We could put boots on the ground in Pakistan tomorrow and four years from now, we'll still be in both Afghanistan AND Pakistan trying futilely to eradicate the terrorists. What makes anyone think we know how to do this yet after so much time being unsuccessful at it?

Your post makes a lie out of the popular myth that terrorists (more specifically radical Muslim extremists) want to kill every American and "slit our throats". How can that be if as you say, "They don't fight".

To use the convoluted logic of some, the argument for or against anything is to bring up any other non related incident and ask you to use the same weights and measures to qualify and quantify both events though one may have absolutely nothing in common with the other.
For example: You say something about invading or entering Pakistan and my reply might be to justify doing so by pointing out that after being strafed and bombed by another country we must surely have the right to invade any country that is a hide out for the resistance against us in a totally separate country that we invaded wrongly and have occupied militarily for years. If you don't see the correlation,...it's because there is none. Beware the dreaded bait and switch. Some people will stoop to any level just to reward their ego with a win in a debate.

The US army is the strongest in the world but no the smartest. Wars now-a-days aren't fought based on brute force but rather on cunningness and your brains. When you are dressed like a soldier in a villiage full of people dressed traditionally, your are asking for trouble. You are just a moving target. When a soldier gets close to a terroist he moves back as the soldier dosen't know how he looks. At the same time if it was the other way around the soldier wouldn't move as everyone around him are dressed alike. AQ isn't telling people to get off their ass and kill people. THey are telling them to train themselves and formulate a plan that does not involve using military fatigue, guns or RPGs but rather household item that when combined are deadly.

Kid Charlemagne, you make some excellent points, however my point about the USA's actions is its despicable history over the past 50 years of interfering in nations that were no threat to the USA and its threat to interfere again in Pakistan without the consent of the Pakistanis. Just to name a few, North Korea, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Chile, Cuba (Bay of Pigs), Dominican Republic, Grenada are nations where the USA either invaded, deposed elected leaders or waged clandestine war. Iraq is the current shining example of a sovereign nation being invaded and destroyed by the USA, yet Iraq has never been a threat to the Americans. These are all related incidents to the Pakistan situation because it shows an ongoing course of conduct by the USA, which considers itself to have the right to invade, depose, attack or undermine any nation it chooses and also break or abrogate every international treaty it has signed. Just a quickie about that - the USA has been breaching the NPT since the day it signed, but the current nuclear deal with India is an amazing and flagrant breach of the NPT. But the USA expects Iran to stick by the NPT to the letter and also forgo its legal rights to enrich uranium, but the USA continues to develop nuclear weapons and do deals with a non-NPT nation. This is the basis of my arguments, Kid Charlemagne - it's not just Pakistan, it's almost EVERYTHING that the USA does in the international sphere that is offensive and illegal. This is why the USA is not only hated by the majority of the planet, but motivates people to attack it.

I understand what your point is, but this statement is so off from the truth and just incorrect to an nth degree, man...

This biased report needs to show the number of Pakistani Army officials who have died in Waziristan, Wana and in other Pak/Afghan Border areas. Not only that hundreds of officials have died in the past three weeks! What more do you want them to do? Sending US troops will make the locals loose faith in the Pakistani Govt and a civil war will result just like the situation In Iraq which was worsened way more due to the presence of the US troops! You can say all you want about the US troops being martyrs and trying to help..there's no denying that! But the people at the conference table need to keep in mind the possibilities of all that can happen because of their action! Clean up your mess in Iraq and Afghanistan rather than adding more countries in your menu list.

Jazz, you say that my statement about the USA committing illegal and offensive acts in the international spehere is incorrect. I don't have unlimited time to point out the litany of illegal acts or the flouting of international treaties by the USA, but here are a few. The current nuclear deal with India completely violates the NPT, yet the USA demands that Iran not only complies to the letter with the NPT but also gives up its legal rights to uranium enrichment under threat of attack - utter hypocrisy, but typical. The US funding of terrorist group Jundullah to launch attacks on Iran. The $75 million allocated by the USA for "regime change" in Iran, completely illegal under the UN Charter. The illegal war and occupation of Iraq. The abrogation of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. The continued flouting of the NPT by the USA continuing to upgrade nuclear weapons and develop new ones. The two failed attempts by the CIA to assassinate or depose Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. This are just a few current events - don't get me started on previous US illegal activity and interference in sovereign nations. I still remember Iran-Contra, the mining of Managua Harbour, Salvador Allende, Grenada, a litany of other crimes. Don't you DARE accuse me of making statements that are not truthful, because history backs me to the hilt. Just because your government and newspapers whitewash the history of illegal and criminal acts by your nation will not insulate the world from the truth. Most of this planet does not fall for the spin-doctoring and blatant lying that the Americans swallow as "news" - the history books have the facts and those are what I have stated here - like it or lump it, Jazz.
