New Al Qaeda Web Ad Threatens 'Big Surprise'

August 01, 2007 7:34 PM

Newalqaedawe_mn A new al Qaeda propaganda ad, headlined "Wait for the Big Surprise" and featuring a digitally altered photograph of President George Bush and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf standing in front of a burning White House, was posted on the Internet today.

The brief clip from al Qaeda's "as Sahab" propaganda arm juxtaposes the doctored photo of Bush and Musharraf along with previously seen images of al Qaeda's top leadership -- Osama bin Laden, Ayman al Zawahri and Adam Gadahn -- as well as a photo of an SUV in a motorcade.

There is no additional information provided in the ad, and it closes with the words, "Soon -- God willing," written across the screen and repeated several times.

Following the recent failed London-Glasgow terror plot, U.S. intelligence officials have been paying closer attention to the now frequent propaganda releases from as Sahab, studying the videos for hidden clues or signals.

The full video is expected to be released on the Web in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Do you have a tip for Brian Ross and the Investigative Team?

Maybe they think we will do that to ourselves. We are well on our way, OBL said Jr would chase the "ghost of terrorism and die the death of a thousand cuts." And there goes Dubya, chasing like a dog chasing his tail.

BTW, OBL is dead, funny how ABC keeps the myth going, but no surprise considering how they lied about pre-war intel for Bush...too late for them to bail out now.

More garbage from the terrorists, aided and abetted by he liberal media. Fact is we are MUCH safer in America now than before 9/11 cuz of the wise leadership of President Bush. Terrorists are too busy dying in Iraq to bother us here. Someday after Bush leaves office America will wake up to what a great leader he was and how he kept America safe. But for now we got to listen to videos put out by the liberal Bush-haters.

Oh yes, a band of terrorists holed up in the Pakistani mountains have the capability to plan yet another mind-blowing attack, make a video to announce such and place it upon the internet, and evade capture by thousands of troops searching the mountains.. completely plausible. Wake Up To the Truth America! The next "terrorist" attack will be another inside job like the first one..

If we had kept on track in Afghanistan and captured these idiots, we would not be worrying about another attack.

Love that religion of peace.

The terrorists understand why Bush did what he did. Perhaps, however, we could simply apologize for Bill Clinton bo,bing Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Sudan just to get Monica off of the cable news channels. Would that help?

The Terrorist have left the United States in fear since we are doing such a good job of destroying ourselves and our economy.

And again...

Even if OBL exists at all, if something "big" happens, it will just be another false flag operation like 9/11.

Forget about the POTUS '08 campaign. '08 will be marked by martial law and suspended elections following simultaneous "big surprises" in three or more locations. And our own government's fingerprints will be all over it, just like 9/11.

Good thing President Bush is busy with his "destroy the world to save it" strategy.

How right you are Brad. I honestly don't know who poses the bigger threat to America, the socialibunists or the terrorists.

Posted by: MrUNPC | Aug 1, 2007 8:38:46 PM

BRAD SMITH! I urge you to wake up. Watch this video of a self-proclaimed CONSERVATIVE who woke up and figured out that the "LIBERAL BUSH HATERS" were right!

It's not as simple as you think it is, sir. Nothing is as black and white as you write about.

Nothing is a surprise anymore. Not this, not the bridge collapse in MN. We sould really be paying attention to terror

Posted by: Drums of War | Aug 1, 2007 8:39:02 PM

getting a little tired of the "how they lied about pre-war intel" crap... the intel goes back to 1998... under Clinton.

Posted by: madokie | Aug 1, 2007 8:39:08 PM

Here we go again, the fear mongers playing the OBL myth once again. When is the real investigation into our own corrupt Govt. going to take place? You know? The one that takes a closer look into our dear leaders relationship with the Bin Ladens and the phony war in Iraq and Afghanisatn for future oil rights! when we look at politics today it's like watching an episode of the simpsons "totally surreal" with not a bit of common sense involved!!

George Bush is an idiot and the real terrorist.

Absolutely amazing that we allow a dictator to rule......where have all the intelligent Americans gone? All that seems to be left are close minded, racist, bible thumping numb-brains....so sad...

Posted by: John Smith | Aug 1, 2007 8:40:42 PM

There's NO evidence OBL is dead. We are hardly any safer than we were on 9/10/01. Sept. 11 was NOT "an inside job" and only deluded conspiracy losers think so.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Bernard Lewis' warning of last year: August 2 seems to be a key date.

Every comment comes from a fringe group. Fascinating.

re: Bruno

how do you know "If we had kept on track in Afghanistan and captured these idiots, we would not be worrying about another attack."?

to this I say you are sadly misguided. Did we capture Hitler? Have we left Korea? Have we left Germany? NO... this country needs to have patience with this new kind of war we are fighting. We are not fighting a nation state we are fighting an ideology. imagine fighting gangs in an area the size of Texas. You can't tell how the enemy is. The stupid public opinion prevents the troops from doing their job.. sometimes i wish the media would stay out of the war and let the US do what they need to do
