Dead Taliban Leader Was Training U.S. Recruits

May 14, 2007 5:03 PM

Brian Ross and Christopher Isham Report:

Dead_taliban_le_mn Thirty-six hours before he was killed by U.S. forces, Taliban Commander Mullah Dadullah said he was training American and British citizens to carry out suicide missions in their home countries, according to a videotape interview to be broadcast on ABC News' "World News" Monday.

"We will be executing attacks in Britain and the U.S. to demonstrate our sincerity," he told an Afghan interviewer, "to destroy their cities as they have destroyed our cities."

Video Listen to the Taliban Leader's Final Words.

A senior U.S. official told the Blotter on ABCNews.com that recent intelligence reports confirmed Dadullah's claim that U.S. citizens were being trained in Taliban and al Qaeda camps.

"The number is small, not large, but even once is dangerous," the official said.

In the interview, Dadullah said, "This is our religious and moral duty to train suicide bombers against the nuclear power of the infidels, and they will be used when they are needed, whether they are one, 10 or 20."

Mullah_dadullah_body A day and a half after the interview, U.S. forces carried out a helicopter assault on Dadullah's hiding place in Afghanistan's Helmand Province. Dadullah's bullet-riddled body was put on display by Afghan officials to confirm he was dead.

U.S. military officials said Dadullah had been tracked from the Pakistani city of Quetta across the border into Afghanistan, where he granted his last interview.

"His ego probably got the better of him," said ABC News counterterrorism consultant Alexis Debat.  "The U.S. and Pakistan have done an excellent job of intercepting the couriers moving taped messages from al Qaeda and Taliban leaders. This is why we have not seen Osama bin Laden in some time," Debat said.

Give credit where credit is due--George Bush!!!!
Do what's right and hold George Bush up high in your media coverage.

Good! how come he said this after he was killed? and why can't I comment on the myth second hand smoke?

I'm sorry this guy is dead. I was training my FOOT to kick his REAR. Such a shame.

Bush gets no credit for this. The US Army and its Allies do.

Posted by: Scott | May 14, 2007 5:41:36 PM

George Bush had nothing to do with killing Dadullah! The brave armed forces men and women are not democrats or republicans; they are on the front lines protecting us. Bush and his cronies (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Rice) have a distorted worldview that has created higher levels of animosity than previously existed. We can kill all of the "leaders" and the "followers" will just move up until we get to the root causes and understand that Bush's world view is not destined to prevail. While there is no doubt that Islamic extremism must be defeated, it's gonna take more than a strong and mighty sword to win this battle.

Somehow the Democrats will find a way of twisting this story around to discredit President Bush. I am not quite certain yet how anyone can be so naiive as to think that this war is not necessary. Anti-War Democrats and Republicans alike would not have the right to free speech were it not for the battle against terrorism called for by President Bush and being fought for by our brave men and women in uniform.

Give credit where credit is due--George Bush!!!!
===================================
I agree, give credit where credit is due ... as he should also get the blame for allowing 9/11 to happen.

It's about time that Afghanistan got in the news instead of the illegal, senseless and immoral war in Iraq.

Posted by: Mark Wise | May 14, 2007 5:52:25 PM

Like it or not this war against terroism is one our grandchildren will be waging.

Intelligence is the key. No easy answer or plan to guard us against attacks.

Posted by: buck | May 14, 2007 5:55:46 PM

"give credit where credit is due" - indeed, credit for 9/11 goes to Bill Clinton and cronies who did not have the, er, "heart", to do anything about bin Laden and Al Quaeda when he had the intel and had the chance. Bush could at least pull the trigger, where Clinton choked

Posted by: daniel | May 14, 2007 5:55:47 PM

George Bush doesn't get credit for this, the only thing he gets credit for isolating the us from our allies. Starting and creating a war based on lies. Invading a country (Iraq) that wasn't a threat to our National Security. Hell, I could go on giving Bush credit for things, but getting credit for this; NO way!

