Clay Aiken: 'Yes, I'm Gay'
September 23, 2008 5:54 PM
Now that he's had a kid, Clay Aiken's coming clean.
The "American Idol" alum graces the cover of People magazine this week, new son cradled in hands, smiling wanly next to the headline "Yes, I'm Gay."
No details from the interview are available yet (the issue hits newsstands tomorrow) but according to the cover, Aiken decided to come out because he "cannot raise a child to lie or hide things."
Funny. Before he had son Parker Foster Aiken with his music producer friend Jaymes Foster (she got pregnant through in vitro fertalization), Aiken claimed to have no interest in the same sex, or any sex at all.
In an interview with New York Magazine earlier this year, Aiken, 29, alluded to his asexuality.
"I have got too much on my plate," Aiken told the magazine, regarding his lack of a relationship. "I'd rather focus on one thing and do that when I can devote time to it, and right now, I just don't have any desire."
Asked whether he ever has sexual "urges" or "needs," Aiken responded, "I mean, not really. I've just kind of shut it off, maybe. Is that bad?"
Sounds like he's ready to turn "it" back on.

Tune into "Good Morning America" Thursday for Diane Sawyer's interview with Clay Aiken.

BREAKING NEWS!
Even Stevie Wonder can see Clay Aiken is gay.
I wonder how many girls are crying now as their Christian parents strip their rooms of everything Aiken...

Your snide and subtle, yet nasty, comments on Clay are pathetic. It was his decision and his alone on when he came out publicly. Your covert gay bashing language is loud and clear.

Gay, straight, or indifferent. Whatever...he'll be great dad.
Congratulation Clay!

WHY DO IDIOTS LIKE YOU HAVE TO ALWAYS FOCUS ON THE SEX PART??.. BEING GAY OR HETEROSEXUAL IS MUCH MORE THAN SEXUAL ACTS

Too much on his plate? Like sausages, kielbasa, and hot dogs?

It's my opinion-a gay man should not be allowed to raise a boy. The child will be so confused growing up. It must have been ashamed all this years----since he did deny, deny, deny. Being gay is a personal decision but should the child suffer in a already cruel world.

DUH!!! Is anyone really suprised? Personally, I couldn't care less. Whatever floats yer boat.

Yo, kay! This isn't 1956. No one really cares if a kids parents are gay. The only ones with issues are the other parents and they just need to get a life.

Lance Bass can do much better. I'm glad Clay finally got the courage to be honest about who he is. I congratulate him--because his life is going to get a lot better now living out in the open. Hopefully now he'll pony up some cash for the campaign against California's Prop. 8 which would eliminate the right of gays and lesbians to marry and write discrimination into that state's constitution.
NO NO NO on Prop. 8!!!!!

Who Cares!!!!

Gosh, did anyone think he wasn't? Maybe he can introduce his "hand up the rectum" philosophy to his kid early, I'm sure it will keep the family together, at least joined at the wrist.
