Fey: If Palin Wins, I'm Leaving Earth
October 13, 2008 1:10 PM
They say all good things must come to an end. Tina Fey's spot-on impression of Sarah Palin may be no exception.
The comedian/writer/producer/media mogul of the moment will not be playing Palin after Election Day if the Alaskan governor assumes the vice presidency.
"Election time is always good for ['SNL'] and this is a bonkers election," the "Saturday Night Live" alum told TV Guide. "And that lady is a media star. She is a fascinating person, she’s very likeable. She’s fun to play, and the two bits with Amy [Poehler], that was super fun."
But regarding her plans to continue her uncanny impersonation of Palin on "SNL," Fey said, "We’re gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I’m done. I can’t do that for four years. And by 'I'm done,' I mean I’m leaving Earth."
For the sake of primetime comedy, let's hope the Emmy-winning "30 Rock" star stays firmly planted on the third rock from the sun, no matter the election's outcome.

Tina, please take us all with you! Don't worry, Sarricuda is not gonna win.

I don't think she has to worry. Palin has become a non-factor now that the gimmick phase has passed. She is not qualified to be at this level of politics as her limited exposure to the press has demonstrated. Fey helped some people see that, by using some of Palin's own words verbatim in a satire piece.
You go Tina!

Tina ,I wouldn't blame you for leaving because Palin might try and get you fired also. Comedy-Gate! LOL

Brad Paisley said it best, "I'm Going to Miss Her."

I think if Lorne Michaels puts the Palin SNL, we should boycott. I do not want to see her and Palin 'work together'.

Tina and the SNL writers effectively eliminated the word "Maverick" from the national debate. For that, we all owe her a debt of gratitude.
Now if they can get rid of pairing "Wall Street" and "Main Street" in the same sentence, I'll write them in on November 4.

Are you all part of the group from Philly that wants to stone Palin?
This is the party of tolerance! Nice!
Posted by: Jeanie | Oct 13, 2008 1:30:09 PM
I meant to say Palin and Tina Fey.
Posted by: Lisa | Oct 13, 2008 1:30:54 PM
Awww...buh bye! I'm sure Russia or China would be more than happy to blast you into space...for a price.
Posted by: samhiguchi | Oct 13, 2008 1:33:35 PM
Jeanie, what are you talking about?
Posted by: Huh? | Oct 13, 2008 1:33:41 PM
I wish all entertainers that have professed to leave the country when a Republican wins would do so -- So long Tina!!

Tina Fey is the perfect example of how fast someone who was previously down-to-earth can become "Hollywood - Elite" [an oxymoron] and full of themselves. Tina, we like you, you are smart and funny, but we really do not care about your political leanings. Oh yeah, & I just rented "Baby Mama" last night. UGGGG. Can you mail me my $3.99 back?
Posted by: PhillyPaul | Oct 13, 2008 1:36:50 PM
Bye-Bye. And take you're uneducated liberal celebutard friends with you.

We're supposed to hate Hollywood elites now? I thought Saint Reagan was a Hollywood actor. And I think Arnold Schwarzenegger had a few small roles before running for Governor.

Tina...I love 30 Rock, and I love SNL. But, please, I don't really appreciate your political views. It's a paying gig which you obviously chose to scoop up. Let it go at that! Don't risk alienating a badly needed audience for your sitcom. You may be winning awards but apparently not viewers.

Why wait?

Hope you enjoy life on Mars, Tina, and you can wave at the wonderful life in the United States of America you missed under President McCain and Vice President Palin, making history!
Meanwhile, BO goes crawling back to Chicago, finding out that they don't to see his lying face there either.

It's all the set up that if Mccain wins...
Fey will disappear and Palin will suddenly start to look even more like Fey.
lol
that way they correct their mistake ...
it's bad when you can realistically see a scenario where the comedienne who plays the candidate is more suited to be the Vice president than the candidate.
"Dave II" the sequel ... "Sarah"