Posted by: David | May 14, 2007 6:04:54 PM

I can't believe I see this on an ABC news website! You have tried so hard to cover up any connection between our soldiers fighting Al-quaida and constantly pushing the wacko congressmen/women that are against the war and President Bush. When are you going to wake up and see that our soldiers need our support & (money for equipment) to fight Al-quaida over there. When are you going to wake up to see that President Bush does have a deeper understanding than you do on the situation there.

Posted by: Suzanne | May 14, 2007 6:07:45 PM

George Bush had nothing to do with this??? Duh, isn't he the Commander in Chief of the Army (read the Constitution ). Now, we know that every lib in the US would have blamed Bush if many US soldier were killed in an unsuccessful attempt to kill the same guy. But you libs never admit your insane hate of Bush. I had no use whatsoever for your Boy Rapist, Bubba, but I did not hate him, nor do I hate his wife who is about the most untruthful woman I have never come across.
From a WWII vet who knows that even the Republicans who did not support FDR and abhorred many of his polices, on the war and other things, nontheless stood firmly behind him until the war was won.
What has happened to the angry idiots who hate the President? They are not in harms way, they would never fight for the Country, and the tax cuts are producing almost enought extra funds to pay for the war. Whine away, libs, whine away

Yes the Troops are fighting for our freedom and yes they deserve credit, also God Bless their families although on the other hand........Our troops and allies would not have been called to duty without Bush's signature. Our troops are brave and were prepared when they enlisted and were trained, if we had not gone to this war......we would have had Homicide and Suicide bombers all ready in our malls, federal buildings, schools, places of worship and not to mention our military bases and well....don't need to mention some, etc. It doesn't matter if anyone is republican or democratic, I love every one of you for who you are. I keep up with this war from day one. Have years (since September 11, 2001, close to three thousand)of edited and labeled VHS tapes and DVD's bagged, taped up with clear mailing tape(with LIVE coverage starting minutes after the first attack and before the second hijacked airplane) Moved from Florida to South Carolina in 2005 for my children and I to start a new life with 7 address moving this material and trying to keep the bags from busting before I finally purchased my new home in the midlands. This nation should be unified more so and remain vigilant and just get along, and keep in mind that Bush has to clean up Clinton's mess from his neglect, not to mention where his mind was. From a single, unavailable, 41 year old loving mother of two straight "A"/ "A-B" honor roll teenagers. I love you President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, miss you Donald, Ari, and everyone else that has been out of the media more than they use to. Go Guilliani!!!! I am sure someone will beg to differ. Hugs, Sylvia

Comment on David. Ask Hillary if she stated that Sadam was our number one national security risk and we needed a regime change in Iraq, The same was said by your boy from Mass. The great VietNam hero. He stated if you don't beieve that Sadaam was America's number one enemy and gratest National Security Issue then don't re-elect me. Bush has done the right thing. Like most Americans I remember 9-11 and so do two of my sons. One in 82nd airborne in Afghanistan right now, the other in Special Operations.

"United we stand; Divided we fall." Please remember there are dedicated fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers who are laying down their lives and dying to protect all of you bickering ,arguing people here about which political party is right and who is wrong! It makes me sick! This is the time to support of our soldiers, Period!!

Deeper understanding - really, where have you been for the past six years? You must mean a deeper understanding then YOU do certainly, not me.
I am constantly disappointed with our inablility to think for ourselves and not believe everything any administration tells us especially when time and time again they have proven to be a bunch of manipulating liars - yet we continue to believe them. Wake up! And this whole credit conversation is useless - Bush should get credit for our armed forces eliminating one of the "terrorist" he (our government) actually helped to create? That is as ridiculous as Americans asking "Why do they hate us?"
We all really should read and study history more.

