Death to U.N. Workers Urged in Pakistan

December 27, 2006 4:00 PM

Taliban_peace_nr_2Kill all employees of the United Nations is among the instructions issued to followers in a new fatwa that was issued in Pakistan this week.

Yet another worrisome sign that the Taliban is gaining further ground in the northwest frontier provinces of Pakistan, an extremist leader has issued a fatwa instructing followers to target and kill all employees of non-government organizations, including workers for the United Nations and human rights organizations.

The United Nations has already heeded the warning and has banned all travel for employees to the area where the fatwa was issued and has cautioned employees from traveling to nearby regions.

In his fatwa, Mufti Khalid Shah terms all employees of NGOs as agents of Jews and Christians. Shah stresses that there is no need to ask permission to kill and that everyone should declare jihad. He also adds that the time has come to use weapons of mass destruction against his enemies.

Copies of the fatwa have reportedly been posted in the mosques and markets in Darra Adam Khel, a tribal territory on the outskirts of Peshawar. The area has become the new front for the Taliban. They have forcibly closed down schools and killed a school teacher.

The Pakistani army pulled out of many of the volatile tribal areas in September after signing a truce with extremist tribal leaders there. Pakistani military leaders said at the time that the agreement was based on the tribal leaders promising not to partake in any terrorist activity there.

WE SHOULD DROP MOAB'S ALL OVER THAT REGION , ANY CLERIC THAT PUTS FORTH SUCH A FATWA DESERVES SPECIAL ATTENTION FROM OUR SPECIAL FORCES AND A TRIP TO GITMO , ONE WAY , PAKISTAN IS THE SOURCE OF EVIL , DR KHAN ! ISLAM WANTS US ALL DEAD OR CONVERTED , BELIEVE IT CHRISTIANS AND NON CHRISTIANS ALIKE

Put our special forces in don't tell anyone, let them do what they do best, just like the new show "unit" We have those forces, I hope ALOT of them. Shouldn't have to answer any questions later like some of our soldiers and Marines do. They are trained to kill or be killed and I'd pray for their safe trip home.

Western Pakistan is turning into what Afghanistan was pre 9/11.. either the Pakistani army goes back in there or US/coalition forces should be able to cross the border so we can do it ourselves - if we don't get in there they will be launching attacks at will across Western Europe and on the American homeland using the tribal areas as the planning areas. I like the MOAB idea - fire away at any suspected militant camps as far as I'm concerned...

Kill all UN workers, hmmmmmmmm???? Aren't these the individuals that are providing desperately needed relief in the form of schools, wells, food etc that the world deems as critical? How about they wouldn't be needed or available for your indesciminent execution if you could provide the basic necessities of human existance on your own. I guess your radicalism is bankrupt after all and desperately needs the worlds help. For some crazy reason I don't think Allah wanted your people to suffer in this manner to display your utter devotion. How about making sure your kids get a meal today. I know Allah will bless for that.

Here'a an idea how about we simply pull out all UN workers and all humanitarian aid and everyone else that is there helping the people there. If we are not wanted there then lets leave BUT WE STOP ALL AID GOING IN THIS REGION AS WELL. I think if we pull everyone out the people there will see for themselfs what we here know. It's easier for them to see the good we were doing in these places if we simple do as they wish and stop ALL THE HELP WE HAVE GIVEN. Not just the USA but all countries stop and all outside organizations. Let the people of the area there take care of this problem. How long do you think this man will have power there when his people see that he has caused all aid of any kind to stop entering the region. Why do so many people seem to think we have to force help on the people of the world. if we isolate this area from getting any outside help from anywhere the people there should make the changes there. No one is going to follow some fool that causes all of the good they these agencies do to stop.

Chuck a very good idea. However, that has not worked with Cuba, North Korea, Libya, etc. It is regretible but force is the only way to stop evil. When attacked by a knife retaliate with a gun. When attacked with a gun retaliate with a bigger gun. When threatened with attack by WMD's retaliate by striking first with extreme prejudice.

We should end all foreign aid, solve our own problems first. Cheers.

Maybe Coffie Annon should visit the area. Isn't he good at solving issues like this?

GREAT comment Chuck! I wish the leaders we elect would read your thoughts on this!

I agree with the first comment. Whether using MOABS or daisy cutters. Any organization willing to target UN aid workers should be, I believe, destroyed. I generally deplore violence, but this is a case where I see no way around it.

I'm all for blowing up the entire middle east. In fact, let Isreal do it! Unfortunately we will get blamed and there will be yet another Jihad against us....
However as a "non-war monger" I'm father and seeing children killed will never ever sit right with me regardless of what part of the world the conflict is. Somalia is upside down right now...if it's not AIDS its a militia or a political uprising....
Here is to a roof over my head and to the health of my family....hopfully these wishes go to you all reading this. I only wish this could be world wide...

Uhm, Corrine, we don't elect the UN leadership nor do we control what it does. I think it is high time we sent the Taliban a very sternly worded memo and remind them that killing is illegal!

You know these idiots are making us good muslims look bad! How can they issue a fatwa for the very people who are trying to bring education, healthcare, food and aid to a devasted area? This is just getting out of hand!

The problem is not the region but Clerics/Mullahs are the real problem. These uneducated false preachers give false translations of the Koran to normal folks and these folks unfortunately believe everything a cleric/mullah tells them.

The reason why these clerics/mullahs want all educated people to be executed is because they will lose control if people learn & become empowered. I believe it is our responsibility as Christians, Muslims, Jews etc. etc. all must unite to stop the spread of this cancer. We all need to wake up because these people will stop at nothing to get their way, even if that means using nuclear weapons! You may not know this but they have murdered scores of good muslims who have stood against them.

I as an American & a muslim will not stand for it anymore!

Cheers!

I am sure your God (Allah) does not promote violent, especially killing innocent people. And I am sure that our God (Jesus) did not teach killing others either, but we do not issue orders to our soldiers to kill just anyone, so why are you? unless you are evil and in that term, terrorists.

In the 1930's an unemployed artist and former Army corporal wrote Mein Kamf which pretty much told everybody what he was going to do. Few people listened.

Today lot of analysis of the Jihadi's is based on mirror imaging. That is to say thinking that they process information the same way we do. The Jihadi's worldview is well explained in the book "Knowing the Enemy: Jihadist Ideology and the War on Terror"
by Mary Habeck.

One group of people who should have taken note of this are the International Humanitarian Agencies. The bombings of the Red Cross and the United Nations in Baghdad should have come as no surprise. The problem is while the International Humanitarian agencies think they are seen by everyone as handing out food and bandages the Jihadi's see them as tools of Zionist's and Christian Crusaders who are out to humiliate Islam.

One little known fact that is detailed in "The New Jackals: Ramzi Yousef, Osama bin Laden, and the Future of Terrorism"
by Simon Reeve is that UN Headquarters in New York was intended as the original target of the 1997 bombing in New York but they switched to the World Trade Center because of there was too much security.

Time to start listening.

Thank you M. D. Omar for a reality check. You are truly a great American and we need to hear from more honest men like yourself. May others learn from your example.
