Will Smith.
Connor's been a regular on movie sets since he was adopted by Cruise and his then-wife, Nicole Kidman. Despite his pedigree, he still had to audition for the part.
While Connor's a second-generation star on the rise, Lindsay Lohan's little sister, Ali, is a sibling stepping into the spotlight -- Ali's begun filming her first feature flick, according to People. The 14-year-old will play a popular high school senior in "Mostly Ghostly," a film based on the popular series of pre-teen books by R.L. Stine.
Ali's got her eye on the small screen too. She and her mom, Dina, have been jet-setting between Long Island and Hollywood shooting a reality show about their search for fame. It's set to premiere on E! this summer.

Why Is Bundchen Holding Bridget's Baby?
April 17, 2008 12:17 PM
It’s bad enough when the cheerleader steals your super-popular quarterback boyfriend. It’s even worse when she stars in a photo-op with the baby you had with him.
If Bridget Moynahan was still in high school, she might have spent the morning sobbing into her diary. Today, the first photos of her son with his dad, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, were released, but she wasn’t in them. In Moynahan’s place was Gisele Bundchen, the Brazilian supermodel Brady left her for, cradling John Edward Thomas Moynahan (aka JET) as Brady held a car door open for them.
Brady and Moynahan dated from 2004 to late 2006. When Bundchen bounded into the picture, Brady dumped the actress, despite the fact that she was pregnant. He was present for John’s birth on Aug. 22, but Moynahan retains full custody of the kid.
Though apparently, she doesn’t have say over who gets to hold him. Bundchen already stole her boyfriend -- she’s been seen rocking a large diamond ring, suggesting she and Brady could be headed to the altar –- is her baby next?

After Recipegate, Cindy McCain Heads to 'The View'
April 16, 2008 3:41 PM
Where’s the wife of a presidential nominee to hunker down as the ’08 election heats up?
“The View,” of course.
Cindy McCain, wife of presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain, will co-host the ABC daytime talk show live, Monday, April 21. She previously joined her husband as a guest on the show in 2004.
Barbara Walters’ coffee table has become a campaign trail pit stop in the past year. McCain dropped by “The View” last week; Democratic contender Barack Obama sat down with the ladies in March.
Obama's Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, was on the show in 2007 but has yet to appear this year. Republican hopeful Ron Paul dropped by the show last December, before dropping out of the presidential race.
Cindy McCain has been the least visible of the major contenders' spouses during the campaign. Co-hosting “The View” will be a rare press appearance -- and, perhaps, an opportunity to defend her cooking skills. On Tuesday, it was revealed that some of the "McCain Family Recipes" listed on the candidate's campaign Web site had been lifted verbatim from the Food Network. The campaign said an intern was responsible for the gaffe; Cindy McCain had nothing to do with it.

What Exactly Is Ashlee Expecting?
April 15, 2008 10:55 AM
For a girl who’s been almost absent from the news since her MTV reality show went off the air, the scandal surrounding her lip-synching quieted down, and the dust from her nose job settled, it’s pretty much the perfect storm of PR.
One: Ashlee Simpson and longtime boyfriend Pete Wentz announced their engagement last Thursday via a statement on friendsorenemies.com: “We are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. We consider this to be a very private matter, but we wanted you to hear it straight from us.”
Two: Monday, Usmagazine.com reported the 23-year-old singer is pregnant, citing an anonymous source. OK! magazine added that the couple’s first child is due in October, quoting an unnamed friend: “Ashlee would like to walk down the aisle before she’s showing -- although she's very cute the way she's always checking out her belly now and asking everyone, ‘Am I showing yet?’”
Within hours, Wentz, 28, e-mailed MTV News denying the reports. “There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood," the Fall Out Boy bassist wrote. “This is all news to me. I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover. ... I mean really, this is crazy. ... I mean we're engaged, that's true, and happy about it.”
Asked again if he is denying reports that Simpson is pregnant, Wentz replied, “Yeah.”
Three: Simpson’s third album, her first in three years, is due to drop April 22, the same day her collection of clothing debuts at Wet Seal.
What do you think? One big coincidence or PR ploy to get Jessica Simpson’s little sis some attention?

