FBI Investigating Boeing Scientist

October 19, 2006 9:00 AM

Vic Walter and Eric Longabardi Report:

Lesnik2_nr_1Agents in the FBI's foreign counterintelligence unit have opened a criminal investigation into the handling of classified material by a senior scientist at Boeing.

The scientist, Abraham Lesnik, of suburban Los Angeles, works in the development of anti-missile systems for aircraft and holds a Department of Defense security clearance of Secret, Special Access, according to his resume filed in court papers.

The FBI has conducted three separate searches of Lesnik's home in Valley Village, Calif., according to Lesnik's lawyer, Marc Harris.

Investigators in the case say Lesnik's Boeing laptop computer has been turned over to the FBI after questions were raised as to whether classified data ended up in the hands of unauthorized individuals including foreigners.

Lesnik's lawyer says his client "has never improperly transmitted any classified information to anyone."

Lesnik's neighbors say FBI agents have been conducting a 24-hour surveillance of his home for the past few weeks.

An FBI spokesperson confirmed search warrants had been served but said the affidavits filed with the court were sealed, and no other information on the case could be made public.

Boeing spokesperson Walt Rice tells ABC News, "Boeing is cooperating with U.S. Government investigators in this case, and as such, we cannot comment further."

Will we hear about the fact that he was found innocent if / when that is determined?

Our country feels like a marshal law environment. It is giving me the creeps and creating an anger in me which, in turn, creates the need and desire to vacate my own country. It is horrible to live in America. For all those participating in this freaked out garbage---shame on you, sell-outs. Did no one notice a "force" taking over in our own country? Who is not a legalized slave? Answer: The homeless, the disordered, the infirmed, the incarcerated. Who does that leave in charge? The wealthy and the best liars. They go hand in hand.

My first thought on seeing this headline: "Oh, geez. Another one like that poor microbiologist(?) from Texas who carried some tubes of bacteria on a plane, as he had been doing for years, and ended up sent to prison for years on a terrorism conviction. This administration is SO hard up for actual, real terrorists and plotters that they have to invent them out of absent-minded professors and such. This makes me sick, disappointed, disgusted and more than a little apprehensive.

I just hope all this is legitimate. I think a lot of people are losing faith in the administration and in the legal system. Why can a congressman (Republican no less) spend years at least trying to molest pages, Another sell out to lobbyist (Ney), and other recent Republican issues, who are suppose represent the moral character of most normal americans I thought, and now that same government is ruining a scientist's life with searchs, seizure and public humiliation. I'm a long time Republican but think I may vote Democratic this time out of digust not because I agree with much concerning the Democratic party.
Power corrupts and that is the moral of the second term of the Bush administration and the Republican controlled congress. I sort of hope the Democrats do get into power and really dig into the Republicans much as they have done so many other folks. It wouldn't be fair but lately fairness and politics have little in common anyway so play hard ball Democrats.

I am a lifelong Republican, (45 years). After seeing the way this current administration is performing I am switching my vote to the Democrats. Nothing they do now could make me change my mind. Sleaze, corruption, mismanagment, cronyism, lies, war profiting, you name it. I've had enough. Never again.

What does this have to do with the Republicans? You Securlar Progressives need to get a hobby! Stop pretending you are Republicans going over to the Democratic side. The article says he had data he should not have had, and there isn't anywhere mentioned in the article about him being a terrorist, nor does it say any where he was a Republican or Democrat acting politically incorrect, so leave politics out.

There was an internet radio interview (grassroots infomedia) with a Canadian claiming Boeing secretly fitted some commercial jets with remote control pilotting devises that enabled 9/11 to be an inside job.

To Keri:

They've been all over the web's popular news sites and political forums.

I guess they do not realize people read many different sources and can see right through them.

As a Boeing employee I can tell you that we are currently going through a large training exercise on export compliance. There's a very good possibility that the gentleman in this story did not do anything intentional, but may have been a bit sloppy in how he handled Boeing information.

Look up the current International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) on the Internet. You'll get a feel for how simple it is to find yourself in a lot of trouble just by doing things the way you've always done them.

It's a Brave New World we live in these days. Despite the fact that much of what ITAR and EAR cover makes sense, I sometimes I think we've developed a taste for being afraid of our own shadow.

These days we're being taught that the boogie men are everywhere. I remember a time when we Americans knew how not to be afraid.

This isn't another case of "friendly" spying for Israel is it?

You know, we are friendly spies!