Posted by: Sandy | May 14, 2007 6:34:18 PM

Now let the DEMOCRATS cut the funding of war against terror and let these trained US citizen militant do their Jihad at homefront. At least the DEMOCRATS can do something: as they claim like what CLINTON did when he had BIN LADEN on his sight, but did nothing about it... until the 9/11 broke loose. You anti war DEMOCRATS go ahead let the enemy knows how stupid you people are and for those who believe those DEMOCRATS you can be with them too. You are so concerned of our troops dying on the battle front. They are dying for your sake DEMOCRATS!!! Not like those people dying of drugs.... oppsss... I did not smoke it I enhale it... Clinton the liberals which you DEMOCRATS stands for... The truth is if you look how many American die during Korean war, is not even closed of how many died during this war on terror... And this is to bring the war to them not here in our HOME.... So go ahead cut the funding face the consequence later DEMOCRATS>>>

We are living in a dangerous times, we have one party who wants to surrender, appease, throw in the towel and defund the military the SURRENDER MONKEY PARTY, we got the other party who wants to take stronger actions against terrorists, which party will win in 08 the Cowaring anti America party or the GOP who wants to save the country from terrorism, common sence will tell you the dems are going to BLEED in 08! Al Franken 22% behind in Minesota, there is a god! Piss on America Pelosi, Abscam Murtha(excepting that he might take a cash bribe in the future from muslims on tape twice), little dingy Harry Reid Mafia property manager, and Scary Kerry that lied to congress in 1972 completely lying made up false testimony on Viet Nam and the rest of the demoncrat party will be gone in 08! they will get the little people killed!

Surely we know where some of these terrorist training camps are in Afghanistan from our aerial surveys. So why aren't we bombing them?

Remember the fall of the Roman Empire? Well the US is headed in the same direction... perhaps not in my lifetime, but certainly in my children's.... Unless we again fight for freedom, democracy, and the AMERICAN way! You "Can't we all just get along" Rodney King supporters can blubber all you want about how unfair life is.... while the rest of us fight to perserve your right to a liberal opinion.... whether we like it or not.

Tax the rich? No. Tax the poor? No. Tax the Liberals who cost the most to support? Damn Fine Answer! Hello Congressmam ..... lets write the bill.

Wait... whats that? Choose #1 for English? Why do I have to sit on the phone, unproductively waiting for the spanish translation to play out? That just costs more time and money.... Oops.. Here we go again...

Posted by: DevilsMix | May 14, 2007 7:04:24 PM

Insurgents need MONEY to support their cause. The U.S. should make an all out push to expose ANY world financial group, bank or organization that have even the remotest link to funneling or by proxy supporting links to terrorists and their sympathizers. The path may lead to many "supporters" of our government...NO ONE should be exempt whether they are Middle East "friends" or European global bankers and that should include all Asian banking networks. Follow the money and you'll find those despicable people who are in it for the buck.

Posted by: Ben | May 14, 2007 7:15:11 PM

I wonder what the Taliban think about the picture of their one-legged ex-leader being wrapped up all pretty in pink?

I say it's a good look for a coward terrorist.

Posted by: One_American | May 14, 2007 7:23:16 PM

Cudos to the troops and cudos to President Bush for staying the course. You will never here this from the "drive-by media" (as Rush would say), and from anyone else for that matter. The facts are that Clinton, et. al., were asleep at the wheel, and did not recognize that Al Queda and their ilk have been at war with us for some time. Lets finish the job!

Posted by: Allen | May 14, 2007 7:58:00 PM

Bush gets credit? Says who? You supporters are quite moronic to give credit to someone who has no sense of war, hell he would not even go to war when he had the chance. The credit goes to the troops and the intel community. If Bush was so good, Afghanistan would have been null and void of any Taliban/al quaida after 9/11. But alas, there was no oil to be had, only poppy so lets invade a country who had little or no terrorists (you see, dictators don't like terrorists since they are very unpredictable and tend to destabilize countries for their ill thinking, and no i am not defending Hussein). I am a veteran myself so don't get on that subject either. So thank the troops for doing what they are meant to do, I only wish they were allowed to clean up the real mess (Afghanistan) and not sent to fight some ridiculous grudge war with improper equipment and force levels.

Posted by: moji | May 14, 2007 8:06:53 PM

Another good reason to put a stop to sanctuary cities and sanctuary churches from harboring illegals who could be potential terrorists.

