Three of the alleged ringleaders of the foiled airplane bomb plot have been identified by Western intelligence agencies involved in unraveling the plot.

Two of them are believed to have recently traveled to Pakistan and were later in receipt of money wired to them from Pakistan, reportedly to purchase tickets for the suicide bombers.

Looks like the Brits have been on the ball since the London attacks.

Well, Danged police should have waited 'til the deed was done, then the ACLU would've had a tougher time and could have blamed it on Bush.

If this doesn't prove we are in a global terror war, you never will see the light. You clowns that state Pres. Bush was planning another 9-11 need your head examined. Writers for Popular Science have put together a book "Debunking 911 Myths". It refutes the nonsensical garbage coming from the black helicopter crowd.

I am glad Bush is in office rather than a Democrat

Maybe that secret bank transaction monitoring program really works. You can read all about it in the NY Times.

Wow, and to think that the New York Times was more concerned about terrorist's rights being violated by spying on overseas wire transfers.

Perhaps the NY Times can uncover the way we spied on these poor terrorists and expose it.

Another probable case of profiling. Sounds like their civil rights may have been violated. I hope the ACLU hears about this.

I can't believe this. Those guys should be tried and convicted.

Posted by: harold | Aug 10, 2006 4:45:59 PM

Was it really smart to release those names so early in the investigation?

Posted by: Lauren | Aug 10, 2006 4:51:12 PM

Kinda fishy, the way these plots keep being uncovered right before Americans express their distaste for the Bush agenda.

Posted by: Peter | Aug 10, 2006 4:52:20 PM

I wonder if an "illegal" wiretap was used to stop the plot? If so, should have just let the plot continue on? What if your child were on the plane?

Posted by: Sidney | Aug 10, 2006 4:59:12 PM

Good thing they were monitoring overseas bank transfers and phone calls, and the New York Times didn't have time to tip them off!

Remember Lenin's term "useful idiots"? Does anyone doubt that this is a worldwide war?

Posted by: Louise | Aug 10, 2006 5:08:50 PM

Oh, please... I admit Bush and co. are not favorites of mine, but come on. The biggest problem we have in this country is Far Right and Far left. One side always undoing what the other has done. It is getting very old... and very discouraging. We have problem that needs collaboration not isolation. Give me a break.

..."receipt of money wired to them from Pakistan"

Thanks NY Times

Isn't it great that our Government has the international cooperation and systems in place to catch these fiendish plots? It very well might have been the wire transfer that brought the authorities. Way to go Bush and Blair!

Al Qaeda is jealous of Shite Hezbollah prominence. So, it tries to recapture the Islamist leadership by showing it too can. This failure is a major blow. I worry they are going to try again and soon.

A terror attack just before the election in November would help the hawks in the war on terror win... not lose... in fact, every terror plot defeated helps the Bush position concerning the issue. And Lieberman will defeat Lamont in November!

Thanks, Brian, for revealing their names and tipping off their associates who are at large. Useful idiot, indeed.
