Simpson Sibling Rivalry Heats Up

May 13, 2008 12:20 PM

Abc_jessash_080512_mnIt's sibling rivalry at its celebrity best. While Ashlee Simpson's reportedly on the verge of a wedding and her first baby, big sister Jessica, already divorced, is rumored to have broken up with her latest boyfriend.

According to Usmagazine.com, the younger Simpson will wed rocker fiance Pete Wentz Saturday at a "top secret" location. Ashlee, 23, and Pete, 28, announced their engagement in April. Tabloid reports, blog rumors and "baby bump" photos have fueled speculation that Ashlee's pregnant, but the couple haven't confirmed whether or not they're expecting.

Unfortunately things aren't so sunny for the sister who put the Simpson family on the map. A Chi-town celebrity blog reports that Jessica's boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, was partying in the Windy City this weekend and told his buddies that he'd split from the blond bombshell.

“They’re broken up,” Tony’s pal said. “He told us they broke up and that was that. We’re guys so we didn’t talk about it much.”

Jessica filed for divorce from her husband, singer Nick Lachey, in December 2005. She's been romantically linked to a slew of stars since then, including Dane Cook and John Mayer.

The sisters are in parallel positions on the career front too. While Ashlee's latest CD, "Bittersweet World," dropped last month and climbed to No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart, Jessica hasn't released an album since 2006.

It sounds like Papa Joe may have some squabbles to break up the next time the Simpsons get together -- which, if the reports are to be believed, will be this weekend at Ashlee's wedding.

Why does the media have to cause a fight where there is none. I'm sure that these sisters are mature enough to not fight over these things.

I don't think you can consider it rivalry when they get along and are both pretty successful! This story is ridiculous.

This is NOT the 1st time that a younger sister has had a baby before an older sister....wake up EVERYONE!!! This is NOT news!! This is low-life s h i t stirring!!!

WHO CARES?

Posted by: Marie | May 13, 2008 12:53:12 PM

Honestly... who cares?

Posted by: erik | May 13, 2008 12:55:33 PM

Is it tuna or is it chicken? Let the public decide which sister is whch.

Posted by: JR | May 13, 2008 1:05:06 PM

They are both untalented skanks.

Posted by: barby | May 13, 2008 1:09:27 PM

They are both as dumb as a box of rocks. Neither of them has any talent that they should be capitalizing on. It amazes me what people will allow themselves to be subjected to. Who cares if Jessica Simpson has a good body? Perhaps she should try to make that her main reason for being famous instead of trying to sing and act, which she cannot do!

Who cares?!?! And I keep hearing these stories from the media, but I've heard nothing of actual encounters between the 2 sisters (could it be that they are happy for each other?). Are you trying to make news? Not enough going on in the world? Here's a big news tip; There are 900 middle school children crushed and dying in China from a 7.8 earthquake that just a little while ago.

Given the way that Joe Simpson pimps out both of his daughters, I wouldn't put it past him to have leaked this crap to the press.

Sheila Marikar, what are doing? You know damn well there is no sibling rivery going on. This article is really lame and so are you. Shame on you. Now if Pete wasn't the dad of Ashlee's "child"....now that's a story!!!

Tony finally got a clue!!! Super Bowl here we come! Go Cowboys!!!

Posted by: Jessica | May 13, 2008 2:08:20 PM

I've routed for the Cowboys for a long time. I don't think Jessica cost them a Super Bowl. I wish people like Romo could have a private life as I'm only interested in what he does on the field. And while I have no malice for either of these two young ladies, I also could care less about their personal lives, either. I just commented to let the other Cowboy fan that posted that Jessica didn't beat us. The Giants did - but at least the finished the job against the Patriots.

Who cares? This is incessant dribble.

Posted by: OpusRooster | May 13, 2008 2:46:04 PM

At least they're talking to each other.

Posted by: Terry | May 13, 2008 2:51:52 PM

What is Ashlee doing in the lime light anyway? She has no talent, and is a fraud! Whats the big deal? Jessica is the only one with any talent. Maybe she's not too bright, but she can sing and dance and body; is she hot!

This whole article is worthless. I don't see one legitimate reason for either sister to be mad at the other. Why? I wouldn't have even put this article on my editors desk if I was this writer.

Posted by: Bev | May 13, 2008 3:16:39 PM

LMAO...You all are too funny!!! I agree with all of you about this story.

Posted by: Yvette | May 13, 2008 4:02:58 PM

This is not a story... It is STUPID, is what it is.

This made headlines??? Are you kidding me???

Posted by: Roz | May 13, 2008 4:20:34 PM

Why does the media have to cause a fight where there is none? Because it sells papers, magazines, etc.

Posted by: Sharon O | May 13, 2008 8:26:05 PM

Sheila Marikar, you must be as lame as this article. Who flippin cares and why do you have to create news where there is none worthy of printing, at least not this one. GET A LIFE!
