High-Flying Ex-Con Steps Down From Thompson Campaign

Highflyingex_mn Following revelations that an adviser and top fundraiser to Fred Thompson's presidential campaign had a history as a drug dealer, bookie and reluctant taxpayer, that adviser resigned, according to a statement released by the Thompson campaign.

An e-mailed statement from the campaign to reporters quoted Philip Martin as saying he had decided to step down because "the focus of this campaign should be on Fred Thompson's positions on the issues and his outstanding leadership ability," not on his mistakes.

Republican dominos keep falling. Someone ought to make a bumpersticker about all the Republican corruption.

Why do Republicans keep hiring and supporting criminals and the criminal behaviors of others?

As opposed to the corruption on the other side of the aisle. Politicians are corrupt, period. It's only "news-worthy" when it is a conservative.

Besides, I'd rather support the people who hire and support criminals than elect the people who ARE criminals (the Dem's front-runner and their Senate majority leader, as two examples).
