New Taliban Leader Had Been in Afghan Custody; Released in Hostage Deal
June 20, 2007 12:01 PM
The Taliban military commander who led the "graduation ceremony" for 300 suicide bombers was one of five men released from an Afghanistan prison earlier this year in exchange for a kidnapped Italian journalist.
On the tape, Dadullah, whose notoriously brutal brother was killed by the U.S. last month, introduces and congratulates new teams of suicide bombers as he sends them off to conduct suicide missions in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Germany.
"These Americans, Canadians, British and Germans come here to Afghanistan from faraway places," Dadullah says on the tape. "Why shouldn't we go after them?"
THE BLOTTER RECOMMENDS
Dadullah has been quite busy since his release. He reportedly organized the deal to obtain his brother's dead body for burial in exchange for the release of four medical workers.
Dadullah also received a condolence letter from Osama bin Laden following the death of his brother.
Journalist Daniel Mastrogiacomo was kidnapped along with his interpreter and driver by Taliban fighters in early March.
A hostage trade was negotiated, in part by an Italian-run hospital organization, for his release in exchange for the release of five senior Taliban commanders that were in the custody of the Afghan federal government.
The deal was harshly criticized at the time, and protests took place in front of the Italian-run hospital.
Mastrogiacomo's driver and interpreter, who were not included in the exchange, were both beheaded.

Did you guys get his statement of "These Americans, Canadians, British and Germans come here to Afghanistan from faraway places, Why shouldn't we go after them?"
Maybe the statement "We fight them over there so we won't have to fight them over here." is really incorrect. And we just to dumb to realize it.

As a fan of irony it would only be appropriate for the first wave of suicide bombers to hit Italy...

I am pretty sure that this was just a staged piece of propoganda. However, just in case I have pencilled 07/07/07 in my diary.
We'll find out then if I am right or wrong. If I am wrong, a lot of people are going to die because we allowed our political leaders in the US and the UK to takt their eye off the ball and invade Iraq before the job in Afghanistan was finished.

The best policy is to just kill them when we capture them, that way they can't bargain by kidnapping other and using them as barganing chips. I think we should also burn the bodies, since it offends them so much to have their dead burned (they believe they won't reach heaven if they are cremated), so maybe they will try to stop reaching heaven so bad by suicide bombing. We have to make it in such a way that they fear suicide bombing and death.

What does 07/07/07 have to do with this triptriptripleb? I think I missed something or is this just your thinking of the next most obvious date?
I think this whole thing is frightening that our homeland security department is taking this so lightly! five years ago they would have had every airport, bus station, train station, and sea port already on high alert at just a chrip from a radio in the middle east! Are we already so comfortable?

You all can whine like babies but this will never end, unless we understand that invading other countries and provoking them to attack us isn't the solution we are the aggressors making them come at us, we should defend ourselves here in our homeland(USA) and make peace with everyone around us not hate us, Wars will go on until we open our eyes and push ourselves out of the corner and make amend with the world instead of being the AGGressor.

when we attack these lunatics we must do so without mercy or hesitation. please, these are uneducated fanatics who must br killed by the bushell. the US should utilize the largest FUEL-AIR bombs we can muster so when we drop them on a training camp they are all wiped out in one clean swoop - whether in pakistan or afganistan. lets take some old US missile submarines and outfit their missiles with massive F-A payloads. either we mean business or we dont!!!

What unbelievable morons all of you are, how did you bloodthirsty imbeciles ever learn how to write?

livestock observer, maybe you can revise the "all of you" part...maybe you can also post something that's relevant here...
Posted by: Jazz | Jun 20, 2007 5:13:47 PM
hey, livestock. why dont you go spend some tourist dollars over in afganistan. when those lunatics catch you, dont bother screaming for mercy. you won't be heard over the gurgling of your blood from your carved throat or the cracking of your neck bones as they happily saw away chanting "god is great". i wonder what your facial expression would be as they held up your severed head. perhaps a look of surprise???

I like the comment about letting the Chinese deal with these Islamic lunatics. Remember Iraqi Al-qaeda didn't dare cutting off a Chinese hostage's head some time back? That's fear against fear. If the Chinese caught a terrorist not only they chop him up right on spot but they also behead 9 generations of his. Terrorize that!

All of you talk about the journalist being freed... but none of you talk about the afghan driver and translator.. why? were they not important? wouldn't any government have exchanged a prisoner for them? NO..NO,NO,NO!
I feel ashamed to be an american right now. We start wars that we can't fight, we kill people ( over a million people because of the two wars) and no one pays for it. not bush, not rumsfeild, not Rice, not Powell. why is that? This nation is the Great Babalon from the book of revelations. "Nations will drink from her cup and indulge in all the sins of men." Hmmmmm.....
ITS NOT GOD BLESS US... ITS MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON OUR SOULS!!!

The only way we are going to end this crisis of terrorism is to do the same thing to these people that Truman did to Japan. Until these people feel pain they will not understand. Ask the Japanese what they were going to do to Americans before the big drop. It's not pleasant, but only extremes will work in these cases. Yes some innocent die, but how many of our innocent must die first before something is really done. You cannot negociate with hate, you have to kill it.

They probably had to let him go so as not to hurt his feelings. Or worse - he could have been held as a result of . . . profiling! That sub human should be in hell with his brother slap dancing on hot coals.

Leftest again. Reading, I learned that Afghanistan as never known peace. In my 50 plus years of life, there has always been violence in the Middle East. I think is may be the result of tribalism in the past. I don't know. I'm sure some conservative drop out like Limbaugh knows. He knows more than god almighty. I don't understand hornet behavior. I have figured out kicking a nest of hornet will get me stung. I don't know why a white man isn't safe walking down some of the streets of Oakland a night. I don't walk those streets to prove my right to walk them. What did we think would happen in the Middle East if we invaded? If this guy isn't out trying to kill Americans, more American haters are being recruited daily. This is a good argument to invest the money we are wasting trying to bomb these people in to liking us and develop technologies to leave these people happy and isolated where they are free murder each other without our intervention. The best way to screw these folks is to cut them off. I don't care if they have running water, power, lights, schools or food. Conservatives won't spend money to make East LA, Washington DC or any other American city violence free. They think we can make the street of Baghdad safe.

" BigT said:
This extremist muslim looks at the US and sees and sees extremist right wing politics led by the Christians and supported by a kill-all the middle easterns militiary and he may as well be looking in the mirror...the only difference is the religion. "
you have got to be kidding me. Comparing the brutality done in the name of Allah to Christians or Jews for that matter is laughable. Even now, look at all the riots over rushdie being knighted because he wrote a book. how many anti-christian books have been written, especially recently - yet you don't hear Christians issuing fatwas and death threats. And look at all the anti-jewish stuff spouted every single day on Islamic media, yet amazingly the jews aren't taking to the streets and strapping on bomb belts. No in fact all Israel does is keep talking about the 'peace process' and the west keeps trying to send peace envoys. peace peace peace, thats all the west wants. while death death death is all the middle east muslims offer. The complete hypocrisy of the 'victim' stance that muslims like to take just blows my mind. do they truly not see the despairing depths of their own hypocrisy?
