Steven Tyler Walks This Way to Rehab
May 21, 2008 6:24 PM
Decades of rocking hard have caught up with Steven Tyler, again.
The Aerosmith frontman, 60, has checked into Las Encinas Hospital drug rehabilitation clinic, according to Usmagazine.com. It's the same center where Dr. Drew Pinsky treated patients for VH1’s "Celebrity Rehab."
Tyler's love of alcohol, heroin and cocaine has sidelined him before. In the late 1970s, he and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry were dubbed the Toxic Twins for their backstage indulgences. Their addictions almost broke apart the band, but after long overdue stints in rehab, they staged a career-saving comeback 10 years later.
But over the past few years, Tyler's health has been making more headlines than his music. In March 2006, he had surgery to correct a popped blood vessel in his throat. Later that year, he went public with his 10-year-long battle with hepatitis C.

I hope he is able to stop this time. For good!

My well wishes to Mr. Tyler, as a human being first, then as a fan of his music. It takes a lot for a man to admit he has a problem, and even more to seek out the help necessary to correct it.

I hope "decades" of rocking was worth it Mr. Tyler? Without dope you're just another faceless robot.

Alcohol is the most abused drug and the hardest to quit. Keep up your faith and you can live to see your grandson grow up. Your music is fantastic! You are setting a great example for your fans. Thanks. Good Luck.

Everyone has problems at some point in life. And just because he is a rock god, doesn't make him any different. No one has the right to throw stones, evryone has been down before. What matters is getting back up. And it seems to me that he made a good decision going to rehab, that in itself redeems him. He has admitted he has a problem and he is trying to correct it. Steven, don't let anyone or anything knock you off track. You are capable of doing this. My god look at how long you have lastest in the rock business. He ain't no ONE HOT WONDER people!!!

To the person who commented that you "hope he never gets better and all records of his music gets destroyed".....that's pretty harsh words to say about someone you don't even know! So what if you don't like his music (which by the way Aerosmith happens to be one of the best bands out there!), he's a human being who has had some major addictions. He's man enough to get help rather then waste his life away. Shame on you! No one leads a perfect life. Be careful what you say and/or wish upon people....most likely it will turn around and bite you in the ASS!

Steven, all my hopes and prayers are with you. Be strong and get well. You are a lucky man, you get to do what you love for a living, you have a family and friends that love you and remember that there are so many people all over the world that love you and wish you well. Your music has touched my heart and soul and for that I am forever thankful! ROCK ON!!!

Reading some of these posts makes me absolutely sick... Who could wish that someone "sick" would never get well. We ALL grew up with his music, like it or not (I love it) and he's human just like the rest of us, possibly with more talent than some of you will ever have. Where is the compassion that "God's children" are suppose to have. ALways remember, what goes around, comes around so bad wishes will come back to haunt you. For the rest of the decent posts, I am sure Stephen and his family appreciate the thoughts. With his daughter going through divorce and he with other medical problems, I wish them all the best and look forward to his music in the future.
Aerosmith Rocks and so does LIV!!! Stephen, God loves you and so do I!!!

Hey,it goes with the territory, love the man, love the group, love the music!it's too bad that some have such negative comments,Steve Tyler and his band are part of "America"

Steven is the most caring rock star I've ever seen. I have met him many of times. The person who wrote ill messages about him Must have a very depressing life.

You knew he was still dopin' by the way he looked. As an X-doper, it's easy to spot it, as you see a little bit of yourself (when you were high) in their faces. No way to escape that.
I grew up and out of it. He apparently has not....

We should all be knocked down a peg. No one is perfect and not everyone who ever had an addiction problem can "grow up & out" of it. Give the man a break! His REAL FANS, FAMILY & FRIENDS will always be there for him. To support, love and encourage! Steven is not only an awsome rocker but he is a good person. In my eyes, he is the BEST!

How can you wish someone with an illness never gets well? Talk about banking some bad karma. WOW Lori Beth...got some misdirected anger issues?
