Video of an FBI Terror Sting
June 23, 2006 1:14 PM
The FBI undercover terror sting revealed today in Miami is only the latest example of how the FBI uses undercover informants to gather incriminating information from people suspected as possible terrorists.
The informant in the Miami case said he was an emissary from al Qaeda and actually administered an al Qaeda "oath" to the suspects, authorities said.
Some U.S. law enforcement officials labeled the Miami seven as "wannabees" with virtually no money to operate on their own.
In its last big terror sting in Miami, the undercover tape, obtained by ABC News, shows that the FBI informant provided the weapons and did most of the talking.
"Is good for mission, no?" says the FBI informant as the defendant looks on with a smile at a van loaded with weapons and explosives secretly supplied by the FBI.
The defendant, Imran Mandhai, was convicted on terrorism charges in 2003.

Another carefully administered, mind-numbing injection of fear into the American public.

First off, the media calls them "Black Muslims" as if they belong to the Nation of Islam. I'm sure Min. Farakkan doesn't like that. The officials are right, these are 'wannabe' terrorists. They're disenfranchised, unemployed, and very very angry black men. I see them almost everyday in the urban cities of America. Years ago they were the ones rioting & throwing molotov cocktails but now they're doing other Angry things like planning to blow up buildings. How many more do you think are out there - unemployed, no education, no money, and walking amongst the rich and wealthy in this country? I hope all go free except the ringleader, because he was a goofball for luring the others into the scheme.

I agree with Sally completely, these men are not terrorist, these are men in poverty and we all know that anywhere there is a high crime rate, that area is also high in poverty. The goverment is useing this as a lame example of fighting terror and spending tax dollars foolishly as they always do. There are more gangs
and gang crimes in the US than terrorist crimes and what the hell are they doing about that, NOT A DARN THING. The money they spend investigsting these so call terrorist can be use to EDUCATE and REVITALIZE the people and the neighborhoods, to make positive and everlasting changes, to impact these people's lives in a good way.

how long does it take for a name chech because are still waiting for our citizenship it is my wife you is married to a citizen

Bingo! Let's trot out the hackneyed canard of root causes like poverty. Yep, it makes perfect moral sense if you are poor then you scheme to kill as many innocent people as possible by blowing up a public building. What a lame and backhanded slap to the poor, to immigrants and humans in general. Many in the world are poor. The vast majority would never harm another person or be excused for doing so. A lack of money doesn't excuse homicide.
Examining the backgrounds of most of these jihadis, like the 9/11 crowd, one finds a comfortable level of living and very often college educations. Radical Islam is the common thread, not poverty.

Tony--
Are you out of your mind? If these men would have actually attacked the Sears tower you would be talking a whole different story. You would say the government failed again. But when the government intervenes before hand, people try to play it off. The media and yourself along with many others just do not want to give the government credit. All you want to do is blame our government for all the problems of the world. America is full of whiners and babies. Get some integrity!!!!!

I've decided to join the independent party and completely stop paying taxes!Bush is an idiot and takes the American people for a bunch of fools. You can fool some of the people!

I don't think anybody has any argument with our form or practice of GOVERNMENT, it's the best in the history of man. People are just fed up with those who are running it.
Let's see now, they said that Iraq had something to do with 9/11...wrong, that S.H. was in league with O.B.L...wrong, that there were tremendous amounts of WMDs ... wrong, that their oil would cover the war expenses ... wrong, that it would be a short war ...wrong, that we would be welcomed ... wrong, that we would convict a shoe bomber ... wrong. They didn't say that they would spy on our phones, get hold of our bank transactions, get info on us secretly from various sources, and even get into our homes without anybody knowing it.
Can you blame the ordinary citizen for being a little skeptical and wary of government?
A lot of basic rights have been lost in three years and you surely know that we will NEVER get them back. From now on, every party that gets control of our government will be ready to take even more rights by justifying it as part of a war on terrorism. This is being used so effectively now that we have begun to spy on ourselves and people have to be careful not to get anybody angry at them. This is the reality for people in a lot of other countries.
So how do we preserve our precious form of government? We maintain balance among those who run it, keep the checks and balances that the forefathers built into it. That is what Democracy is all about. One party rule does not bode well for any nation and that is what we have today.
POWER CORRUPTS, ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY

