Hezbollah TV Provider Arrested in New York
August 24, 2006 1:30 PM
A man alleged to have used his HDTV service to provide New York area customers with Hezbollah television broadcasts was arrested yesterday. He's been charged with conspiracy to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
Javed Iqbal is alleged to have provided customers with satellite broadcasts from the Al Manar television station, which is owned and operated by Hezbollah.
Al Manar (pictured above) was named a global terrorist entity by the U.S. Department of Treasury earlier this year, thereby making it illegal to engage in business transactions with them.
Al Manar broadcasts from Beirut, Lebanon. Their offices were struck by Israeli warplanes last month, but they managed to get back on the air shortly after the attack. Throughout the recent fighting, the station has often aired messages from Hezbollah leader's Sheik Hassan Nasrallah.

Mr. Iqbal and those who work for him should be prosecuted for treason, sedition, espionage, and giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war.
His clients should be arrested and prosecuted for supporting a terror organization, sedition, conspiracy, etc...
Any of those not US citizens should be immediately deported along with their entire family. Any who are naturalized US citizens should have their citizenship revoked immediately and then be deported. Any born in the United States should be stripped of citizenship and given the choice as to which Islamic country he or she wants to be deported to.
The time for tolerance is past. These people are our enemies. It is time they were treated as enemies.

They should also find out who subscribed to Hezbollah TV and put them on a watch list? Sooner or later
US will have to begin some sort of profiling based on behavior and religious affiliation to predict who has the most liklihood to harm US interests.

I think it would be interesting to visualize another dimension of the conflict, especially while bombs were being dropped on Beirut. Is the issue abouth funding Hezbollah? I think they get enough help these days without having to worry about your monthly cable bill. Should I be worried about what websites I visit as well?

Historically and technically speaking, Brian Ross and the rest of the global mass media are nothing but a bunch of corporate propagandists. One-sided reporting without any historical background or fact checking is their game. They just repeat what the “shadow government” tells them. The story here is that “there is no story”. The only reason our government doesn’t want Lebanese TV aired in the US is that the citizens of our country may actually see that U.S. TV is 99% propaganda. Thirty-three percent of the US population knows that 9/11 was a US sponsored "false-flag" terrorist attack, a self-inflicted wound planned in the Pentagon for the sake of a corporate global ruling class. Then again, there is only one political party in the US anyway. The Democratic and Republican parties are exactly the same party. We don’t elect a president; we select one or the other, who are pre-selected by the super-rich. The two-party system is just a cover story to make the American public think that they have a choice. The same corporations lobby and fund both parties, and the House, Senate, and appointed government positions are filled by a rotating band of corporate gangsters. This is not a political statement; it is a verifiable historical fact. If Mr. Ross thinks that he is really an investigative journalist with the real scoop on reality, please invite me do a line-by-line analysis of what he and his so-called journalists have to say. I doubt he’ll take me up on the offer, because ABC doesn’t want me to rip him a new one every 15 seconds or so. As Albert Einstein said; “Education is what you have left when you forget everything that you have been taught in school”.
Sincerely,
Andrew Owens

This is wrong. American's are entitled to know what the otherside of the story is - when available. By doing this, the Justice Department has embarked on the road to state sponsored censorship and support for state propoganda. Sincerely, Robert Wells

I think most Americans can be trusted to handle any news which comes to them from a terrorist organization. The question here is whether these broadcasts are being used for communications to other terrorist cells within this country by hezbollah and Iranian interests. There's also the matter of receiving proper fcc licensing which this individual ignored.
