Terror Suspect Called Bin Laden 'His Uncle Benny'

May 09, 2007 11:37 AM

Terror_suspect__mnOne of the men suspected of helping the plotters of a terror attack on Fort Dix would jokingly refer to Osama bin Laden as "his Uncle Benny," a co-worker told WPVI, the ABC News affiliate in Philadelphia.

"He used to make jokes about how the U.S. government could not find his Uncle Benny," Bob Watts, who worked at a Shop Rite bakery with Agron Abdullahu, told WPVI's Dann Cuellar.

Watts also told WPVI that Abdullahu would bring in recipes for making bombs that he had downloaded from the Internet, and that he would experiment with homemade explosives that he used to remove tree trunks.

"Nobody ever picked up on that, that he would actually do something like this," said Watts. "We used to joke around that I'll see him on America's Most Wanted some day."

Abdullahu, 24, was born in the former Yugoslavia and was living in the United States legally. He is charged only with aiding and abetting the other suspects' illegal possession of weapons, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.

Thank you Phil, I am very interested in Ron Paul's ideas and vision for this country.

I will gladly visit the link you suggested. Thanks for the helpful advice. I will watch his progression in the presidential race with a close eye.

Let me get this straight. This guy was bringing recipies for bomb making to work? Who in their right mind would do that? It seems like he wanted to be caught or seen which makes it sound like this is another hoax and no real actual threat.

This Is all BS fear mongers another rovarian tactic

If this stuff is true, then they should be punished to the maximum extent, but I am skeptical based on this article regarding another government "terrorist" case:

Delude yourselves all you want that these incidents are not "real." Remember 9/11?

If I had "Bin Laden" in prison, I'd trade him for a carton of cigarettes...

hey -- this story is great news!

by we Americans being vigilant, our home-grown terrorist have less chance in succeeding to hurt innocent people.

if only people would have spoken up sooner and louder of their concerns with Tim McVeigh, the UniBomber,VT killer, & 911, lives would have been saved.

now we know better to watch for another "shoe-bomber:

If my co-worker came in and talked of making bombs, It would have been reported pronto, what is wrong with Bob Watts and the Shop Rite co-workers that witnessed this? We do have a duty and should not be so lax, stupid take your pick.

Posted by: worried | May 9, 2007 3:54:29 PM

My guess is that they will all WALK. All you have to do is mention that they are ILLEGAL, and that automatically gives them a FREE PASS. Poor, poor illegals, we are treating them soooooo bad. They can't make their bombs in peace and quiet. BOO HOO!

CLOWNS to the left of me, JOKERS to the right! . . . Stealer's Wheel had it correct.

I agree with the poster that our ability to respond to a real attack in our country has been weakened by the action in Iraq, which if you have your eyes open and are not just eating what they spoonfeed you, looks increasingly like it was planned well in ADVANCE of 9/11, using the deaths of 3,000 Americans to justify a war for oil and power.

Look at what happened in Katrina, and now in Kansas. WE are left unprotected against natural disasters; who's to say this bunch of bozos will do any better against a major terrorist attack? Aren't they the same guys who IGNORED months of warnings from their own experts and allowed 9/11 to happen?

Let me ask you something, why is this co-worker telling it all to us just now??? Where was he before???

Posted by: Irine | May 9, 2007 4:58:37 PM

I wonder who he is referring to when he says "Uncle George"?

Posted by: Bill Hicks | May 9, 2007 5:07:43 PM

Dear Fuzzy,

Remember there are other crazy individuals that exist inside U.S. like the KKK. There are a lot of individuals that are not educated and are loose cannons. This is why it is so important that every American is provided a good healthy opportunity, education. I do have to comment that at least during Clinton's administration our economy was in a better position than today. This is a historical fact. Read, it is educational.

We are all ashamed that this guy is a Kosovo Albanian. He and the others should be punished. That doesnt make Kosovo and Albanians in general the most pro-US nation in world. We will eternly be thank full to US for liberating us and now for supporting our independence. May God Bless USA!

Posted by: Kosovo_Friend | May 9, 2007 6:23:53 PM

Half of these folks were illegal...where is that in any ABC news reporting?
Lean any farther left and you'll fall down

This story is a reminder that we must all be vigilant. Extremism is a sickness that unfortunately cannot be cured, and we must acknowledge that it exists everywhere. When you look at the common people - every where - we want to survive - enjoy our families, and little else; except for the 1% who live for hate and destruction. Good luck to all of the common people

It's an irony that U.S. had helped Kosovo Albanians in their fight against regular Serbian troops. Now U.S. is in the same position as Serbia in 1999. Call your representatives and tell them that independent Kosovo, as base for radical Islam, is threat not just for Europe, but for the U.S. as well.

Serb stop trying to post propaganda we all know very well about the genocide that was committed by Milosevics regime in the Balkans. Dave I couldn't agree with you more i was just speaking to an Albanian friend of mine who i met from the time i was in the region, i have continued to still keep in touch & he said the same thing & he said most Albanians believe all of the plotters should be executed and be made an example of... We need strengthen our allies in the war on terror we must stay & fight united against the war on terror.
