FBI: Approach Missing Egyptians with Caution
August 08, 2006 11:38 AM
The FBI has issued an urgent nationwide alert for 11 Egyptian students who entered the United States last week but failed to show up for their courses at Montana State University.
An FBI advisory says there are, at present, no known connections to any terrorist group but that the students are to be "approached with caution" and taken into custody. They "are here illegally and wanted for questioning," the advisory says.
The advisory comes just over a month before the five-year anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks on the United States.
"This is of very serious concern and is being closely tracked," said Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.
The FBI says the Egyptians arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York on July 29 and disappeared. The advisory says the alert is nationwide but that there is specific concern the Egyptians may be on the Eastern Seaboard.
According to the advisory the 11 missing Egyptians are:
1. Ibrahim, El Sayed Ahmed Elsayed; DOB OF 4/29/1986.
2. El Dessouki, Eslam Ibrahim Mohamed; DOB OF 02/21/1985.
3. El Bahnasawi, Alaa Abd El Fattah Ali; DOB OF 04/02/1986.
4. Abd Alla, Mohamed Ragab Mohamed; DOB OF 02/15/1984.
5. El Laket, Ahmed Refaat Saad El Moghazi; DOB OF 09/01/1986.
6. El Ela, Ahmed Mohamed Mohamed Abou; DOB OF 02/02/1985.
7. El Moghazy, Mohamed Ibrahim Elsayed; DOB OF 08/08/1986.
8. Abdou, Ebrahim Mabrouk Moustafa; DOB OF 02/25/1984.
9. El Gafary, Moustafa Wagdy Moustafa; DOB OF 07/01/1988.
10.Maray, Mohamed Saleh Ahmed; DOB OF 09/12/1985.

Something is DEFINATELY wrong here. In todays world this should not have happened, and is completely unforgivable. I have to wonder if they all arrived on the same plane? And if so, shouldn't 11 known illegals on a plane big a BIG alert to all government agencies. They shoulda been at the gate with cuffs and pistols at the ready.

Everyone's cutting down Homeland Security and they don't even know why the "students" are illegal, except for Todd. EVERYONE needs to learn more about security and what to do in case of emergency. Do you know what your local and state emergency management procedures are for various situations? Or are you going to wait and hope someone else will be there to insure your safety later on, or just complain when nobody is there to rescue you. This F1 situation can happen anytime and anywhere. How do you monitor everyone with visas 24/7? Visit your states Emergency Management website and find out what you should do during emergencies, just in case something happens near you.

So, where are their pictures? What do they look like? We can't be expected to be on alert looking for someone if we don't have pictures!

This is not a liberal vs. conservative issue. Please stop claiming that liberals are the problem with allowing potential terror threats into the country.
The issue comes down to the ridiculousness of not using racial profiling. We have a specific group of people from a specific part of the world that want us all to die. Shouldn't we be investigating groups of "students" applying together to American universities anyway?

Many liberals argue that we can not compromise our freedoms in exchange for greater security from islamic terrorism. However, WHEN we are attacked again, the first casualty will be those freedoms that liberals are defending. By making it more difficult to prevent an attack, we are creating the environment that will lessen our fundamental liberties.

They got in just like the other terrorists. How could no one at JFK be suspicious of these 11 men... What's going on at our airports??? Now the US has to spend lots of money tracking them down.

To someone who studies security matters seriously, there is one, and only one really worrisome fact: All eleven of them are missing. This isn't "Two drunk young men are in a brothel" type AWOL. Where are they? How could they go missing as a group "accidentally"? What is there source of funding? Who is helping them (vehicles, guidance, lodging, etc.)?

Just great students my foot. Find them and get them out we need gto lock the borders and stop sending money to all these secrewed up countries. They are illegal and need removed!

They were let into our country legally . . . they are now here illegally because they never showed up for their classes. Obviously something is amiss - are they on holiday, are they lost or are they really terrorists? My guess is they're lost and having a great time.

This country will never learn we are in war still to this day and still letting illegal people enter are country. How smart are we? 11 missing will be found on the 11th day of Sept. probably with connection to something bad again for all.

They were here LEGALLY. They got in LEGALLY, with permission . The moved about LEGALLY. When they failed to show up for school as per their docs, they became illegal.

What if these people detoured to the Grand Canyon on their way to Montana (the US has some very interesting parks), got hi-jacked by some crazy Texans, would have been in Montana by now... but are dead in the desert... what if?

How many more American lives need to be lost before the liberals understand that if we deny entrance into our country and invade the privacy of a few innocent people that we will save thousands of lives. Isn't that worth it???

ummm, ABC, wouldn't it make sense to post their photos? I doubt anyone will be able to notice these guys based on their birthdays alone, just a thought.

This Liberal versus Conservative tone the shows up in almost every issue has me concerned for this country. Instead of everything being a finger pointing blame game between the two groups, how about starting to think as Americans again. If this partisan thinking keeps up, it won't be long before were just like the Sunnis and Shites in Iraq. They think of themselves as Sunnis and Shites before thinking of themselves as Iraqis. Seems like that is the way America is going. People seem to be thinking of themselves as liberal or conservatives first and Americans second.

It wouldn't be the first time that some students screw up their status by not showing up for classes on time. Except that if those were Germans or Brits, nobody would make a big fuss about it.

Please keep in mind that in trying to hunt down these Egyptians that you are not allowed to racially profile. We should give this to the Democrats to resolve. I am sure they can lure them back into the public view with hugs and kisses.