We are all in this together. United we stand divided we fall. Democrats / Republicans -- we are Americans. We should support our leader and our troops. Dont you think your a little late with the negative, even positive comments on this? Your very arrogance, slight of hand and ignorance of the past has put us here. Now again, 'we' have to deal with it. So sit in your comfy lounges and type away your little attitudes, while the few real Men and Women left out there take care of your little mess again. While you stir the pot, people >killdie< for you, here and abroad, Locality, Agency and Military. But, for themselves first. You just reap the benefit when it is successful. So I suggest this... shut up, get to work, pay your taxes thankfully... And if there is corruption in government, at least enough money gets spent correctly to keep you safe, even after the fact. Nobody likes mouthy people and patronizers that just start trouble. So be the opposite, and sacrifice some of your twinkie eating TV watching nose picking time to do something legal and constructive to keep this country going in the right direction, okay?

Oh, I cant believe ABC would show a dead body of a man on its website like that.... I guess they like the morbidity... You arent trying to scare me are you? Wait til I tell my friends about this. The odasity of it all... You are so selfish and sick... I cant believe you would do such a thing, you, you sick excuses for living... Ohhh....

Posted by: Billyjack | May 15, 2007 1:16:59 AM

I've read most of the comments that had to be made, few make sense or light of the real objective. Our politicians put the Taliban in power, Our politicians put Hussein in power. The real problem that no one seems to want to speak about is that our Politicians, keep putting their noses where they don't belong. How many times do we have to keep going this way. The Politicians of this GREAT COUNTRY of ours involve themselves in others issues, then when it goes wrong they send HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of MEN AND WOMEN in uniform to clean up their messes. Let's be honest with ourselves here folks, when are we going to wake up to the facts that our POLITICIANS, and I don't give a DAMN which party they belong to DO NOT, please let me emphasize this DO NOT have our citizens best interest at HEART. Their answers to their incompetiences is to get BRAVE MEN and WOMEN killed for their goals and objectives. My problem with all this is simple, OUR COUNTRY'S MEN and WOMEN are dying, I say we need to SUPPORT THEM, not the politicians. Oh just so you know so you don't think I don't understand that issue, I'M a DISABLED VETERAN, one of my family memebers is on his seventh tour to the middle east, since the first Gulf War, in which I served, along with a few more tours to the region for Southern Watch. Another family memeber was wounded this past December 2 weeks before he was to come home from an IED, so don't ever think that this doesn't effect me in any manner. I'm now currently working overseas as a civilian to help those I used to fight with, 2 YEARS going, along with thousands of former SERVICE MEMBERS by my side. We understand the SUPPORT our SERVICE MEMBERS need and we are willing to sacrifice for them, NOT OUR POLITICIANS. Yet to get to the point of the matter, Our country has failed to keep up with it's own plights on the HOMEFRONT. Why is it that we keep thinking that throwing money at a situation will fix it. Where is the GOVERNMENT'S watchful eye on our own POLITICIANS and the way they handle our money. Who's watching out for the people in the GULF of MEXICO regions that lost everything they ever known and owned. Who was watching out for them, NO ONE apparently. Why is there such waste of money in our own COUNTRY and NO ONE seems to give a DAMN about them. We sit here and discuss politicians, WHO CARES!!! What we need to be discussing is how do we take care of our own, and why is the destruction of our own COUNTRY not our first RESPONSIBILITY. I was taught from when I was a chid that CHARITY, and RESPONSIBILITY starts at HOME. When the POLITICIANS of this GREAT COUNTRY of OURS, learn how to support the PEOPLE that gave them their JOBS, correctly and in their BEST INTERESTS, then I will support them. Until then I have only sight on the real ISSUES, that is the MEN, WOMEN and CHILDREN of this GREAT COUNTRY. This SHOULD be EVERYONE'S concern!! Last to highlight another blogger, I thought our COUNTRY was an ENGLISH speaking country. LEARN IT, LOVE IT, OR LEAVE IT!!! I served both as a SOLDIER, now as a civilian it's time others do the same, and I'M referring to those so called POLITICIANS that everyone seems to want to put up on PEDASTALS.

Remember Charlie Brown and the grownups?
"blah...blah...blah" Wake up and smell the coffee beans....we have started a world wide riot. Life is more than revenge and hate...let us not be "blah...blahs". Yeah, you can turn your cheek only so much...but you can push some things too far. Hey, remember we ain't perfect...that is for the 'guy' upstairs. Let's remember we all have a HELL of a LOT to learn from each other.

