Body of Al Qaeda-Linked Terrorist May Have Been Found in the Philippines
December 28, 2006 11:52 AM
DNA samples from remains found in the jungle of a southern island are being tested by the Philippine military to see if they match those of al Qaeda-linked terrorist Khaddafy Janjalani, who is on the U.S. list of wanted terrorists.
A $5 million bounty on his head, Janjalani, the chief of the Abu Sayyaf group, is wanted for allegedly taking part in beheadings, bombings and mass abductions.
An informant pointed officials to the location of the body. American forces are reportedly doing their own test to determine the identity. Results are expected to take weeks.

It seems like the Administration's anti-terror policies are working pretty good to me. I can only imagine what the Pelosi/Murtha/Kerry/Kennedy plan would be (i.e., let's negotiate and sign peace treaties with the terrorists in the jungles of the Phillipines - how dangerous could they be?). God help us all.

He's probably dead because GWB has the guts to send out a "special" team to eliminate the threat.
The Democrats, faced with the same situation, would likely call the ACLU to see if they see any rights violations in "taking him out".
Of course, if Pelosi got her way, her nominee for head of the intelligence committee might not have made the same decision if the intel ame in after 5PM. Or if it was in English as opposed to Spanish. Or if it had any confusing information in it at all.
God help us all if Hillabama wins in 2008. Giuliani and Romney for Prez and Veep has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

Idiots. You give the terrorists exactly what they want when all you see is red. Why don't you just go live in Nigeria or Chechnya, where you can kill all the bad guys you want.

The above posts seem to relish not only death but only death they can attribute somehow to Dictator Bush. What's wrong with that picture? Police state 101--didn't you pass?

We only incite the Germans when we kill Nazi troops. The only death we like is when it can be attributed the dictators FDR and Churchill.
What dim witted clap trap. This pig spew would gladly have kidnapped Paul and Judith, tried to ransom them for money and the drugs the Abu Sayyaf used very freely, and if the $ were not forthcoming, then zip slash, their wooly little heads would be food for bugs. Thanks to Bush and the Filipino soldiers who choose to fight rather than cower in fear.

Judith and Paul, since you libs are afraid to take these guys on and are content to make Bush the bad guy.. why dont you and the rest of your ilk get the hell outta the way so those of us who are serious about winning this global struggle can do it already and not be hog-tied by your words or nit-wittery.
Should we not win, it will be your fault, not ours. We tried to take these bastards on, but you libs keep getting in the way.
Also, should we not win this war, who do you think they are coming after first? not me and my weapons.. but you and your tree hugging friends... by the way.. I wont defend you.. you dont deserve it.
Keep getting in the way, and you could become victims of friendly fire.

Man, who are these 2 nitwit neo cons. This is the type of thinking that has us in the position we are in right now in Iraq. Which, "BTW" had nothing to so with the war on terror. Although it dose now, thanks to the Bush gang (and I do mean gang in the negative sense). Iraq is "NOW" (which means; it was not before)a full blown live fire terrorist training ground. Where terrorist (Al-Qaeda and others) "LEARN" how to build better IED's and improve their terrorist/guerilla tactics against US Troops and possibly later on US Citizens. Whoa, thanks guys; good move dudes, high five on that (you dips). Nothing would have pleased me more than to see the US stay fully engaged in Afghanistan and around the world against Al-Qaeda. Catch and shoot Bin Laden on the spot (forget a martyrdom trail) as well as to make an example out of him and his crew of thugs, drug traffickers and murderers. And, had we done that, we also would not have the problems we are having with N. Korea or Iran right now. If we had done that one thing right Dudes, we would be very secure as a nation and a planet. Don’t mistake prudence and common sense for weakness. We've already made that mistake gentlemen; in Iraq! But then again it’s just like a neo-con conservative republican to blame their failures and mistakes on someone else. What ever happened to the republican credo of being responsible and accepting responsibility for your actions? Oh, sorry that died when this administration took office. Woo Hoo! Gooo G. Dub ya

I do not recall any Afghani's or Philippino's attacking us. if I remember correctly the majority of the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia. if America had any real guts we would have confronted Saudi Arabia and the border areas of Pakistan. republicans (cowards) vs. democrats (wimps), liberals vs. conservatives. what a bunch of nonsense. our government as a whole is responsible for years of poor foreign policy. war on terror? how incredibly stupid. todays allies, which we train, fund and arm will be tomorrows enemies. wake up America and learn some history

Don't confuse the country of birth with the country of terrorist training. Sure most of the hijackers were Saudis, but they were trained in Afghanistan's Taliban-protected camps so that is why we attacked the Taliban. If indeed Iraq is becoming a training ground for new al Qaeda terrorists, then that is where we should attack. Sunni insurgents who are protecting the al Qaeda terrorists are as valid of a target as Taliban fighters.

Some people seem to forget .We turned the other cheek from1929-1941 and we were attacked at home. I do not want terrorist taking our children hostage in our schools. If we do not confront them now in the future they could just bite us.

The search for the Abu Sayyaf Group in the Philippines have been going before Bush set his foot in the Whitehouse. Abu Sulaiman is just one of the commanders of Abu Sayyaf, but he's the MOST dangerous of them all. He is the brain behind this terror organization that has no qualms killing innocent civilians including children. ASG kidnapped one time 30 school children and asked the parents to pay ransom or their children would be dead. The kidnapped school kids were not all christians, majority are Muslims. Sulaiman is an engineer by profession, he worked for a few years in Saudi Arabia, while he was there in the Middle East, he joined the organization of Bin Laden (Al Qeada) undergo training then flew back to Philippines to do his own terrorism with his fellow Muslims.
Bush offered a bounty on the head of Sulaiman ($5 millions) after the organization itself was verified part of Al Qeada operating in the Philippines. I give full credits to the Philippine marines for risking their own lives to get rid of this dangerous man.
Yesterday another 10 members of Abu Sayyaf Group were killed during encounter with Philippine Marines, but the marines too have losts three of their soldiers during the encounter.

US forces are NOT allowed to participate in any combat operation in the Philippines, for those who doesnt know. The Visiting Force Agreement between USA and Philippines clearly define the limitations of visiting forces.
The action during encounter was ALL done by Filipino soldiers, there are no American soldiers in that area. USA don't have military bases in the Philippines.

well. they got him. good. one less person inflicting pain on the many innocent families.
I wish the Philippine Government would get more involved in taking back control of thier whole country.
The Philippie Army is doing a great job, no matter what anyone may think, and they are the ONLY branch of the governemnt that is not corrupt.
Abu-Sayaf... if you read this, please give it up, there is no need to kill people like this for no reason, for the name of Relligion? you are also PINOY, and be proud of that. you are not part of the army controlled by Dictator Bush, you are better than that.
Why can the PI not just be a peaceful place, lets face it, the people of the PI are wonderful, warm so lets make all of the islands the same way.
