Hasselbeck: Don't Compare Me to Coulter
October 17, 2008 12:43 PM
Elisabeth Hasselbeck may sway to the right. But she's not about to swing over to Fox News, and you'd best not compare her to any of its flaxen-haired pundits.
Today on "The View," gabbing about how the majority of women on Fox News are blonde, Hasselbeck's co-hosts made the mistake of comparing her to Ann Coulter and inquiring about whether she'd make the move from the ABC talk show to the conservative cable news network. Hasselbeck snapped back:
"Please don't put me in the same sentence as Ann Coulter. … I'm not going anywhere. I mean look, I love Fox, [but] I'm staying here."
And like a wannabe president crossing over party lines, Hasselbeck reached over "The View's" coffee table to embrace Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg, and insisted once again:
"I am not leaving 'The View.' I certainly love my ladies."
Good to know.

You mean they are actually 2 different people? I always thought she used the name Elisabeth on The View and Ann for all other appearances for some actors guild requirement. Are you sure they aren't the same person?
Although, I confess those dumb blonde, know-it-all know-nothing, right wing extremists all look alike... Change their hair color and they wouldn't even be on the TV, not even on Fox.

You are completely insignificant to just about everyone. No one cares who you are and who you are not. Get. Over. Yourself. Honey.

But they both have so much in common... like being completely irrelevant!
I can see how they could draw the comparison.

Elizabeht is actually a lot like Coultor. She has a very right view of everything and won't listen to anyone elses viewpoint. She is condiscending and frankly, out of line many times.
I also think, in the case of the Michelle Obama interview, she used her place on the show to further her political place at a Republican meeting. What happened back stage on the View should have stayed back stage.
She needed to be fired on that incident alone.
If you cannot be trustworthy, what good are you?-

The only woman who can be compared to Anne Coulter is Eva Braun.

Neither as good looking as Bernadine Dorhn in 1970. However, Ms. Dorne planted the bomb that killed SF police officer, Brian V. McDonnell. Never hear the drive-by reporters from ABC looking into this but they sure have time to disqualify Joe the plumber's question.

Even though I don't agree with her, I have ALOT of respect for Elisabeth... more respect than I have for anyone with my same view points. She's the only one on that panel that has the nerve to stand up for her beliefs without conforming and she sticks to them. The only reason you people don't like her, is because you wouldn't have the nerve to do the same. At least she acts like a lady and not like a bratty kid who ostracizes someone for being different. (Alicia Silverstone during after the Rosie incident).

I have liked the panel on the View off and on mostly because they were all very opinionated and had some interesting discussions from time to time. I can't say that's the case with the current line-up though. I love Joy and Whoopi, but Sherry and Elizabeth seem to be riveted to their positions. E just spouts off the Repugs talking points like a robot, and becomes instantly enraged and near tears when someone calls her on it. I haven't watched the show in it's entirety since Rosie left. She was the best thing to happen to that show, and she brought out the best/worst in them all which made it extremely entertaining. They are all too predictable in their "views" anymore for me to care.

she's the whiny Coulter.

Isn't Coulter the one with a law degree? I think she is smarter than Elizabeth, less anoying and less psychotic. Come to think of it she needs to move to Fox along with Glen Beck. They could all start a show: "American blonds having a blond moment". LOL....

Elisabeth, please reconsider & jump over to Fox News. Then I will never have to see you on my TV ever again.

Coulter is a whack job idealog, denying any form of actual reality. Hasslebeck actually believes the kind of crap Coulter and Co. say. It's not easy telling which is worse.

She'll be gone in a month. As soon as they start hugging -- that's it!!

i am so glad they stop putting the spotlight on her all the time..... that's all you'd hear, was HASSELBECK, HASSELBECK, her opinion, what she had to say.....than you for the change. I was beginning to wonder if there was anyone else on the show.

Debra - you are sooooo right. She is so rude, interrupts everyone and thinks that only her opinion counts. When someone states a fact she'll argue it and thinks that only her opinion counts.
She really needs to grow up and listen to what people are saying. SHE IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT AND RUDE.
I think she needs to wake up.
To me and others I know, she is not an asset to the show.

I agree that she sticks to her views. But Elizabeth views are devoid of any intelligence or common sense. She sounds just like the idiots on Fox News. Elizabeth does not have a clear grasp of the issues she so blindly believes in. If you're a Democrat she doesn't want to like you and that's it. Elizabeth has to be the most narrow minded, naive and uninformed host on television. She makes me sick.
