NYPD Chief Casts Doubt on Giuliani Expense Story
November 30, 2007 3:40 PM
New questions were raised today about Rudy Giuliani's explanation for submitting police security expenses to obscure city agencies while he was mayor of New York and carried on a secret affair with his mistress, who also was given use of a police driver and city car.
Giuliani said Thursday the unusual billing practice was not intended to hide anything but instead to speed payment of American Express credit card bills.
But the current New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said today he knew of no problems with the delay of payments before Giuliani was mayor, when Kelly served under Mayor David Dinkins, or since.

"I don't recall anybody, any statements about delay," Kelly told reporters.
He said all bills for the police details for Dinkins and now for Mayor Mike Bloomberg are handled directly "through the police department."
Critics say Giuliani's practice of sending the bills to other agencies suggested he was trying to hide his extra-marital affair with Judith Nathan, who he later married after divorcing his second wife, Donna Hanover.
In South Carolina today, Giuliani declined to offer any further explanation, saying, "We've already explained it."
Giuliani's staff made "a concerted effort" to keep reporters from coming near to the candidate, according to ABC News reporter Jan Simmonds.
"At least three Giuliani press staffers loudly instructed the press to stay within their cordoned-off area and were warned not to approach the candidate," Simmonds reports.

Rudy lying again? What a surprise. Kiss your campaign goodbye.

Bush paved the way and Rudy wants the pay. Shows you how bad the MAINSCREAM media messed up fawning for access from 1600 PENN. Now they turn on the media telling them to stay in their corral and shut up. Republicanism...serving the underground executive branch spawned by the bushbaby.

I think this will be Giuliani's undoing.
How could someone with Giuliani's record of morally-questionable behavior be nominated by the Republican party?
Posted by: Jason | Nov 30, 2007 4:24:27 PM
Again the rich and spoiled who think they are better and more clever than everyone else and don't have to pay for things. He is not qualified to be a president or even a mayor.

Another sleazy Republican stealing public money to finance his sex life. Typical.
Posted by: JaneSays | Nov 30, 2007 4:37:28 PM
Where are the Republican morals police now? Still whining about Bill Clinton, I guess... LOL

Gee, what a surprise; yet another financial scam by "Mr. 9/11 Parrot".
If after all these articles showing just how corrupt he is, he's elected President, then it will show that Americans do not want decency in their government, and will get the corrupt government it deserves.

The issue isn't whether or not Rudy squirreled away the costs for his dalliance, but that he used public funds and employees on his mistress while still married and spending security dough on his wife and family. And Judi having her own police car and driver....Its too much.

PS: You do a great job Brian. Thank you.

Giuliani is as crooked as a cat's back. How low have we sunk that he can even be considered a viable candidate, let alone a front-runner?
Posted by: Cardsgal | Nov 30, 2007 5:18:55 PM
Quick show of hands. Who really believes Rudy's answer to this situation? Anyone? Anyone? I didn't think so.
Posted by: nab | Nov 30, 2007 5:23:23 PM
Rudy is as rotten as the day is long. I hope the MSM stays after this and follows through. Just because he has lied and painted himself into a corner and doesn't want to talk about it, does not mean there is nothing there.

Giuliani is as crooked as a cat's back. How far has this country sunk that he is even a viable candidate for president, let alone a front-runner?

Luckily there's a better candidate!

He can't be all that bad because Pat Robertson and the 700 Club endorsed him>>>LOL!

Rudy should consult with Clinton (Bill)on the intricacies of romance.
Posted by: paintmequick | Nov 30, 2007 6:38:17 PM
All this petty bs! I understand it is indicative of one's character, but give me a break! And after watching “His Onerous” the mayor going after Mitt about some illegals doing his gardening work, I thought what a bunch of petty bs! Here Rome is burning down all around us and they want to see who has the dirtiest drawers! I want to know what direction they are going to take the country?

I think this will be Giuliani's undoing. How could someone with Giuliani's record of morally-questionable behavior be nominated by the Republican party? The same way Bush was- people are morons.
