As a senior of 75 years I am sinking into despair rapidly! First, the Bush/Cheney failures and lies. Then comes our Secty of State lying openly on world TV to our Congress! And also openly demonstrating her ineptness to handle what the job demands of her! Then comes FEMA and a sham press conference that now is world news! And on and on everytime I open my Internet connection America sinks deeper into a morass as a second rate nation. As a Veteran I am ashamed to be called an American because of the picture the world now has in living TV of what we are! And then above all else, Congress has put the stamp of approval on it all!Placing our children and over five more generations of offspring in servitude to China and the other financing nations of Bush/Cheney's genocide and a mercenary army doing the dirty stuff so as not to be credited to US! Where will it end

Amen sir. Thank you for saying so elequently what I am thinking. It is a disgrace that you had to sacrifice your life and time to protect this country when all it takes is a few bad apples to ruin all of the hard work of the founding fathers and previous administrations. Thank you for serving this country and what it once stood for. As a mother of two and a wife in a middle class family, I pray every day that we can turn this country around soon!

Once again the Republicans cover up criminal wrongdoing. What is the problem with these guys?

I can only guess that Ms. Rice is also the one that gave Blackwater immunity from prosecution on the latest charges of murder.

Re: Comment by olerb 10/26/07 - Bravo. Well done. As a retired member of the U.S. military I agree with you completely.

Our nation has become a shadow of what we used to be (or at least what we thought we were) honorable, fair, and just. We can't possibly feel that way anymore...at least I can't - and that's truly a shame...because I WANT to feel that way - I WANT other peoples of the world to look up to us as a nation - I WANT to be able to hold my head high when I travel abroad - to feel proud of the way this nation conducts herself in the national and international arena...I WANT to but I can't.

We were attacked, and your hero Monkey Boy used that situation to go attack a different country, because his family is very tight with the Bin Ladins and it would've been rude to mention it at polo. The whole world agrees that this was a major naive screwup by a bunch of rich guys dreaming of an empire....heck you can read it in their idiotic "New Century" declaration. Oh, and perhaps some old pals could get reaaaalll rich at the same time.

But now we're in that familiar repub zone where facts are secondary, and sometimes never happened at all. And you'd like to hang the whole wingnut screwup on the weak ties that were found in the Oil-for-Food program....which also found a crippled third world country, and not a scary threat to Western Civilization.

Would really have people believe that you care about Arab lives? That's laughable! I suppose you've been a strong advocate to investigate whether Blackwater has murdered any innocent locals, right? And you must have spoken out in outrage when Abu Graib happened, right? No? The rest of your post shows that you really couldn't care what happens to them as long as you feel "patriotic".