"...a van loaded with weapons and explosives secretly supplied by the FBI."
Does it occur to anyone that the FBI is creating these scenarios and manipulating the situation by inciting, inspiring and providing everything from weapons to money to explosives that make these activities illeagal in the first place?
Without the help from the FBI, there would be little more than perhaps bad intenttions.
To my knowledge we don't indict people for thought crimes (yet) in America.
And without the materials supplied by our tax paid government officials, that's all these guys would have had to feed their delusions.

With all due respect to one and all posters here; to proclaim that our form or practice of GOVERNMENT, is the best in the history of man, is not only a limited perspective based on national pride and limited knowledge and experience in all other forms of govenment past and current...But it does not make it (our government) either effective or morally correct in any or every case.
In fact, it may mean nothing more than bragging about simply having the most comfortable seat in hell.
This complacency will not repair a system that obviously breaking down. It will only accelerate the ongoing entropy.
Posted by: zach | Jun 25, 2006 12:32:45 PM
Well maybe we can establish one like they have in Russia, or China or N. Korea, or others in Africa and Latin America. Maybe we can go radical and be like Somalia where they haven't had to worry about any government for about ten or more years. Bt the way even the Romans were good at crucifying some of their people. Heaven or Hell will come eventually but in the meantime we have to work with what we have. Educate yourself on the issues, don't get conned by any politician and get out and vote; things might just get better
Posted by: AL | Jun 25, 2006 2:00:38 PM
...or we can be radical. Not a bad idea.
Like Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Peale, Madison...
Radical isn't always bad and complacency in the name of loyalty to the crown (what ever crown that may be) isn't always correct.

"If voting could in fact change the status quo of government, it would be illegal."
Those who make the laws would see to it.

The rich get rich and the poor get poorer. The gap between the haves and havenots in our country has been documented from our founding fathers forward. They even gave the Nobel Prize to a world famous economist in the 1950's because he promoted the theory that GREED runs the arogant rich machinery. Will they ever let go the stranglehold they have on the American working force? Face it...we're in for a long class struggle. Once we believed there was a "trickle down" effect coming from those higher up the economic ladder. We're in a severe drought, folks.Enough said. Byline: Pride/Patriotism & Honor

I agree with AL doesnt it bother anybody that it was the FBI that supplied the wannabes with weapons, the FBI that gave them there Al Quida oath, the FBI who made first contact with the group? Maybe it was the FBI and/or our lovely government that set it all up because they know that they have screwed up a lot lately so they want to cover that up by doing something good so they can say "Hey look! We still know what we are doing right?"
Also our government is not the best. It may have been years ago but now its old and falling apart. Greed and all the lovely crap that our ancestors tried to get away from has caught back up and now we are back where we started. A corupt and greedy government that lies and everything else but tries to cover it up to keep the people happy. Dont think that I dont love this country because I do. I am glad that I was born where I can have as many freedoms as I do but it seems that as the years go by this place just gets worse and worse. We need to step back and reevaluate our government and start making some changes.

America is a huge country.
How can we put 100% blame on the government to keep us safe? Its impossible.! The government is under a lot of pressure. They know what their job is, just like we know what our job is. Worry about what you can control, not what you can't control.Great job on that Sears tower bust!
Posted by: Dan | Jun 28, 2006 6:26:16 PM
Radical is good sometimes but it's not recommended now. Your're liable to get yanked out of bed in the middle of the night, hauled before a military tribunal, declared an enemy combatant, shipped off to Guantanamo or Abu-Garib, and be lost to history. With all of this going on one can't be too complacent either. Intelligent voting is the only way out it seems.
