Lohan Fam Locks Horns With Newsman
August 08, 2008 1:00 AM
You'd think between a 14-year-old girl who accidentally auditioned for an adult film director and a 22-year-old daughter who coordinates her tattoos with those of her BFF and rumored girlfriend, the Lohan parents would have enough on their hands.
But no. Apparently, they have time to lock horns with a national news anchor as well.
It all started Tuesday, when CNN's Anderson Cooper went on a rant about Hollywood's most fame-hungry family while guest-hosting "Live With Regis & Kelly."
"Allegedly a 14-year-old girl, [she] looks to be about 60," Cooper said about Ali Lohan, recently photographed in New York sporting a full face of makeup and cleavage women 20 years her senior would envy. "I say that with concern and love. She allegedly wants to be a singer and or actor-slash-performer of some sort, striptease person, I don't know."
Dina Lohan, Ali's mom and reality TV partner in crime, shot back at the anchor via OK! magazine.
"People are just cruel!" she said. "This is bad karma for him."
But the Coop didn't back down. Tuesday night on his CNN show, "Anderson Cooper 360," he said Ali's mom and manager probably didn't see his comments live "because she was out clubbing," and went on to wax poetic about how bad he feels for the 14-year-old wannabe star.
Thursday, the Lohan patriarch jumped in the ring.
"I think Anderson Cooper is an opinionated, hypocritical idiot who should be an adult and keep his opinion to himself," Michael Lohan, Dina's ex-husband and father to Lindsay, Ali, and 19-year-old Michael Jr., told "Access Hollywood." "He is the last person to judge anyone, when he and his own family have their own issues."
Representatives for Dina did not immediately return ABCNews.com's requests for comment. But if Cooper continues his criticism, it's doubtful all will remain quiet on the Lohan front for long.

I love you Andy Cooper

Note to Ali and her mother: We all look down on trash, not look up to it!
Selling your daughters dignity for a few dollars more says that your acting like Hollywood pimp.
Your a disgrace as a mother and every other REAL decent parent in America thinks so too. Go back and crawl under your rock again.
Posted by: America - A Nation Of Sheep | Aug 8, 2008 6:47:42 AM
The mother is nothing more than smeone that is willing to see anything for fame and fortune.
Anywhere else she would be seen as trailer trash and thats insulting to those that live in trailers.
Trailer people have much better manners, pride and dignity than this terrible, terrible mother that is pimping out her daughter for the media and cameras.
Any one that gives this useless woman money (for interviews, etc) is compounding and adding to this tramps vice-like activity.

What a waste of a mother!
I have been seeing her daughter been sold this last few months across the papers and tv screens like something in a blue-light district window.
Trash, just trash is what the mother is, not only for allowing this but for further creating such opportunities.
If it was anyone else non-famous the social welfare people would be on them like a flash ...but thats fame and money for you!
A sad reflection on America this woman is creating.

The mother is nothing more than a pimp in progress!
Its one thing to sell your soul but to sell your daughter for a few dollars more, to the media is a disgrace.
Their reality TV programmes should be pulled from the air. Only the sick brain-dead, twisted or perverted tune in to watch this trash family "keeping it real" ...ya right!
No wonder folk are turning off their TV a lot more with useless mothers being placed on their screens like her.
I totally agree with the above comments.
Trash, just pure trash is what the mother is, the young daughter sadly is following her mothers example.
I'm sure many out there feel the same way.

Anderson is an elegant, intelligent, class act who has it exactly right. This is nothing more than a trash family wanting to get more "face time" than they already have. The parents are worse than animals. All either the birth mother and father (they really aren't parents in even the loosest translation) care about is that their spawn are cash cows. Suggestion to the Lohans - get out of show business because you and your kids suck at it.

The Lohans are about as white-trash as you can get. Good for Andrew Cooper for calling them out.

Where's child protective services in all of this? It's obvious this woman is not fit to be a parent and she should be investigated. She's already screwed up one daughter and is well on her way to doing it again.

