State Scrubs Walls, Documents After Tobias' Escort Admission
May 09, 2007 1:48 PM
As the Bush administration moves to replace a former top State Department official who resigned amid the "D.C. Madam" scandal, the department has ordered all references and photographs of the departed appointee, Randall Tobias, removed.
Tobias, a deputy secretary of state responsible for all foreign assistance, resigned April 27, one day after he confirmed to ABC News he had called the "fantasy sexual services" firm Pamela Martin and Associates "to have some gals come over to the condo to give me a massage."
In an e-mail to staff at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which Tobias headed up prior to his abrupt departure, official Steve Tupper instructed employees to "please be alert to the need to remove all picture and statements from Ambassador Tobias in light of his resignation."
Staff should check Web sites, reception room walls, printed publications, PowerPoint presentations, newsletters and other material to make sure Tobias' name and face do not appear, Tupper wrote, according to the Washington Post, which obtained the e-mail.
"It's the normal course of business to remove active references of former leaders of any organization," USAID spokesman David Snider told ABC News.
On Monday, President Bush installed Henrietta Holsman Fore, currently the undersecretary of state for management, as USAID chief. She will serve as acting director until the Senate votes to confirm her.

She has a chance to improve morale at the agency, which scraped bottom under Tobias. A recent poll of USAID employees found that only 21 percent of them believed Tobias was doing a good job getting resources for the organization, nearly two-thirds of employees thought overall work conditions were worsening, and nearly half said morale was poor or low, according to the Washington Post.

Tobias wasn't a fool, he was a good example. I only wish every member of this disastrous administration who has something to be embarrassed about would resign. Then we could see how much festering corruption this bunch of moral braggarts are hiding.

Why should he resign. G.W's doing the same thing to this country and Iraq.
