New Questions about DC Limos, Hookers, Contracts
June 15, 2006 10:17 AM
Tough questions for Homeland Security officials are expected today at a Congressional hearing about a $21.2 million contract awarded to a limousine company alleged to have provided prostitutes for parties attended by members of Congress.
FBI agents are investigating whether members of Congress, including convicted Congressman Randall "Duke" Cunningham, put pressure on Homeland Security to award the contract to Shirlington Limousine for shuttle services and executive travel.
No one from Shirlington Limousine will testify today, and its lawyer has denied the company provided prostitutes.

The Congressional "model" is, and for some time, hasn't been the most flattering of positions, especially when these kinds of articles are posted, and remind citizens they may be for real.
Becoming a lawless legislator isn't what the Constitution was made for, and is insulting to the Bill of Rights, especially since of late, Citizens appear to be sacrificing those protections to satisfy legislation meant to provide security. Security for whom, privacy for whom?
If government officials can't provide a role model for citizens, who should?

Corruption in our government is certainly nothing new. With advances in media and communications we, the public, are more informed and even more bewildered about the scandals in our capital. Hard earned taxpayer dollars are being wasted by the millions. Such a pity for what is supposed to me a model for democracy.

So congress is holding a hearing to see if they (congress) should be punished for acting in ways unbecoming of congress?!?! How convenient for them and not surprising, They have the worst record of any group of employees in the country...or world. They are the best money can buy!!

How about reporting more on how corrupt congressmen and senators have become. How can we as americans punish those who violate public trust when they have no ethic laws with teeth to convict wrong doers. I am appalled how republicans and democrats act like mobs dividing up territory!
Changing party domanance in the house or senate makes no real difference when they act in their own interest instead of the public good.
