Hardliner Iranian President Applies for U.S. Visa
September 08, 2006 2:12 PM
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has applied for a U.S. visa, according to State Department officials.
The fiery leader plans to attend the U.N. General Assembly meetings in New York later this month. Official says that the application, which was submitted last month, is going through the normal processing procedure.
Ahmadinejad is known for his controversial rhetoric. He has called the holocaust a "myth" and has stated that Israel will one day be destroyed. Jewish organizations have already begun planning protests to take place outside the U.N. Headquarters during Ahmadinejad's visit.
Because he is visiting for the U.N. meetings in late September, the application is being processed with the "U.N. Headquarters Agreement" in consideration, which allows for visits for government officials who want to visit the U.N. in New York.
The official advises that the application will be much like the one Ahmadinejad went through last year for his visa. His application will most probably be denied based on the travel restriction as an Iranian government official, but that should be waived, and he would then be allowed to come into the U.S. for the meeting, but probably with a limited 25-mile travel radius.

Why not him in, after all America let in Arafat!
He is a head of State and may have some useful contributions to make.
He may even hook up with GW himself and have a chin wag and a LAFF (laugh).
No one knows till you try.

Hi guys,
wonder whether he get's a presidential treatment or whether he has to go for a real life interview etc.
I am for instance a expat iranian, never lived there, but went there last year to visit it before Shrubby would nuke it in the near future. After that trip I got fingerprinted and mugshot at the US Border even though travelling with Canadian Passport. Why ? cause I went to Iran. Going to Iran is a kind of crime, so everytime I go to the US I get mugshot, fingerprints, interview the whole vip treatment, at no charge (I am sure it cost the border guys a bundle to estimate $ 100 each time, cause it takes them 20 -30 min.)
Anyway just curious. See whether the old revolutionary hothead bugger gets to pass the interview!

Let him in. Upon arrival immediately arrest him and send him to Gitmo with the rest of the terrorist.

Hey, I say let him in...then maybe one of us good ol boys can blow him away and get it over with.

Hey maybe this idiot will get separated from his security people and get lost in the NY subway sytem. Can you imagine?! :)

Let's not forget that this is the individual who incited and supported the hostage takers who stormed the American embassy in Tehran. He is proud of that accomplishment and will boast of it with impunity in the near future.
He harbors nothing but scorn for the international community and the sole purpose of his proposed visit to the United Nations is to divide those nations who would oppose his ideology of word domination.

This guy sponsors terrorism on all facets. Why is it that the U.S. media can downplay the the extent of Hezbollah's terrorist activity by claiming that Israel was targeting civilians? The truth is simple: Lebanon supported and knowingly harbored Hezbollah guerillas, therefore, condonig terrorism. This fact is always lost in the leftist media, which is constantly depicting Israel as the aggressor in this conflict. Hezbollah financial support channels through Iran and Syria. To allow Amedanjihad,or however you spell this fool's name, to come to the United States on a visa is just his way of saying I can come into your country and there isn't a damn thing you can do about. This administration needs to make some calculated decisions and have him taken out while he is here.

Unreal, deny his visa and send the UN packing as well, what a waste.

Let me guy in the country ... Bush might actually learn something from him :)

I agree that President Tom of Iran is our enemy and shouldn't be allowed in. I agree that the U.N. is useless and the property should be sold to the city for there use. I believe we should get out of the U.N. and refocus on nato and its allied members, build it up, so we who share common interests can empower ourselves internationally. I also find it hard to believe our government is really concerned about terrorism when they leave our borders wide open. Until they act on the borders I can't take any of their war on terrorism talk seriousley anymore.

i think a sniper should give this guy a big vent hole in his head.
Posted by: dan | Sep 8, 2006 9:27:54 PM
He should not be given one once of security. He should also not be allowed to be accompanied by any of his security. He should not even be welcomed into this country. But the liberals in this country will bend over backwards to give him a hero's welcome. He is no friend of the United States and he is no friend to the entire human race. The moment he gets off the plane he should be thrown into a jail and tried as a terrorist for which he is. He should be told that will be his fate if he trys to enter this country.

Hmmmm.....maybe it would be easier for Ahmadinejad to slip across the borders under the veiled security of darkness! It doesn't seem to be a very important issue anyhow.......sarcasm is best served cold and diabolical. The REALLY sick thing is, he'll probably be granted the Visa. Our country is completely ridiculous to even consider having this guy even visit.
Posted by: huh? | Sep 8, 2006 9:33:43 PM
Does anybody know what the airplane that brings him here will look like? Does anybody out there know where I can get a S.A.M. in the next week?

If it's possible, Bush ought to do what the governor of Massachusetts is doing for the Iranian leader coming to speak at Harvard on September 10 - absolutely nothing. Mitt Romney has denied him all customary diplomatic services, including a police escort and the like. I hope we can show him just how unwelcome he is.

What if he oversatys his visa & becomes an illegal immegrent?
Then he could sue everyone & everything for discrimmination & the ACLU would defend him
Posted by: blue | Sep 8, 2006 9:38:19 PM
Let him come in, I also think the Bush advisors should tell Bush to debate him, or at least address him in the U.N. Since Bush will be speaking there the same day, I think this is a chance for ALL the world leaders to grow some "hair" and tell him what they think and that he can't get away with what he thinks the world should be. After that bomb them...

This would be a wonderful time to exercise the lifted CIA restrictions concerning "turning off" foreign heads-of-state.
Of course, there is the downside of helping this radical Islamo-facist-nutcase acheive his likely goal of martyrdom. Snotty little twerp is just trying everything he can to turn Iraq into a radioactive glass bowl. I say we do the Christian thing and accomodate him.

the fact of the matter is that there are three sides to every story. The one our government tells us, the one Ahmadinejad tells and then theres the truth. simply accusing the man and his regime as being a threat because our government tells us to is akin to not liking a coworker because another coworker says they did something but offer no proof to substantiate the claim. dont be fools. god gave you freedoms, but he also gave you brains...try using them!