Britney's Skinny Bod Nothing but a Sham
April 03, 2008 12:22 PM
Her body taut and her hair sexily tousled, Britney Spears looks over her shoulder and smiles coyly back at the world on OK! magazine's latest cover. You can almost hear her southern drawl: "See? Y'all thought I'd never clean up my act. Well look how hot I am now."
Next to her, a headline screams: "Britney Lost 15 Lbs in Just 4 Weeks!" Below that: "No pills, no lipo: Back to her old body with the miracle food that sheds weight fast."
Except … she's not that hot now. She was that hot in 2003, when the photo gracing OK!'s cover was taken.
According to The Huffington Post, the image OK! attributes to Spears' transformation is actually from a 2003 photo shoot for Glamour's Women of the Year issue. Inside, the magazine claims Spears dropped the pounds by cutting junk food and margaritas out of her diet. But apparently her svelte figure is really the result of a handy cut-and-paste job.
Asked why the magazine chose the 2003 photo for the cover, a representative for OK! declined to comment.

Heidi Montag Hearts John McCain
April 02, 2008 11:39 AM
She may not know if she wants on-again, off-again boyfriend Spencer Pratt in her apartment, but Heidi Montag's sure about who she wants in office: John McCain.
Montag, the blonde, buxom co-star of MTV's reality-soap "The Hills," told Us Magazine she's voting for the Arizona senator because "I'm a Republican and McCain has a lot of experience."
McCain's been getting a lot of love from the ladies this week. Yesterday, ABC's "The View" announced he'd be dropping by to gab with Barbara Walters and her co-hosts April 10.
Is Montag, 21, trying to help McCain, 50 years her senior, court the youth vote? No -- even she realizes her influence doesn't extend that far.
When Pratt, 24, suggested maybe she shouldn't make a public endorsement, Montag replied, "I don't think anyone cares who Heidi Montag votes for."

'Idol,' 'DWS' Stars Hospitalized
April 02, 2008 10:16 AM
Looks like the competition of reality TV is taking a toll on contestants.
On Tuesday's "American Idol," David Cook wowed the judges and the audience with his rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Little Sparrow.” But after the live show, he felt heart palpitations and was rushed to the hospital, according to TMZ.com. Cook, 25, was treated for high blood pressure and returned to the "Idol" apartments where he was “doing fine,” an unnamed source told People magazine.
"Dancing With the Stars'" Derek Hough didn't get to shimmy on Tuesday night's show. The pro dancer paired with Shannon Elizabeth this season was taken away from the set in an ambulance during rehearsals Tuesday, according to E! News.
Hough, 22, suffered a neck injury while rehearsing a routine with his sister Julianne and fellow "DWS" pro Mark Ballas. He was released after doctors determined he had only sustained a strained neck. While he wasn't well enough to dance for Tuesday's professionals' showcase, he's expected back for Monday's dance-off round.

McCain to Visit 'The View'
April 01, 2008 5:54 PM
It's not a roadside diner or the I-95 stretch through Pennsylvania. The new hot spot on the 2008 presidential campaign trail is … "The View."
The ABC talk show will play host to Republican presidential nominee John McCain Thursday, April 10. The Arizona senator's no "View" rookie -- he was last on the show in 2005 promoting his book, "Character Is Destiny," and visited twice before that.
Democratic contender Barack Obama sat down with the co-hosts of "The View" last week. While his visit focused on key issues of the race and race -- Obama talked at length about the recent controversial remarks of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, his pastor of 20 years -- there was a bit of levity too. "View" co-host Barbara Walters called Obama "sexy-looking" and the ladies gabbed about his distant relation to Brad Pitt.
Obama's Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, was on the show in 2007 but has yet to appear this year. Republican hopeful Ron Paul dropped by the show last December, before dropping out of the race.
No word yet on what the co-hosts think of McCain's looks.