Posted by: reba | May 15, 2007 1:31:08 AM

Bill,
your very long winded opinion is appreciated, but hey, to put it short, we made the guy, gave him just about everything he needed, he un-intelligently bit the hand that fed him several, several times, we had every right to -take him down-. But he had such a fear driven grip on that country, we have no choice but to occupy it til its people mature from the naive stage and take it for themselves correctly. Hell, it took us 200 years to get where we are, and were not perfect either??? DUH???!!!!!! Wake up man!!! You just wanna leave those people to the wolves and gangsters? Muslim or Christian?? Whats wrong with you?????? Damned if we left him there, damned that we didnt... You only get to pick one Bill...

Posted by: Billyjack | May 15, 2007 3:26:06 AM

First a job well done to the men and women in uniform. They fight this war as best they can. They deserve the credit for stopping this dangerous man. Not the Republicans, not the Democracts and not the President. They dictate policy, nothing more.

Brian: regarding the video - Al Qaeda in the US planning attacks ... investigate "Islamberg" in Hancock, NY. This is one of dozens of Muslim enclaves across the country where terror training is on going. Is our government aware of this?? What's being done about it? Nothing!

Posted by: Concerned American | May 15, 2007 7:57:23 AM

Well I'll try again. ABC is deleting blog entries. Why? I have no idea. There is so much anti-American anti- Bush comments on this site that you would think it was based in the Middle east. all I said is we need a president like Andrew Jackson in this time of war. And that if we get attack again the democrats will be blamed by the American people for their efforts of aid and comfort of the enemy. So if that is grounds for deletion but the "I hate Bush/America is evil" crowd gets a free pass then is it any wonder why the likes of ABC, NBC,CBS are viewed by the majority of the American people as biased?

Posted by: unseen | May 15, 2007 8:51:21 AM

I supported the First Gulf war.
I supported the move against the Taliban in Afghanistan and anywhere else. The move to invade Iraq was the poorist judgement call a president could have made. We lost focus on the terrorists and got our economy draining in a lost situation. People will be fighting in Iraq for the next 500 years whether we are there or not...or longer.

The Latest Dead Taliban Leader (LDTL) has given us a clue to fight them. We now can look within our own borders. I am sorry to say this but this is an Islamic Jihad and we should be looking at the Islamic communities for the internal threat.

Screw the inadequacies of past asministrations, our squabbling and finger pointing is distracting our focus. Let us now put ourselves in a position to do what is right and fight terror covertly abroad and at home in an effective manner. Can we do this?

Posted by: thomas | May 15, 2007 9:01:26 AM

The only people deserving credit for this is our military and intelligence on the ground...not Bush! Leave it to conservatives to take credit away from our soldiers and place it with Bush. Bush is a lame-duck president who is too busy dining with the Queen of England and playing bongo drums...all while our soldiers die on the streets of Baghdad!

Posted by: bman | May 15, 2007 9:05:53 AM

If you insist on giving Bush credit for killing this one terrorist leader, then make sure that you hold him accountable for over 3,000 American deaths in iraq also.

Posted by: dsotm | May 15, 2007 9:06:24 AM

Nothing will ever change until We The People Change It. We all have some very great opinions and ideas! I think the problem is deeper then that. My belief is the problem is in our political system. We vote for a party not a candidate. I suggest we remove the political parties, and in return vote for the individual. More resources are wasted from the party inititives all the way down to the negative campaings that smear our country. I think a person\politician would be more accountable to the masses if they are not wrapped safely inside by the strength of a political party. Another words, why are we the people of this great country, living by the laws and decrees made up by the few who do not represent us?

Okay, so you do not like my idea of doing away with the parties, then I suggest when one political party wins the white house, the other party should get the vice-president position! Why not, it could help curtail alot of this crap that we are living through.

Why should the Supreme Court make decisions on things that effect all of us. Why are these things not voted on by the people??? Each and everyone of us has the right to vote on what major laws should be enacted, but we are all to busy to do it. So, we accept the Supreme Court and others ideas, morals, values and whatever as the way it is.

