'Get To the Bottom of This,' Hastert Tells Foley Investigators
October 24, 2006 5:58 PM
House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) has wrapped up two-and-a-half hours of testimony before the House Ethics Committee investigating the Mark Foley scandal.
He made a brief statement thanking the committee for taking prompt action and said, "I answered every question they asked fully and to the best of my ability. I encouraged them to continue to move forward to get to the bottom of this, including finding out who was aware and when they were aware of the sexually explicit instant messages" that Foley sent to underage former pages.
Next up to testify is Hastert's Deputy Chief of Staff Mike Stokke.

I don't doubt Hastert knew all about this months, maybe years ago. He will deny everything. People in the southwest are boiling mad at the Bushies, except for the mindless bunch in Phoenix.

Hasert should resign immediately as well as all others involved.

You that believe all the garbage you hear during election are so gulable. It doesn't matter who knew what. The media along with others who are so democrat or republican they would vote Hitler in as along as he was on their ticket will say and do anything to win. Grow Up!!!

To have Foly say "get to the bottom of this" is like "rounding up the usual suspects" in Casablanca when the guilty party is known. He knew and did nothing. Step down and stop the lying.

Having Congress investigate Foleygate is much like having the Gestapo investigate the Nazi Party isn't it? Do we really think they'll "get to the bottom of this?"

If the House Ethics Committee waits until after elections to announce the results, perhaps mosts of the dogs involved will already be removed from their postions. One can only hope.

We need to get the whole lot of them behind bars - maybe if the Dem's can get control of Congress & Senate, we can get impeachment under way - just like we did with our corrupt Republican governor here in CT.

Hasert knew! We all know that. The "buddy boy system" has got to go. Foley goes, Hasert needs to follow suit.
And they made a big deal out of Clinton's little misstep. Ha! Can't compare to this Republican corruption and cover-ups.

Do you know anything about a guy named Studds (no joke) who in the 80's was physically envolved with a page?
This Democrat (!) was re-elected 5 or 6 times.
What I'd like to know is WHY is the age of consent in DC 16? Who was behind THAT bit of perversion? Let's see which party sponsors a NATIONAL age of conset at 18.
