Worried Bin Laden Urges Iraq Insurgents to 'Unite'
October 22, 2007 2:29 PM
Showing apparent signs of concern over events in Iraq, al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden urged insurgents to "unite your lines into one" in an audiotape played on al Jazeera Monday.
"Don't be arrogant," bin Laden warned. "Your enemies are trying to break up the jihadi groups. I urge you all to work in one united group."
People familiar with bin Laden's voice say the tape appeared to be authentic, although there was no reference to any event that would indicate when it was recorded.
Bin Laden's message comes at a time when U.S. strategy to split Iraqi insurgent groups from al Qaeda units appears to be working.

"It's always good news when they are divided," said Richard Clarke, the former White House counterterrorism adviser, now an ABC News consultant. "It's reflective that U.S. tactics are having some success."
Saying he was speaking to "everyone in the Muslim community," bin Laden urged "scholars and leaders of the jihad" to take on the role of uniting the groups "right now."
U.S. intelligence officials said they were studying the tape, the third this year from the terror fugitive who is believed to be hiding along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Terrorists will have to confront the rapid development of small Arabian states setting up centers of luxury and pride that will overshadow anything man made so far. How they try to confront this development will be shown to their supporters and could be a double edge sword. Will they try to destroy a source of proud achievement for their society or live with it and lose their credibility and support ?

Whatch for their attempts to unit. Then we will see the lines try to connect between them and find them. What an opportunity to infiltrate their network!

Why isn't finding this guy a priority? It burns me up every time I see his face in the news. I still believe that finding Bin Laden and killing or capturing him would be a huge blow to terrorism worldwide. I recognize that no one man creates or sustains the scourge that terrorism is. However, success should be measured at the center of the target, not at the edges. Let's renew our man-hunt for Bin Laden.

762 stories about how it the war is being runinto the dumpers, how the insurgents have fled to outside towns to wait out the surge, hundreds of people killed and not shown or reported, buildings collapsing, still no running water or electric 5 years later (almost) and these pathetic elephants latch onto 2 or 3 stories about how its getting better. You people would believe ANY thing that dork says from Aliens eating PB and Jelly Sandwiches to Snakes that talk and Arks loaded with Dinosaurs 6K years ago. 33% of you will NEVER EVER EVER EVER change your mind no matter WHAT evidence you get. NEVER. Yes, one story better 15,000 awful and its a landslide of success. Vote folks. In droves, vote like your life depends on it. These armchair generals and Napolean wannabes are going to convince you to lay down your life and let it be run, into the ground. Vote in the millions or we're done for. Forever.

Doesn't anyone find this tape coming out at a convenient time?! It just so happens that Bush is asking for another $42 billion for this war...
Hit the nail on the head...
But the majority won't listen or even pay attention to small details. It just not "that inportant".
There are many parallels for these actions throughout history. Which you ask? Go seek and ye shall find...
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that alot of what's going on now has connections to past actions in history.
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

sue: You are well meaning, I am sure, but you really do belong in the Opra and View crowd, not were real news is being aired (albiet, reluctantly by the Libs ABC).

This tape was played on Al Jazeera, according to the story. Only the paranoid left would think that Bin Laden and Bush are plotting together. There is no mention of the White House being behind this story.

Hey, Mr President, bin Laden says, hello! What do ya say about that? Still looking for this ellusive terrorist?
Posted by: wmd5 | Oct 22, 2007 4:59:26 PM
Really?
Who the hell cares?
It's going to happen. Whether it is tomorrow or it is in 20 years, the next bombing won't be the last.
Stop giving this guy so much media attention. If it's not him trying to scare you, some other will.
They hate Americans, so what...so does every other country in the world. If you are scared of him then move to Iowa where those dirt bags don't even know that it's a state of the union.
The money-men of the media, the Federal Reserve and the American governmaent are trying to take over the world you idiots....Wake Up and fight back.

Mt problem with jack-slapin Iran is that we won't crush them with the air capabilities that we could. Don't let it be another venue for this WhiteHouse's war machine.
'I am the war President. I am the decider.'
LMAO...can we attack Iran without the okay of the Congress?
Someone please answer that.

Why is it, in the US we think we can go overseas and solve all their problem? Whi is going to solve ours? Keep in mind, their problems started many, many centuries ago. Dubya should know this if he is a religious man. Think he can read the Bible? Laura is a teacher, maybe she can read it to him. No, I am not a religious fanatic, a dubya fanatic, war fanatic, etc. China, India, Ja[an, Tiawan, and on and on, are slowly killing us with th cheap labor and poisons. Popeye watch out for your spinach!

One thing I would like to see is the underlying connection between OBL and the almost non reported Muslim Insurgency in Thailand. Or is there a connection? Why are Muslims waging war against a mostly Buddhist country?

When I read abt all the Ameriquest's crappy doings, I was suprised. NOT! Why is he representing our country? He sh be in prison, not Bernie Ebbers. Ameriquest has Bush as a buddy. It's not who you know. How much $$ did he give the rich Bush family? Keep the rich rich and the poor poorer. Sad how our country has slid downhill at such a fast pace. Pity for my grandsons.
