New Video From Al Qaeda No. 2
July 04, 2007 3:09 PM
As Americans celebrate the 4th of July today, Al Qaeda's top deputy Ayman Zawahiri is appearing in a new internet video praising jihadi fighters in Iraq and elsewhere. Dressed in all white and sitting before a news studio background, Zawahiri warns Americans that "Today, the wind - by grace of Allah - is blowing against Washington."
In the hour and half long video, which surfaced today on the website Strategic Translations, a translation and terror analysis firm, Zawahiri urges his followers to hurry to Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, and Somalia.
He also offers a message of confidence to the jihadi fighters in prison saying that victory in Iraq and Afghanistan will come soon.
"You must be patient and steadfast," he says. "Rejoice, for victory is near, with Allah's permission, and the herds of crusaders have begun to split up and their sole concern has become searching for a way out."
Entitled "The Advice of One Concerned," the video has English subtitles and includes clips from other videos and news broadcasts, including one from Al Furqan, the video production arm of the Islamic State of Iraq. There is a brief clip of Thomas Kean, chairman of the 9/11 Commission, speaking about the security challenges facing the United States. Also appearing on the tape is a clip of Abdul al-Bari Atwan, the editor of a London-based Arabic newspaper. In the clip, from an appearance on an Arabic news channel, Atwan declares that al Qaeda has become stronger since the September 11th attacks and that is truly an international organization.
The video does not reference the thwarted in attacks in London and Glasgow, but appears to be more of a 'state of the ummah' style address intended to try and provide advice to the Muslim world in a manner similar to the fireside chat.
Zawahiri offers what he calls his "reflections" on the scene in Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere. Sometimes using charts or referring to lengthy excerpts, including one from Bob Woodward's book "Plan of Attack," the video is part-seminar, part-call to jihad.
At one point, Zawahiri even pauses to crack a joke about an article he read in an Egyptian newspaper that refers to a fax allegedly sent from a political prisoner there who renounces his extremist views from prison.
"Do the prison cells of Egypt now have fax machines?" he asks disbelievingly, "and I wonder, are they connected to the same line as the electric shock machine or do they have a separate line?"

A phobia is an IRRATIONAL fear of something. As such, islamaphobia does not exist, since islam (lowercase intentional) has given free societies ample reason to fear it. So rather than calling islamo(a?) phobia, lets call it: justified-fear-o-islam. Hows that. Heres a hint, if you want to stop being "discriminated" against, then stop blowing up innocent people. I am getting a bit tired of these videos and suicide bombings by the muslim fundamentalists. Come Ramahdan why don't we, the West, nuke Medina, if there are any more quests for those 80 virgins then let's nuke Mecca. Their objective is to destroy us and Israel, let's hit them where i hurts.

What a nutjob. It is ironic that the people that defend these lunatics the most are the ones they would like to kill first...

What most Americans don't get is that we are engaged in a neo-colonial war to subject the Muslim nations that aren't under our thumb to our imperium. That is to say, to put them under our thumb. They are fighting back as any sensible people would when some foreign nation tries to dominate them. But stupid Americans think they are "attacking" us without reason. They have plenty of reason; Americans are too stupid to understand that.

There is no such thing as "Al Qaeda". It is all propaganda released from the Bush administration.

Chris - you are a pussycat.

Nothing irritates me more to hear about "this mess in Iraq". Are you kidding me? We have lost 3500+ soldiers after 4 years and people are complaining about a "mess". Give me a break! They are just repeating what the left wing media tells them everyday. That same media that so quickly made sure not to show the aftermath of 9/11 so we "could get over it".
The Muslim world would quickly concede and move towards self government if they felt the American people were still completely behind this President. But, the American people, after being brainwashed constantly about this "mess in Iraq", find it hard to stay the course. If I understand correctly, in past wars, we lost more than 5 - 6 thousand soldiers in one day. Yet we stayed in those wars and brought our soldiers home victorious. For some reason, there is a strong constituentcy in America that will not allow victory only because it might create some type of an allegiance to those in power or the instruments thereof.
A guy told me the other day: "The way you end this war, when we capture a terrorist we then kill the terrorist and the terrorist's family, including uncles, cousins, aunts, and grandparents. You would need to do this 3 - 4 times. After that, every relative in the world would be giving up their terrorist brethren".
Today, July 4th, 2007, we, as Americans, are out celebrating and enjoying ourselves. No one is worried about a terrorist event in this country. You know why? Because this administration is making sure it doesn't happen so that we can continue to do the things we do. I thank God everyday for that protection. Why don't you?
Posted by: Jay | Jul 4, 2007 6:03:11 PM
How long do they have to say "God willing" before they realize that God isn't? Apparently, they don't have "Allah's permission" to do what they're doing because we're killing them at every turn. We're kicking their tail and, YES, we're winning militarily.

Harry Reid called, he wants his speech back.

Way to go, Chris!
Finally .....a terrorist with a clue.

Oddly, the video just features Zawahiri singing the "Numa-Numa" song interspersed with comic photos of his "homies" and a flashing link to his MySpace page.

We're losing? What's the score?

Read these words "You must be patient and steadfast," he says. "Rejoice, for victory is near, with Allah's permission, and the herds of crusaders have begun to split up and their sole concern has become searching for a way out."
They are counting on doubters, appeasers, and quitters taking power. We need to win, it really is a world war, that is how they see it.

Why do you even bother reporting on any video submittted by these terrorist thugs. Why give them the time of day? Are you so hungry for ratings? I don't want to see their mugs on my TV set. It's an infringement on my space...Their videos aren't newsworthy, they are filled with vile hate for our way of life and you fan the flames and make them IMPORTANT by showing this trash and reporting it on your website..you an all the other MSM newsrooms who are going downhill fast.

i wonder how different things would be if the US and the rest of the coalition had adopted the following simple strategy:
for every soldier killed by the inusrgents, he/she will be replaced by two.
Posted by: james | Jul 4, 2007 6:09:16 PM
Sorry, Chris...only the liberals are losing, because they can't, no matter how hard they try, make peace with the terrorists. Does that word scare you...I'll say it again...TERRORISTS.
Posted by: Americania | Jul 4, 2007 6:09:50 PM
Thanks Chris...Yer a peach of optimism...
Really glad we don't have to depend on you for anything important or meaningful...
As for Zawahiri and his knock off of the Half-hour News Hour parody...
I really wish some news media outlet would run the tape in its entirety, without commercial interuption in prime time, with sub-titles or translation...
That way even the less intelligent people like Chris here can get a taste of what it is they are helping to defend...
