'Longtime Friend,' Thompson Adviser Has Rap Sheet
November 04, 2007 2:55 PM
Since March, Philip J. Martin has traveled around the country on behalf of GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson, flying the former senator to events and working to raise more than $6 million for Thompson's campaign.
In the 30 years prior, Martin raised hell, according to public records and numerous lawsuits reviewed by ABC News, as a bookie, drug dealer and accused double-dealer.

Is thompson that good of a candidate for our people, that it has to be pointed that a friend has a record? Oh wow, who cares, he done his time, and can now raise $6mil. dollars helping his friend to win presidency. How many americans have a convict relative or friend in modern society? Most of us adults realize a friends help is most desireable.Hire him back Mr. Thompson and show america that our leaders are us; the same people! Faith in that friend is the heart america needs for leadership and success for our children.

If Mr. Thompson were avoided office by cause of having a criminal background friend, then on same token as disipline; how many americans would not be able to have a job , for knowing a person of criminal conviction? Going too far, yeah it is, so true......

I live in TN and the crack trafficking is off the chain.
There is no way that Thompson isn't or wasn't aware of this.

Of course ABC prints this but glosses over the crimes of the Clinton family, expecially Bill's many perjuries, fogeries, and who knows what else. Look forward to many more reports like this from a biased media (see recent Harvard study) against Republican candidates, while the Clinton's many crimes are white washed.