I guess what I am trying to share in this rambling is simply this. We can all blame or credit whoever we see fit, but the buck stops with each and everyone of us. Until we take back America, and create a system that truly runs its course based on the will of the people, then we will have these types of issues and problems for the rest of times. I would love to see our country spend the money to setup a truly Democratic society, then to pay for the misdeeds of those who are leveraged into office, both Rep. and Dem.

All of these issues would be better argued in the voting box, be it to fund a war, abortion, oil and gas profits, and negative campaining just amongst a few.

I will hope that those who read this message can truly think about what our individual responsibilities are to our country, the world and to those who are not yet concieved!

We should not be a country, person or system that is controlled by the corporations, when it is you and I, who help to create the strength of these large and powerful entities. They should not be allowed to influence our governing, but yet we allow this to happen.

So, I hope we can start down a path of understanding, retooling our political system, how we live, and who we allow to speak for us, the people!

Posted by: MarkF | May 15, 2007 9:09:39 AM

Come on people, was Bush doing anything to find and eradicate Osama before 9/11? NO!!! Quit saying Clinton failed to do anything about him when Bush STILL has not done anything but blow BILLIONS of $$$ getting sidetracked in Iraq and over 3,000 service men and women's lives later is no closer to the goal.

Posted by: antirepublican | May 15, 2007 9:30:58 AM

We have NO idea what we are doing in IRAQ. Marines can take over the moon if we ask them......but OUR GOVERNMENT has no CLUE how to deal with Iraq.....We have a GREAT PRESIDENT and a GREATER COUNTRY, but our government has not one CLUE!

Posted by: Kevin | May 15, 2007 9:39:39 AM

Ziggy, I think 9/11 was a result of the US' support of Israel, as well as the US interests/presence in the gulf region. UBL could care less about the other crap you wrote about.

YOU need petroleum, so you are feeding the problem...we all are, and we need to think about another source of energy to run the world...

The real question I have after reading this is who are the UK and USA citizens being trained by the taliban. If the governments now about them then why havent they apprehended them? Seems like more missed opportunities.
I guess its hard to argue with a statement like "to destroy their cities as they have destroyed our cities." It muse be terrible for citizens watch USA or UK weapons destroying the home lands of many immigrants. I can understand their anger that is why I hope our government and the UK are working to apprehend taliban trainee's before they reap revenge.

Hey folks, listen to the WWII vet. He hasn't forgotten how to win a war against a ferocious and deadly foe. Oh and don't forget, weren't we attacked on December 7th 1941 unknowingly, yet nowadays conspiracy theorists blame Roosevelt for having knowledge of the impending attack. So what? He did the right thing! Fight to win and give your troops every resource they need to win it!

Yes you libs, Roosevelt your golden boy! You forget, he fought WWII to win! Thank God he did! We would all be hailing to that evil beast Herr Hitler every day and in the German tongue no less or be sent to a Final Solution camp.

So don't forget history, or we will all be forced to convert to this extreme and skewed view of Islam and forced to bow to Mecca 5 times a day or die.

Especially you libs who constantly blame the politicians and our President for creating this war. These terrorists were here long before, oh and yes Hussein was a in an organized crime circuit before killing his way to the top in Iraq. Sounds like Stalin did the same, oh Hitler too, not to mention countless other's who gained power and killed millions who opposed their power.

Though it is good news, it's like killing a bee, while the hive/swarm is still thriving. The war on terror is just like the war on drugs. There IS no winner. The enemy is fear and hatred, so illusive, cloaked in the hearts of these people. This administration has created more enemies than we could possibly kill. Dealing with this diplomatically is the only answer, given time.

As I recall, Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda are responsible for 9/11. So who so we invade and attack? Saddam Hussein and Iraq. Does this make sense? No. Al Qaeda was not in Iraq, but they sure are now. We have over extended our armed forces, fighting an enemy who cannot be defeated militarily. Diplomacy is the only way to go. The generals even say this. I personally do not feel safe in America now. And George Bush is responsible for the hatred the world feels for America now.

