Silverman Won't Talk Kimmel, Will Talk Obama

October 07, 2008 3:41 PM

Nm_silverman_kimmel_081007_mn Sarah Silverman doesn't feel the need to talk about her relationship with Jimmy Kimmel with anyone. Not even Barbara Walters.

On "The View," the comedian and star of "The Sarah Silverman Show" deflected when asked to define her on-again, off-again romance with the late-night comic, though she compared the pair’s relationship to that of amicable exes Demi Moore and Bruce Willis in The New York Times. Silverman and Kimmel officially split in July, but have since been seen out and about, holding hands and acting a little more than friendly.

Responding to Walters' question, "What do you mean, you broke up?" Silverman said:

"In total respect to you and your legendness, I do not feel beholden or compelled to define my relationship to you. … It’s not a big drama thing we’re like, just not defining it, we're just being right now. Is that OK?"

Silverman, however, elaborated on how she plans to get the state of Florida in Barack Obama's pocket come Election Day via her viral voting campaign:

"Old Jews vote in Florida, a lot. Most of them are not planning on voting Obama because they're old and they hear his name and they've got old fears and it sounds like Muslim and crazy. … But like, 100 percent of their grandkids love Obama. Who has more sway with these people than their own grandkids?"

"So it's about schlepping to Florida and educating your grandparents," she said. "Threatening them. If you don't vote for Obama, you don't get to see the grandkids."

Is the entertainment community populated with dumbasses? It seems so. Ms. Schlepper Silverman needs to get some education. But then that does not appear to be a requisite for her brand of comedy.

What a dillhole..

is she really that far from the truth? after reading posts on various websites over the past few weeks, I can imagine there is some truth to "Old Jews vote in Florida, a lot. Most of them are not planning on voting Obama because they're old and they hear his name and they've got old fears and it sounds like Muslim and crazy. "

JCarob and TomTom - it is the two of you who seem desperately in need of an education. And class.

She does not wish to discuss her personal relationship on TV. What's wrong with that? I think it's classy and honest of her to say that upfront. If it does not satisfy the voyeuristic tendencies of illiterate morons like you who pretend to be "educated" but are nothing more than immature imbeciles and pathetic peeping Toms, well, so be it.

sunil

thanks for speaking the words of most of the people reading these blogs.

Funny that most of the idiots who argued and got us Bush Cheney

are now arguing the same logic and insults for McCain Palin.

stupidity and morons got us the last 8 years

stupidity and morons are trying for another 8.

Sunil, the fact that you would define this chick as "classy" is pretty funny. She won't talk about her personal life, but she LOVES to open her big trap about other celebrities. Yeah... classy LOL. It seems you're the one in need of an education. Go look up the term "classy" please and learn to define it correctly.

I really don't care if she wants to talk about her relationship or not, but Sarah Silverman could never be defined as "classy" for any reason. Just watch one episode of her show if you have any doubts. Catch an episode of "The Man Show", and you can see that on a "class" basis, she and Kimmel are meant for each other. And, just like any other Obamabot, if you don't support Obama it has to be a racial/prejudice issue of some sort. I hope any of these "Old Jews" that are threatened by their kids tell them to get out of their face if they don't want cut out of the will.

Right, JCarob. Anyone who disagrees with you is a dumbass. Well, "my friend", you're a bigger dumbass by far. Kindly SHUT UP, "my friend".

I just wanted to thank Whoopi for reading what our lawmakers are doing with money that the the normal person on the street has worked so hard for. It does not matter which party is in office because they are all the same. Thank you women of the view for trying to keep people informed. You are able to get news that the everyday person is not always able to. Thanks again

oh jcarob, take your chill pills.

you probably take things way too seriously and let me tell you, there are way more serious things in life than what dear sarah silverman says. nobody cares what you critique as good or bad humor...
not even your cat cares so try to get on with life because
n-o-b-o-d-y cares what comes out of your piehole!!

i love sarah silverman and laughter is the cureall for everything.

Just another whacked out celeb who has no grasp on reality..no wonder they flock to Obama

If you want news that you dont get everyday ( or on the major Liberal outlets...CNN,MSNBC, etc..) try FOX. Like the FBI Investigation into ACORN, the voter registering outfit whom Obama worked for and is now under Federal investigation for fraud.,...

I've watched this person and I have come to the conclusion that Sarah Silverman is a idiot and not even do I not find her at all funny,I will not waste anymore time watching anything that she does.

I just don't get you people. How can you defend McCain/Palin after 8 years of Bush/Cheny. I'm not that thrilled with Obama, but how can anyone defend McCain. I wondered how people could be pro going to war with Iraq, when Afghanistan was where the enemy was. I couldn't believe peole could be so, well, dumb. But I'm seeing it again, now. Wake up guys. Look at the economy. Look at the situation our country is facing right now. Do you really want to keep spending money internationally when we need it so badly here. What about the debt we're handing down to our kids. Doesn't this worry anyone at all?

Posted by: Rose | Oct 9, 2008 9:38:37 PM

she has a right to say whatever she pleases... just because she's a celebrity doesn't mean she doesn't have the right to free speech whether you like it or not.. I'd like to censor the KKK but we can't because it's against our unalienable rights.. Sarah Silverman has them too so all you haters buzz off!

To all the members of the Sarah Silverman Fan Club on this post: It's still funny that she loves to open her big mouth about other people, but she won't talk about her own nitty gritty. Pretty hypocritical no matter how you look at it.

There's room on Tina Fey's spaceship sweetie.

Posted by: geevill | Oct 13, 2008 1:55:00 PM

Sarah truly makes me sick. The venom she spews and her nasty disposition is disgusting. I agree with geevill, hop on the spaceship and get the hell out of the planet. The world needs one less dumb/smart a$$!