Yeah, I agree that the Lohan family is a mess...but Anderson Cooper? Seriously?
I used to have a lot of respect for this guy, as one of the few remaining newsmen with a shred of dignity.
Get away from this, Cooper. Insulting fourteen-year-old girls is NOT a smart career move.

I just looked at a pic of Ali.....WOW! she is 14, fourteen, FOURTEEN! Way to go Coop. She looks her mom's age.

Anderson Cooper is great! And the Lohan's are obviously such white trash...

The Lohans' lives on film are depressing. Years ago, an adorable, spunky redhead charmed audiences, but it did not take long for the wrinkles beginning on cheeks to stun us all.
Both these girls, though, are not quite the women they will be. They need their space to develop into true maturity.
Now, for the rest of you, racial epithets are never indicative of truly deep thinking. Terms like "white trash" are racial epithets. Stop to think about it.
And linking bad parents with huge bank accounts to people trying their best to have a little something is fruitless. Terms like "trailer trash" should be obliterated from our thoughts. While, certainly, some people in trailers have problems that make the news, what we have here is "mansion trash." That's one of the problems that perpetuates the sad lives of others--"if they live in mansions, they must be doing something right" is what many young people will think.

Someone has to stand up for the children and who better than a serious and reputable reporter? If he does have personal family issues (and who doesn't) they are PERSONAL and he's not out pimping his kids. Hmmm, who do I respect and watch, the Lohans reality show or CNN? I also don't think his purpose is to insult 14 years old girls but shame (if possible) the "parents" who are selling her for their own fame and fortune. Total white trash, makes you think of the Hogans and their son who wants a reality show for crippling his friend. Putrid

I love Anderson Cooper!! He is saying it straight up about the Lohan's. Momma Lohan is trying to be the celebrity she never was through pimping out her kids. Poppa Lohan is a reformed drunk who since he has found God thinks he is perfect. Remember Cooper himself is the product of famous parents, who raised them out of the limelight.

The Lohans should listen for once.
They are and have f###ed up ...and better get their act together as people.
these mothers with their daughters (Brittany, Paris, Lindsey Lohan)that they wanted to have be famous...
it's "Heathers II"
the girls aren't the "Heathers" the girls are the daughters of the aging self-centered Heathers.
Who aren't busy being Mom's but instead trying to make their daughters live out an extension of themselves.
bad very bad
not only for these girls but for the cultural change they have brought on. Anorexia may be bad... but this new swing of self fulfillment at all costs is worse.
way to go coop
you don't speak up a lot but when you do it means something.
Posted by: dl | Aug 8, 2008 8:18:58 AM
and I would guess Anderson may be trying to protect these girls from going through something similar to what he went through.
Point being...shut Lohans and start being better parents.
Posted by: dl | Aug 8, 2008 8:21:10 AM
I personaly don't care what the Lohan's are doing, but then again I'm not a busy body who has to stick my nose in everyone's business. It amazes me that all you people who have complained, have nothing better to do. Why not use your energy to Stop the war in Iraq, To help the Envioriment, to help the military vets in your neighborhood, to help the homeless where you live. BUt I guess that would take REAL commemment, its easy to sit back and tras people you don't know , about things you have no idea of. God save us from the (nosey) "doo gooooders" of this world !

Cooper has dialed in on this situation with ultra accuracy. It's a good sign when people like the Lohans are shredded in the media rather than being worshiped. They represent all that is wrong with America and deserve all the negative publicity that comes their way. It is a worthwhile journalistic endeavor to change the core of our rotten culture and if it starts with dethroning the Lohan trash, so-be-it.

Oh, William. That's a nice thought, to forego all pastimes and selflessly protest against the war...aid the homeless and vets all day.
But don't pin a medal on yourself just yet. After all...you too clicked on and read this article, so obviously you're somewhat intrigued by what the Lohans/Anderson Cooper/Hollywood is up to. No matter how many hours you log making the world a better place, it is human nature to observe the "haves" the world. :)
But, maybe I'm just a nosey do gooder. (whatever that means?)

I've been not-so-secretly wishing for Anderson Cooper's timely demise ever since he used footage of U.S. troops being shot by snipers in Iraq as entertainment.