I am still having a hard time understanding how we win this so called "WAR"? There is no country or leader for that matter that will concede, plus the people who hate us so much are not all located in Iraq and not even the Middle East. Africa and South America are growing larger numbers of Taliban and al Qaeda members, but yet you all feel safe with our troops in Iraq? Just so I understand, win the War in Iraq and all other Taliban and al Qaeda members will just fly away? Is that how it works, or are we enlisting our children’s children in War that will never end.

Muslims and Christians have been killing each other for 100's of years; please do not say this War is for freedom, remember WMD’s?

I will just say this, if I made the decisions that King Bush has made, then I would be fired, and I am not the leader of the free world.

Training americans for attack? Not a surprise. You can see and meet the likely candidates by attending any anti-war protest here in D.C. or by associating yourself with those who support the leaders of the democrat party.

Next time you see a quote from a Taliban or Al Qaeda spokesperson, just block out the name and replace it with Harry Reid, John Murtha, Nancy Pelosi, etc. The anti-american/anti-military rhetoric is indistinguishable.

Any further word on the Cuban terrorist that was trained by the CIA and is being protected from extradition by the US?

Posted by: Zach | May 15, 2007 11:09:36 AM

Hey novamike -

Bush had NOTHING to do with nor can he be blamed for any part of 9/11 --- that was in the planning stages for years before it took place - if there is anyone to blame it would be the previous Administration for reducing funding for the CIA and being lax on surveillance of these terrorist groups -- when the USS COLE and our embassies were bombed - president Clinton did almost nothing, a few rockets - f* that - it was an act of war and should have been treated as such - These groups should have been dealt with at that time - instead, it's once again a Republican Administration coming in and defending the country and the Liberal media trying to discredit....

Bush has nothing to do with this other than sending the troops over there. The credit belongs to our brave men and women of the armed forces, Army in this case.
Thanks for listening.

We're not fighting a war against terrorisim. That's like saying that we fought a war against blitzkrieg during World War II. We're fighting a war against Jihadis. It's not terrorism, it's the ideology of Islamic Extremism.

--------------------

Uhmmmmm...Last I checked, we got a more conservative PM in Australia, France, and Germany, all of who promised closer ties with the US. Balir will be replaced by a more conservative PM. The same is true of two or three Scandanavian countries. Belgium and the Netherlands have begun taking a harder line against Muslims and terrorists. Ties with japan are closer. So are ties with Pakistan and India. We still have good relations with Italy and with new NATO members in Eastern Europe.

Our relations with Saudi Arabia (where 16 of the 19 hijackers were spawned), and Iran (who held our embassay staff hostage for over a year) and Syria (which has assassinated democratic leaders in Lebanon) are worse, but should they be closer?

What countries have realtions that are declining? Zimbabwe? Somalia? Sudan? Venezuela? And we should care because .....?????? I think you statement is an outdated "progressive" talking point! Congress approval rating has fallen to 29%, while Bush approval rating is at 33% (most recent poll numbers). Pelosi has good relations with Syrian President Assad, and Hamas thinks she is the "cat's meow". Do you think Bush is jealous?

You myth is outdated. Update your information or get current with the news!

He was killed for Appropriations. The Intelligence budget was passed in the House and is voted on the 17th. The climate change amendment was cancelled because it involved geospacial intelligence and 10 countries intelligence). Waxman is now going after the Air Force on the 18th because of the amendment on global change.

The Plame amendment to the five year law cancels the old law and extends protection for life to any 'agent' of the US. This can be anyone. The killing of the Taliban leader by a 'CIA drone' may have been an 'agent' informing on his location and past, which lead to the killing. For example, Sarah Chayes is probably covered under Section 502 of the DIA law or, at least, the Intelligence Identities Act. She now has lifetime protection as an 'agent' and the vote has to be done on the 17th. The killing was arranged to get the intelligence bill passed favorably to these 'agents'and extend protection for life. Chayes worked closely with the Taliban and paid them cash(Mercy Corps USAID funding) and later trained US troops as a way to be claissfied under these laws. Also, it helps Harvard and those that worked with intelligence.

