FBI: Two U.S. Residents Help Run al Qaeda
September 07, 2006 12:18 PM
Two men who grew up in the U.S. are now believed to be in the top ranks of al Qaeda, operating out of Pakistan.
U.S. officials say the alleged turncoats, from California and Florida, work closely with al Qaeda's No. 2 leader, Ayman al Zawahiri, in planning attacks on their home country.
FBI officials identify the men Adam Gadahn of Orange County, Calif., and Adnan Shukrijumah of Broward County, Fla.
Gadahn, a one-time heavy metal music fan, has been seen frequently on al Qaeda video tapes, most recently last weekend.
In the most recent tape, Gadahn spoke of Americans as drivers of gas guzzling cars with cell phones and college diplomas.
"I can't forget the day when as I was praying a prescribed prayer with one of the brothers in a shopping center parking lot in suburban America, a man sped by in his sports utility vehicle shouting from his open window, 'Worship Jesus, Your Lord,'" Gadahn said as he invited others to convert to Islam.
The FBI has a $5 million reward for the second American al Qaeda, Shukrijumah, a one-time student at Broward Community College.
Shukrijumah is suspected to have had contacts with 9/ll hijack leader Mohammed Atta before leaving the United States shortly before the attacks.
FBI officials say Shukrijumah traveled to Houston, Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C., to spot potential targets.
Officials say Shukrijumah has been in Pakistan since March 2004 and works with his fellow American, Gadahn, in producing and distributing al Qaeda videos.
In the effort to find Shukrijumah, the U.S. has distributed match books in Pakistan with his picture and details of how to collect the $5 million reward.
Virtually every one of the FBI's 56 field offices are involved in the hunt, according to Stuart McArthur, the assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Miami field office, who heads up the bureau's hunt for Shukrijumah.
"Shukrijumah is a dangerous individual. He's a trained al Qaeda operative. He's received explosives and fire arms training," said McArthur. "He poses a danger to the U.S. in that he spent a considerable amount of time here and is very familiar with our customs."

Isn't it strange how many Americans have no trouble becoming Al Qaeda leaders but supposedly the CIA was unable to infiltrate the group because
Al Qaeda supposedly would not trust Americans and would assume them to be CIA agents. It makes you wonder if the CIA even tried to infiltrate Al Qaeda at all.

Is that reward for "Dead or Alive"? If not it should be.

I'm expecting more news on terrorism in the next few months before the elections to help the Republicans.
I imagine they'll try to drag this out as long as possible to win elections.

I am spending the next two days emailing my 3,000 customers to not watch the docu drama 911 on ABC. Only an anti american company would use this momment in our nations history to make money. Further we are asking our customers to contact your sponsors with our complete disgust. Do not buy anything advertized on ABC.
Does Al Quieda pay you to attack the USA. You are clearly encouraging our enemies.
My son is in Iraq defending trash like ABC.

I heard that ABC was broadcasting a basis and defamatory mini series on the Clinton presidency and his aides about there actions prior to 9-11. This during the anniversary of 9 11. Is this what ABC wishes to do cause more bias, distorted reporting and pass that off as true reporting among the American people. Let's get real here!!!!
You are getting as bad as the FOX network!!!!

These two and other Americans like them, should be arrested, tried and then executed for treason.
Posted by: Bill | Sep 7, 2006 2:32:00 PM
I beg these murdering thugs would have thought that we (weak-minded Americans) would have stopped digging through rat tunnels looking for them by now. All this story does is confirm the fact that just because you are born on American soil does not make you an American. Hey Adam and Adnan, say hi to Hitler when you get to hell.

Are these men American citizens or are they illegals either way they should be hung and left to rot in public as traitors.
Posted by: Kay Mills | Sep 7, 2006 3:37:57 PM
These people committed treason and should be tried as traitors; just like the Rosenbergs.
Like it or not these people are plotting our demise and will stop at nothing. They use mosques to preach hate and the distruction of America and our way of life. They would not hesitate to kill us and our children,as they did on 911.
These Islamic Facist terrorist are among us, not 4000 miles away as our enemies were in WWII.
Wake up America before it is too late.

It's obvious to me that the Bush administration is out in full swing, fear mongering before the coming elections. It worked before so they hope it will work again to get them elected.
Rumsfeld's allusion to fascism should turn his face toward the Republican party to see what fascism really look like. That old expression "when you point a finger, four fingers point towards yourself," applies here in spades.

It's part of history now, tragic as it was,it is no different than any of the other terrible events in our world history.Programs such as these open our eyes to the possibilties of what we are facing now in our world. It's time we deal with it and not close our eyes.

Isn't there something called the Freedom of Speech???? ABC can air what they want, so long as it doesn't offend the FCC ... you might not agree on what's being shown - so if you don't like what's on, change the channel, or better yet, read a book, or go outside and get some exercise you fat Americans!

Here is my opinion....I totally blame Bush for the situation we are in.
If we had gone just into Afganistan and finished the job there by rooting out all of Al Queda including putting military pressure on Pakistan and cleaning up all of the terrorists there we would not be having the discussion of future attacks and Americans turning on their country...
Instead Bush led us into Iraq and now we are stuck in a VietNam type war and meanwhile the Taliban is regaining a foot hold in Afganistan.
I think Bush is the worst president I have ever seen and he continues to uphold his decisions and play the victim.

ABC....you must pull the movie "Path to 9/11"... I am a faithful ABC watcher. But, I am also a democrat and this is full of Republican bias, misleading information and you are condoning it by airing this movie. Enough is enough already. Note that 9/11 occurred on Bush's watch, not Clinton's. And we could of gotton ride of Sadamm Hussein in the first gulf war, when the first George Bush was president. FBI and CIA new where he was... and let him go. the war we are fighting now (IRAQ) could have been prevented had we acted then.

Er, Randy E and Bill, there likely are more appropriate blog sites where you can vent your electoral and media frustrations.

I wonder how we can be so stupid to let all of these people come into our country live here go to school here learn to fly our planes but we cant ever catch them without offering millions of dollar rewards!
Posted by: DON | Sep 7, 2006 4:11:09 PM
Why can they catch this man?
They are still trying to find out where he is, possible right under their noise.

I'm looking forward to watching ABC'S docudrama on sunday and monday i was really disappointed in the first WTC attack when the clintin Administration ignore the fact that the terrorist were here to do us harm. He was moore interested in his own personnal affairs then he was protecting the arerican people. He could had then gone after UBL but choose instead to let somebody woory about. If ABC shows this in it's entirely it should boost ABC ratings for shoeing the american people what really happened with the clinton Administration. sam Sanchez

These guys are even less of a threat than Osama. The only real reason for the FBI to go after them is to show all the peasants it doesn't pay to despise the political class.
Want something to worry about? Worry about the "trained al-Qaeda or Hizbullah operatives who have been living in the U.S., running convenience stores, for the last 15 years.
That's a REAL worry. These guys aren't.

But we will continue to talk about it and go to movies that were made because of 9/11.
