Accused Daughter Molester Nabbed in China

May 02, 2007 10:10 AM

Accused_daughte_mn A Washington state man accused of videotaping himself molesting his own young daughter and posting the recording on the Internet has been apprehended in China.

Kenneth John Freeman, 44, was arrested in Hong Kong Tuesday by Chinese authorities, acting on a formal request by the U.S. State Department, according to a press release issued this morning by the U.S. Marshals Service.

The apprehension concludes a two-year worldwide manhunt for Freeman, who was considered one of the top 15 most wanted fugitives by the U.S. Marshals, which coordinates efforts to capture unregistered sex offenders and individuals charged with child abuse.

The case against Freeman was the focus of an "America's Most Wanted" episode last December. On the show, his daughter, now a teenager, described what her father had done in making the video, which has been among the most popular downloads for pedophiles in recent years, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

A joint investigative team of local and federal law enforcement discovered in April that Freeman, who they believed was living in China but working for a U.S. company, was planning to travel to Hong Kong. The State Department relayed the information to Chinese authorities, who agreed to help.

Freeman fought with his apprehenders, injuring four before succumbing, according to the release.
He now faces extradition to the United States under a standing U.S.-Hong Kong extradition treaty. Once here, he will face federal prosecution.

I'd rather see him in a state prision than a fed prison.

Being a child advocate in the State of Washington for over 10 years, and being the mother of 3 victims, I am sure this man will never get what he deserves, as this State condones child molesting. Our only hope is that this stays in the public media.

I just pray that this man is willing to repent for his actions and prays for forgiveness. I wish healing for the daughter and any other victims that may be out there...

The sad thing about this is that like other criminals like this we will just let them out in a couple of years and they will do it again.

God Bless his daughter. My heart goes out to her. I cannot think of a punishment suitable for his crimes. I guess society simply needs to lock him up and throw away the key. The death penalty is simply to easy a way out. .

He will get what's coming to him in prison..

Outstanding work! Kudos to all of the authorities for working together across the ocean to make this happen.

What a sad, disgusting excuse for a human being. That a FATHER would inflict this kind of horrible, traumatic pain on his own child is incomprehensible.

I can only hope he will be placed in the general population in prison and made to suffer his daughter's torment over and over again. Hell is too good of a place for this man.

I hope and pray that his daughter believes she was never at fault. She needs to remember her father is a psychotic animal. May God Bless this poor, sweet girl and grant her a blessed and wonderful life.

Put him in general population and let the system run its course. He will deserve everything he gets.

I hope his daughter all the best.

I only hope that the court system does not fail his daughter

I'd like to know what "U.S. company" was actually employing Freeman. Did it know about Freeman being on the FBI's "most wanted" list? Did it assist U.S. authorities in locating him in Hong Kong? Mr. Rood, do tell!

Since God is the ultimate Judge, it is our duty to protect the public from predators such as this man and keep him away from those he may prey upon. We say that no punishment is good enough for this pervert, but that is not our role. We are to help the victims as much as possible and to even help the perpetrators when they are incarcerated and learn from their actions how to treat those that become this way. Surely this man was also a victim early in his life which is how many ultimately pass on the role of society's most disgusting perps. There are no winners here, just prevention of future victims. One does not cure predators with the same treatment. They need to have their brains rewired through treatment. I pray to God his daughter will be able to lead as normal a life as possible. May God have mercy on his soul.

Wow you people are really disgusting. You abhor this man for his actions and violations of the law but in the same breath that you thank your god, you wish that he wold suffer unlawful and violent physical harm? No cries for letting the courts and law provide justice or letting God determine the ultimate punishment. No, instead you cry for blood and vengence.

I am glad that this individual was apprehended for his crime against his daughter. What disturbs me is that the individuals who viewed the material are just as guilty.

I can't tell who is worse--the man for what he did to a child or all of the people posting here who cannot wait to do horrid violent sick things to the man who violated his daughter.

Furthermore--it doesn't matter that it was his daughter--whether it was HIS child or someone else's--it was a young girl, bottom line. One's own children are not more important than a strangers child.

You people scare me. Stay home and shut your sick faces.

Thank the Lord he has been captured. I pray his daugther can have a normal life. Like a lot of the other postings, no punishment here on earth will be severe enough, God will have the final punishment for him and for all the sick people who viewed the video that he put on the internet.

I am glad he was caught! Hopefully he will get life so all his friends in prison can do the same to him.

He who is without sin can cast the first stone. Must I remind you that we are all sinners and to rush to judge this man is a sin? Shame on all of you!

They are going to LOVE him in prison.

I'm always hoping that these perpetrators get at least life instead of the pat on the hand that most lawers get for them. I know as a child victim myself that my abuse has affected my life