The problem with the protection of agents is that they are leaked by the agency or department that classified them as tools, for example, arresting a bad agent like Ames. This is dangerous. The new legislation extends protection for life and the agencies and departments that do the classifying do not want to protect and 'agent' for life. They would be used for more intelligence work without choosing to do this.

Training troops is a way to classify a person as an agent under DIA's Section 502. The leader was working with 'informants' under the five year law and Section 502. He beheaded an Afghani explaining this is what's done to spies. this is related to the Chayes assertion under Section 502). He was found by the Afghani police as working with foreign agents who sold him off during Intelligence appropriations. He was killed. Like Iraq, the police worked with foreign agents like Plame, had foreign operations officers killed by the Iraqi police. The police who did the murders were then killed by US special forces. Afghanistan looks like it will end the same for the police that worked with the informant or agent. The murdered person is the patrtiot and the killers are traitors to their country.

"No. Al Qaeda was not in Iraq, but they sure are now."

That is not correct. They were in Iraq prior to US occupation. But, there are more now. They are flocking into the country just so they have a chance to take a shot at an American.

With that, I say thank you to all those fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Without you we would be fighting on our own soil.

Thank you Pres. Bush for having the courage to meet the enemy that has been growing for generations. Thank you for taking on the huge responsibility of fighting these terrorist now...even though they are in nearly every region of the world now and have already killed thousands. Thank you for not allowing them to grow stronger than they already are. Thank you for not wavering….even if it makes you “unpopular”. Thank you for not weakening because it is a long battle. That is why you were chosen to be President…because you have the balls to do what most do not have the stomach to.

If you think by leaving Iraq we will leave our problems you are so wrong. You should have learned that from 9/11. I don’t know what feeds these people...why they think it is ok to do what they do. Why they think they are obligated to kill innocent people. All I know is they exist. They train to kill those that are not of their faction...and it is an honor for them to do so. They will not go back to the dark hole they crawled out of because we have left Iraq.

Listen up all you libs. I'm so sick of all this Bush bashing and you crybabies. I would almost be willing to bet a bunch of money you never served your country and really have no idea of what it takes. I have three grandkids in Iraq. I served 4 years in the Navy and am damn proud of my country and will die for it. I'm sick of those moran from the Bay Area trying to micromanage the military. I'm tired of the college professors brainwashing our kids. I'm sick to death of the illegals trying to take over our country. We must support our military. We must deport ALL illegals. We MUST clean out the corrupt government we now have.

Give credit where credit is due--George Bush!!!!

I agree, give credit where credit is due ... as he should also get the blame for allowing 9/11 to happen.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Whoever wrote that is a complete idiot.. Bush is to blame for 9/11?? I think Clinton is to blame for that. Just a couple of missles here and there did the job huh?? And if Hillary is the next president, God help this country!!So, Give credit where credit is due--George Bush and more importantly to all the service members overseas.

One more time for old time's sake. The blog police evidently don't like lib bashing, but welcome Bush bashing, wholeheartedly. They have pulled two of my posts, so here goes another.
The reason why the liberal/socialist posters don't like Bush is that he defeated them twice. Bush has had to clean up clinton's mess ever since he took office. The one mistake Bush made was that he did not fire George Tenet as soon as he took office. Bush claimed that he wanted to change the culture of hate in Washington. It doesn't work with socialists. The democrat base is mainly the 60's druggies who want the democrats to win so they can be supported by the government. They want the taxpayers to provide them with health care and other handouts because they have never worked for a living. Their brains are fried from their drug use and we are supposed to care? Give me a break. Last, but not least, their favorite colors are yellow & white. Yellow for the stripe down their backs & white for the flag of surrender.

I think it's interesting how so many people are willing to cut our president down. I would like to see those individuals take the job as president Of the USA and make absolutly no mistakes and not piss not even one person off while in office. You Cant do it. At least Bush isnt screwing his secretary could you keep your pants up.

M. Amanzai---This was not murder, this is your future for a jihad of your own making. America targets murderous cretins who murder innocents. America targets those who deal in death, fear and oppression. Time is finished for you. All nations are now electing leaders who recognize your murderous ideology for what it is. You say death to america? I say long live Afghanistan. Long l
