Nuke Protection Put Off for Another Year

November 20, 2007 2:56 PM

Nukeprotection_mn For more than six years now, U.S. officials have claimed or promised they could stop terrorists from smuggling nuclear material into the country through American ports.

ABC News has twice exposed how easy it is to move radioactive material into the country without detection, and now The Washington Post reports the latest proposed detection machines are also a disaster, needing at least another year to perfect.

what are they nuts? we don't pay their salaries to make decisions on their own! they're men and a known fact is that they can not make spontanious decisions and we can't afford another year like we 've just had! tell them to stop pushing our buttons and start preparing for the worst! the trouble is already there! don't show them in, they'll show you!! give the government back to the people and save face if you care anything about your dignity! we can't help you; we have to help ourselves now! you blew it and you will never live it down!!

Another clear indicator that this party REALLY doesn't care about making us safer like they say.

After 9/11 what I see is a river of money supposely invest in new technology that doesn't work a bunch of opportunist taking advance of what happened to reap the system. we didn't get another attack for the fact that the progress in the inteligen community have change dramaticaly we're waching more closely or God knows what else can be behing all of this. I believe the govertment have to create laws to punish this kind of people that are waching the first opportunity to make a fraud.

Why not send the terrorists a personal e-mail next time as to how they can attack us? This irresponsible reporting endangers all of us!

Posted by: Cliff | Nov 22, 2007 9:34:39 AM

Cliff,

Why not send them an e-mail? Isn't that what Bush/Cheney did prior to 9/11? If you think that the "terrorists" are stupid, then it is you that is so.

What difference does it make? It's a known fact that the Russians already planted nuclear bombs in many strategic locations throughout North America. But our agents hid them in their country too. In case we were winning a nuclear holocast they would detonate these 26 bombs.

Does anybody care that each year about 20,000 men, women and children are murdered in this country by American terrorists:criminals. No foreign terrorist has killed one in 6 years or 20 years before 9/11

I am not a Bush fan, but I am getting so tired of the negitive postings about Bush, even when the topic doesn't relate to Bush, I am going to vote for Bush!!!!
Perhaps all the negitive statements are just propaganda?

To Joe Murphy: I direct your attention to the Democrats pushing legislation to nationalize airport security and then unionize it - how is that working out? Or the Democrats resisting any substantive securing of the southern border and opposing the enforcement of existing laws that would stem the flow of illegals across the border. Or leading Democrats insisting that the war on terror is just a partisan bumpersticker idea. Or, or, or...

Plenty of bipartisan blame to go around on why our national borders are still porous to all sorts of threats.
